Wow im trully amazed this is my first time seeing a girl make a beat, Coming from a man such as myself that makes beats i give you a 1000 rate lol =) keep doing ya thing maybe we can collab on a beat together.
U are fuckin sick. Can you show me a few tips? lol I hate it when people say, "Oh, sampling from a cd is unethical." Fuck you and your ethics. Hip-Hop is not that young anymore, and it needs to keep up with the times. Peace Earth. ha
@jayloubeatz one of the reason its better to sample from records, partucularly older records is because they have that special pop and his thats you just can not get from a cd. now adays you can just use a preset to add this sound to a track so really it just comes down to preference. plus records are just way cooler to collect then a flimsy ass cd.
This is truly dope. I really like that sample. The drums were pure hip-hop. I think it sounds fine the way it is. I do agree with @dubbsway4life, the snare may sound better if it were sharper. I really do like this beat so I'm gonna check out your soundclick link to hear more. God Bless.
wtf ..i used the same sample yesterday, with the same akai, crazy... mad props, timaciek .... we are living in 2010, theres nothing wrong with sampling from cdz, theres no difference so stfu
it doesnt matter if you sample with a cd or a record as long as the beat comes out fire what diffrence does it make, i sample with both sometimes cd more...
It's cool. As I said before I've never heard the tune. However if it does sound like the track, then hopefully I am going in a direction which shows I am growing as a producer.
@timaciek so what MF samples from TV, MAXX MIlls samples from ipods, Exile samples from radio.. Does it really matter what you sample from? hell Naw!!! lol just Make music bruh!
whats this dude talkin about, id sample a fart if it sounded good. i think people are too interested in trying to emulate dillas sound or madlibs or whoever feel me? lets just make the music.
better from cd the kids nowadays thinking its cool to sample from youtube and downloadshit, and some of em dont even know the name of the artist they samplin! Even worse are dudes who sample from another hiphopsong.
It's cool to see a female producer.Hip hop is so male dominated in that respect.I like the sample choice.I think it would have sounded better if the beat was sped up a little bit and if you picked a sharper snare.Just constructive criticism, not bashin' you.Keep doin' your thing.Peace !
Damn you got game! You should really get yourself a hardware-sampler and starting sampling from vinyls. It will add more crisp and dope sound to your productions.. otherwise keep on going!
the sample's from bobby caldwell right? really cool flip, i like it. the only "bad thing" i see is that you put so much drums for a chilled beat like that... anyway i like it!
...fuck a critic!!!... your shit sounds nice lady -- stay inspired and keep doin' what you're doin'... ( that's a gift -- stay wit it!!!) lol... love!

I never meant to insult you though! I'm just sayin' this sound NOTHING like Dilla- he uses alot of very small samples and most the times you can't eaven tell where it came from.. Jazzy Jeff is a good producer yes, and I'm 100% sure he uses this SAME sample in a track- you just copy it..
1stSRB 2 years ago
It's not supposed to sound like Dilla though...
I was inspired by him to create a chilled out boom bap type of beat. I am not an avid listener of his, so why would I try to recreate his sampling style?
That song Won't do, is crazy. I was amazed at how he could incorporate different samples from songs and make them mesh so well together. I wanted to recreate that type of feeling, but in my own way.
I haven't heard Jazzy's flip, but I know loads of people have flipped this sample.
