I did all the steps and . Now the Frame Size from my clip match the sequence but still when I drag my clip to the timeline the picture is so big that its not fitting on the screen, can't even see the reporter's face:(
I found this helpful actually. The comment about not needing to do this below is right, but, the part where you deleted the original sequence in the big, after creating a new sequence based on the new sequence settings, was very illuminating. I'm wondering about that second clip. The DV source. How would you use that when the settings are for the HD material?
@MobileMediaProducts Yes, I agree FCP will automatically change the settings, but only for the first clip you drag on there. This was mainly to teach people how to do it manually in case they need to troubleshoot. If you are going to use DV material in an HD timeline (hopefully it is just a few clips) you could drag it down and just render those files as you move them. You could drag them down and export them, then reimporting them again with the new aspect ratio, but you could lose quality
A tip for you - if you drag the 1080i footage into a 720x480 sequence, Final Cut will ask you if you want to change the settings to match the source footage. No need to go to any drop down menus and waste time there. What you're missing are all the other settings with respect to codec, etc. If you export video from a 1080i sequence, YouTube will not be able to handle it.
Also - Final Cut 7 will allow you to export directly from Final Cut.

Thank you so much. Such a simple process but something that had been giving me trouble for ages.
