There haven't been any of Sonya or Drinya in two years even. Chances are, they died from neglect. Even if the owners didn't mean it, they're just not equipped to deal with a wild animal like a Slow Loris that in reality, they know nothing about.

This cutie Sonya was born in captivity, she seems to have a beautiful life in this family. Don't forget all the dogs or cats suffering in France, Switzerland, USA, Espana... even it's legal to have them.

Slow loris are extremely difficult to breed in captivity, and 30 to 90% of all slow loris die in transit, as they are very stress sensitive creatures. Russia is among the top ten destinations for the illegal slow loris trade. And for the record, I am currently raising money for the Jakarta Animal Aid Network as well as volunteering. It's just about the best I can do living in Jakarta.

In Thailand, they are caught from the wild, their parents killed and the babies'sharp teeth removed so that people can make money out of them by letting tourists play with them. Normally they live in darkness, are extremely shy and don't wish to be handled.
