Hi...The Cricri conforms to FAR 23 which means it has been designed to 10G. This doesn't mean you can fly at 10G all the time :) VNE is 139 Kts. Normal G operation is +4.5 and -2.25 (Clean wing). Wing loading is high at 55Kg/m2 and the wing has a 60% laminor flow
@TheSailor450 Do you normally fly a Cricri? Where are you from? I suggest to take some aerobatic training. The cricri looks like a toy and will bite if treated as such. Bon vol.
@usernamebadagain I have done many displays in a CAP 10 and I fly to AOPA Advanced standards(flick rolls , negative inverted spins, tail slides, Cuban 8 , Flat spin, etc. I now have about 60hours + on the cricri but I have proper aerobatic training obviously my mistake. Happy Flying
Hmmmmmmmmm...usually 2 engine noises, sometimes 1. Plus engine noise is out of sync with video. Start a chain saw up and then watch the video. It is a realistic noise
@jjrichey Hi...The sound and vid are out of sync for some reason. During start and taxi she sounds like a chain saw and during flight all you would hear is the wind noise from the cam microphone :(
@usernamebadagain Listen to a chain saw in a hurricane. It will sound just like the video without the music...i plan to take a lot more video in flight and i promise, no more Top Gun music.
Hi @IIDutchyII. Hi @IIDutchyII. It depends on a lot. To buy complete, or build. And where you build. The aluminium is cheep in the USA. Expensive to import to Europe. Best case is to build in the USA. Big problem though...designer wont sell to the USA. Its a long story and i wont go in to detail. Prices in Europe are between €15000 and €18000 depending on hours and condition. To build will take around 2000 hours.
Haha Me and my friends always joke about the Cri-Cri that we get bigger prizes in our cereal boxes than it. Still cool vid. And props for flying the little guy.
thats smaller than some rc stuff, hell, he even uses a primer bottle!, and a rope pull cord!, flying as it should be, cheap, simple, FUN!, i want one.
another thing.why didnt you wear a parachute man?what if the engine fails, how will you manage to save yourself.sorry, might sound rude, but i want to know.
Parachute!!! Why? Anyway, there is no room and there is no way i would fit in the cockpit. If an engine stops in flight i have a glide ratio of around 1:35 with the other engine on full power. I know this from experiance ;)
@sshapewa Most civilian fliers don't bail, but will try and save an aircraft. Ejection seats and such are for combat aircraft that could sustain catastrophic structural failure. Since no one usually fires AA guns at Cessnas and other light aircraft, there's no need. In fact, it's a danger to people on the ground. By bailing out, you're letting an uncontrolled aircraft go fly off on it's own, potentially a danger to people and buildings on the ground
I hate that damn Top Gun song!!

Have recently flown one of these , when doing aeros I pulled about 6G when I looped .
How many G should be pulled as I think 6G was too much
TheSailor450 1 year ago
Hi...6G is too high for a loop. 2.5 - 3.5 should get you around a loop OK. Enter around 130 Kts. Any slower and you will stall at the top.

@usernamebadagain Many thanks , will try that next time I get to fly

why does everyone think they need "cool" top gun music? I'd much rather hear the sound of the engines and the flying. Not a bad vid otherwise.

sshapewa 2 years ago
The range is 250 miles (400KM) with a full tank of 23 Ltrs. Cruises at 100Kts. Engines will go quiet after 2h 30m

There's another model that uses two jet engine which are, I think, model aircraft jet engines.

I showed this vid to my A&P class one day haha!
Are those really a couple of chainsaw motors dude??
I'd like to build one as a project !
TEUFELHuNDEN420 2 years ago
The original engines were from a chain saw. These are JPX PUL 212, a mix and match from a kart engine.

@AmericanAviator +1, you make a choice to get into the aircraft, the civilians don't choose to have it fly into their living room.

Are these experimental, i want one!
KnUpRoX 2 years ago
It depends on the country of registration whether it is classed as experimental. check with your aviation authority.
