The man is right. The US and EU are partners in the desire to stabilise the region. At the moment the EU cannot support present US policy. It is the wrong policy because it is not primarily a political one. Bushetal are making the same mistake that Thatcher et al made in North of Ireland. They treated IRA terrorism as a security issue. General Odom is absolutely right on this. Bush's misplaced idealogies have sunk this country to the level of a primitive warrior nation with schoolboy bully tactics. It's impossible to ignore the administration's emphasis on Iraq (to the exclusion of other terribly opressed nations) without coming back to the realisation that it's related to oil. Remember Iraq had no part in 9/11 and had no weapons of mass destruction.
