  • are you a radio ham

  • My rig with 130cm sat dish and a personal design(secret) feed antenna device is providing gains around 39 db!!!! My longest connection is from Lugano(my homecity) to Milano, italy, about 100Km away from me, using my sat dish antenna and a 10W amplifier with 27 db gain in RX!!! And this is only the begin...im searching a guy living in the states for try the first transoceanic WLAN connection!!! I have plans for build 500W Microwave linear amps...someone interested?? Write me please!! Bye bye!

  • @SouthTuningSwiss I'm interested in you building me a circular 2.4 ghz antenna.with 24dbi. How much will you sell it for?

  • @SouthTuningSwiss 100Km! Wow, I've been sitting here anxiously awaiting a chinese-made yagi.. supposedly 25 db gain. I'm really hoping it at least outperforms my cantenna. I'm hoping just to get down to the next block while you're talking about across the ocean, lol! Good luck with that. Oh..500W, won't that give people breasticle cancer or something?

  • @SouthTuningSwiss

i am from pakistan i am interested to check your connection

what will i required for this

  • For WLAN frequencies a helix antenna is like a wheelchair for a healthy runner!!! Begin to play with parabolic dishes and feeding antenna design and you will believe real gain and distances over 10 km....its not a joke!!! Helix antenna is good for 70cm band but not over! Best regards from HB9ZLX

  • señores tengo un programa ke resive y envia internet por la misma targeta wifi si lo kieren me dicen =) ConectMyWiFi

esta el video en mi canal

  • how much does it cost? and where do you get the parts???

    great!!! stuff!!! mind !!!

  • Congratulation!!! but I want to know Why you don't need to make the coupler?? or what's de impedance of your helix antenna??

  • cool sword man!

  • @Carmador Cool comment, bro.

  • Nice! But theoretically the gain must be about 23 dB for 52 turns.I has too much losses. Can someone made it in stub loaded helix version?

  • beautifully made! are you selling them?

  • supersın dostum

  • how do you connect it to your computer? is there a USB adapter for it?

  • cool sound!!

  • you should post a video on how well it works, i wanna see the results..

  • I posted that video about 4 years ago! From that time on that antenna worked well for about 2,5 years at the roof of a friends home to my "appartment" for Internet connection sharing. After that we use it for Data transfer between our two homes. works well till now!

  • if you built that.. you did an awsome job that is sweet

  • how do you made it? tell me please

  • Taht is a "normal" Helix antenna. It would remain in every "How to build an antenna" book for radio-amateurs and was only calculated for the "new" wavelength.

  • @Helloeveryone02 to made it? You have to make it first. after you make it you've made it.

  • A night in Tunesia, the music .... cool

  • when you have that many trees im shuer it needs to be longer

  • Nice coils, but does it need to be so long.?

  • Yes.

  • 2 short

  • Can you use this to control the space Rovers on Mars ???

  • man you could really beat the crap out of someone with that thing lmao

  • song name?

  • Name of song?????

  • jajaajaj an Helix Antenna with 34 loops???? jajajaja.beyond 13 loosp the antenna has the same gain!!!!!

  • fact?

  • pura pinshe peridida no lo vea, no mas se ve la pinshe antennay nunka se ve operando. vale madre!

  • whats that thing bolted on the thing??

  • what is the number for the FCC?

  • As long as he keeps the input power to a minimun then he will not exceed the limits set by the fcc

  • Como se hace?

  • erm why?? theres sod all there :( not worth the extra click if you ask me mate maybe spam everyone when you got a few more vids?

  • what is that... Insect killer??

  • a sword(?)

  • i dont think the cops would be the least suspicious seeing that hanging out your window :3

  • lol!!

  • PMFPL good answer lol ...

  • would look silly conected to a laptop lol

  • cool, but im sure most of us click on the video to learn how to make it!!!!!

  • nice sword

  • nwb

  • Nice!

  • I've built this thing, and i swear it ROCKS & WORKS, VERY WELL !! ive got about 2 km range and about 40 AP's !! (check my vid)

  • Not for wardriving then ? lol, Ive made something similar but ive incorporated two reflector arms something like a HDTV reflector and that boosted the signal a LOT !! ( I'll do a video soon of it when its fully completed.)

  • Just use a tin can with a wireless card in it, and a small satellite dish to concentrate the signal inside of it.

  • The first loop. the one closest to the reflector should run very close to the reflector for at least 1/3 turn if you want your antenna to be 50ohm the way you have it there its likely to be far from 50 ohm.

  • very cool it a complety home made, im trying to get more range

  • Looks cool, but a poor design.

  • 1:13 - 1:30

    What is that thing?

  • true, you should use PVC/Plastic for the core of the boom.

  • The aluminium rod in the center kills the gain. Use a plastic boom instead or use a

    plastic tube for the coil.

The aluminium acts like a short circuited ballast in the center of the coil. The magnetic field exists inside the wire loops, the electrical field remains outside.

    Try to measure the gain.

You will be surprised how bad it is compared to the theoretical value for the number of turns you have got.

Directivity and impedance my be ok, but the gain is what matters.

  • the aluminium support tube has NO effect on gain if the loops diam (tunning) is adjusted to suit.. In other words it just has a detunning effect which can be conpensated for.

  • GREATS ANTENA :)

  • what formula did you use to find the correct bandwith, length, and to set S.w.r.? how does this antenna do at side rejection?

  • OMG ... you will catch the signal from the aliens with this Antenna (E.T phon home )xD

    Thanks

  • The name of the music.Please.

  • It looks good, but you didn't show us that it works.

  • is omni there is no parabolic dish on it to make it directional

  • No Its Not omnidirecional Its direcional They Are Big In the 2.4 Ghz Bands

  • it is omnidirecional???

  • no its realy directed

  • wifi jedi lol

  • thats huge, not for wardriving then ? lol

  • thats pretty big for only 17dbi man. Nice antenna tho.

  • I think John Kraus was the man that make the first Helical Antenna

is very very good for receiver

and transmitter if you have a paravolic dish

very very good Idea for 2.4 and 5Ghz

but you may must have helical antenna to the AP right?

  • Awesome music!

  • ke distancia lograste?

  • please tell me the name of musik in this vid

  • Without an explanation it is far from helpful. Forget it.

  • It looks very beautiful - a work of art

  • I call anothers experts to put hear yours experiments, to tell us the tips how to build these... :)

    I big gun! 73!!@

  • this came through a "normal" Construction (see at the bottom is a Thing we call in german "Endtopf" - see also "Rothammel Antennentechnik").

  • like ve2zzz said, i don't see any impedance transformer. care to explain how you manage it?

  • What's the return loss of this antenna?

A helix requires either a 84 ohm 'Q' section (quarter wavelenth) mathing stub or a special construction (widened helix close to the ground plane) for the first quarter turn.
