@johneymute Well, gameboys are used a lot for musical purposes in combination with LSDJ, Nanoloop or any of the sorts. Hence the quality boost of both sound and bass are very much so appreciated.
And in response to your being a retard: The noise you're hearing is the EL display using a very high voltage AC supply. But the noise you're referring to isn't the chip, it's injected from the crude amplifier.
There is no difference in Audio quality w/ the added output.. only volume difference.. you should know this...since the headphone output is quieter than the "pro mod" output low end naturally sounds quieter because the human ear's frequency response is different at different spl's.
how did you prevent having a hot spot on the sceen? I've seen a mod that basically takes the power led and replaces it with a brighter led and angles it into the lcd.
honestly the cost isn't primarily the dmg itself. it's the extra parts and time. To make it all fit in I had to be a little bit of a butcher too with the gameboy, if I were doing it and screwed up then I'd just take one of my own and then send that to you with no faults, but if you send me yours which is personalised, I could ruin the thing!
I'd be prepared to lower the cost, having done it once I thnk I could speed up the process. The thing takes quite a while and a lot of effort, testing adjusting etc etc etc.
The hardest part is trying to get everything to fit!
I can't think what I would trade for, for roughly the same value I have no idea what I want/need. What's your budget?
Hey, I'd like to get a LSDJ cartridge, you still selling them?

Wow great idea! I have a color and a classic, I prefer the classic because its buttons are soft and despite the size it is much nicer to hold.
Please make a tutorial. Tks

it does,nt matter the line out you get never rid off that noise cuzz that noise is coused by the fm soundchip.
and that sound of the speaker seems like coused by hich voltage.

bebopalulahola 2 years ago
ya hope tha helped
joeyXmcc 2 years ago
Not really, it's line-out level, and doesn't suffer from the noisy circuitry of the gameboy amplifier.

This reminds me the days when I use to whack off under the bed cover and play mario with a torch..

Is that an EL backlight? The hum sounds like it's from a AC-DC inverter used from an EL light.
Raz1r 3 years ago
yo yeah it's an EL, I'm toying with a few 'no noise' versions at the moment, the trick is trying to fit it all in.
TransformerMusic 3 years ago
Try RF shielding use tin foil..

Made a newer ver a while ago, with no inductor so there's no noise which is pretty rad, just some fiddly soldering.

Yo, actually it is better as the headphone amps are fairly shite so you effectively bypass lower grade components....you should know this.......

yo, just owned :) x

the backlighting looks amazing =o
how much are you selling them for?
i'm thinking of attempting backlighting one of mine
but i failed electronics badly D: ahah [although it was partly coz my teacher lost my coursework. twice!! ¬_¬]
also seems like a bit too much effort buying all the bits to do it when i'd probably mess it all up and wreck a perfectly good gameboy :/

that is awesome. i wish i could get it for cheaper :(
you do a trade on anything?
and how much if I send you mine for you to backlight?

hmmm if you sent me yours?

oh and it's not a buzz, it's a hum....if that makes any difference to you at all.
