This is sheerly awesome. Thetrheme music from Friday teh 23th always got on my nerves but this sounds so nice. It feels perfect for the film though. Its a suprisinly good slasher film that, like the soundtrack, is so poorly known its kinda sad.

Its a classic and will always be superior to other slaher horror movies because it stayed true to form. It never tried to conform to preconceived ideas of what a horror movie should be. The Burning is one of the original slasher horror movies... While Friday the 13th and Halloween went on to make sequels The Burning lanquished as a one off, and you can't help but think that it is a better movie because of it.

I'm pretty sure Pokemon characters were so fearful of Cropsy after they blatantly ripped off his music, that it's why they hide in cartoons instead of revealing their true identity. Cropsy will hunt them down someday though. Trust me...

I think this easily could of been a film franchise. The Burning was great! Cropsey was memorable, had a disgruntled face perfect for sequels, and he was just brutal! I think this film SHOULD of spawned sequels, at least three. I always feel the same for the film Madman, both The Burning and Madman had potential!

This movie is very underrated. I've watched the behind the scenes on the dvd with Savini and he gives some insight about why it didn't do so well. Nevertheless, its a fun gem!

The script for "The Burning" was written before the original F13 was made, and was only filmed after there was a market for it. Sean Cunningham has even admitted that the Cropsy legend served as inspiration for F13.
