Yes sir. It happens. One inmate in a California State Prison managed to get ALL the parts from an outside source for a Glock 27 into the prison, including 20 rounds of ammo. He was given the slide, stuck it up his ass, then the recoil spring and barrel the next time, up his ass of course, then the bottom assembly, up his ass as well. He swallowed the bullets and stuck some up his ass in the last go round. Then, in his cell, he assembly it and it went off, he surrendered immediatly. Funny shit.
Penetration with various loads goes from 5.6"-7.2", depending on the load. CCI Short RN bullets get the best penetration.
As for stopping power, it's a .22 short. It's not a big pistol, it's not a rifle. It's a tiny little revolver firing a tiny cartridge - and it will still kill animals with well placed shots.

You go to the gunstore and ask for a NAA .22 short mini-revolver. They're anywhere from $200-$300 depending on area.
You'll have to fill out a 4473 background check, be 21 or older, and comply with all state laws.
