@Jonathanartman Draw for 20 minutes at a time and take a break. Then go back to it after about 10 minutes or so. I am the same way. I cant sit and draw something all the way through unless I am seriously into it.

I love this tree.. I love the many details in it. I draw alot and details is my thong so anytime I draw I normally put about a week or two into my drawings that can only be 8x11. Again I love the details n studying ur subject before drawing helps a lot. Good job and keep up the good work.

Hey man, you finally answered my question. I draw trees and landscapes, probably the only thing I'm good at. Currently in the military and don't have time to go to class right now, so I appreciate this video a lot. The question I had to have answered is the damn leaves, I drew this one tree with over 10,000 itty bitty circles, didn't look that great. (I use ink) Keep popping out the tutorials.

This tutorial is amazing! Thanks for it! My tree trunks are way better. The land around my house is all long leaf pine trees and oak though. I can never get the leaves on a fuller tree like "oak" to look more realistic. Do you have any tips or could you make a video of you drawing one? Any advice would be helpful from someone obviously experienced to someone who started a couple weeks ago. Also how did you do the sky in your speed drawing of the island??? It looks so real!

@Redemmption310 Ya I use the same pencil because I did this drawing in a few minutes. The forest video took a week so I use different pencils because I have so many that I would misplace the last one used. So you can use one or five, as long as they are similar you should get the same effect.

I actually thought this was very complicated until I finished it. My main problems with trees have always been the branches, leaves and roots. Ah well, with most things in art its always practice.

There's no art classes in my school, which blows by the way, but i started drawing about 20 months ago and my talents have grown considerably in ways i couldn't even fathom before. Yet i still feel like i am an amateur, i can only draw people, not well may i add. I finally decided that i need to broaden my... "Drawing vocabulary" (lol?) and i started with trees. well... i guess you can just outline the bark lol, but when you're making a black and while drawing the shading is what makes up for the color in a picture or painting. I hope that makes sense haha. I see that you already watched my other tree tutorial, that one explains a lot more!

I know i'm not pinsetter but maybe i can help, i am an art student. When you use tutorials like this and such your drawings will start out looking theirs but after awhile your own style will begin to merge with the techniques you learn and begin to look different but more advanced than when you started. Plus it's likely that you'll develop your own techniques as you use his. Just remember it's impossible to completely copy another person's style.

I don't think that's really a problem by copying him you learn how to draw the basic structure of whatever you're copying so then you'll be draw similar things on your own. As long as you keep doing your own things as well i think you'll be fine.
