  • ear rape.

  • lol epic song

  • Call of duty 4 modern combat haha its warfare loooool :)

  • cool cause i have the 9800 gt!

  • lol I want this song

  • is this card better than 9800gt ^

  • one time playing fear in the dark never will do that again

  • one more question do you have vista or XP?..thx

  • we have similar specs...only I have an Acer Aspire 7720G..and the 8600M GT 512 MB,Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz and 2 Gb RAM..I should be able to run these games fine..I hope

  • is the 8600m gt a ddr2 or ddr3? and this is recorded with fraps right?

  • ddr2. and yes, fraps.

  • I posted a video response, its crysis maxxed even higher than the highest setting. I tweaked the configs. And im runnin it very high res with 16x AA, on a 8600GT which is in my laptop. Its slow and not really fun playable. But its amazing. I usually play crysis Maxxed everything except Particles Medium, Shadows Medium and physics medium, that gives me good 28++ FPS.

  • Yep my laptop has a 8600GT and Turbo Card, I manage to run crysis great.

  • hey great video man. Good example of the 8600's capabilities. im getting a new computer on thursday actually and it comes with this card and the intel quad core q6600- i'm really looking forward to it, could it run UT3 and Crysis well? Im not expecting very high on everything on crysis but i was hoping it could handle perhaps High/medium? thanks in advance :D

  • It depends if you are getting the 512 mb version of this card with the high/medium question.

I only have a core 2 duo 2.0 which isnt really enough for some of the newer games (like crysis) a quad core would do you a great benefit.

Probably medium- high, I get 10fps on all high so you should do about 150-25.

  • I love my 8600GT, and I overclocked it, lovin it, gonna make love to it :P lol

  • Great video 5 stars.

Really helped me show what this card an a laptop of that spec could acheive.

The laptop im thinking of getting is as follows:

    Core: 2.4 GHz

    RAM: 4Gb

Graphics: nVidia 8600M GT 256mb(the card in this video)

    Resolution: 1200x900

Could you give me an estimate on the fps with this laptop on high settings in crysis?

Don't worry if you cant, but it would be really useful if you could.

    Thanks a lot

  • In high on crysis the most you could possibly get would be 20FPS. most the time it would be between 11FPS-17FPS.

Your system is that different from mine, the RAM would help a little bit. If it was an XP system then it would probably help a fair bit more than it would on a vista.

On my crysis, All high is 11-15 tops. If you are thinking of gettng a laptop, you should wait until the 8800GT model comes out, which shouldnt be too far in the future.

  • Ok thanks a lot for your help,

I can definately wait, im on a laptop now,

on a measly 1.6Ghz and 1Gb ram lol, which is why i need to upgrade. I know you can upgrade the components, but I've heard that replacing a core can be very difficult.

    Thanks for all your time.

  • "but I've heard that replacing a core can be very difficult."

    And expensive.

  • depends actually my friend's massive laptop had crappy p4 and he replaced it with a desktop 94 2.8 ghz from an old computer and it works like a charm !

  • this vid = 5 out of 5 xD

  • hey man thanks for this video. i love the way its running. im glad you posted this cuz i was actually planning on getting a dell vostro 1500 with a 8600mgt videocard so now i have somewhat of an idea what the laptop is capable of. thanks alot man. by the way, if u get a chance, can u post a video of timeshift and how it runs?

  • Timeshift runs at 30fps maximum settings.

  • Great video. Thanks for summarizing the performance of the 8600gt by playing all these games. Great insurance if you plan on getting a setup with an 8600gt considering that you are investing well into the CPU and RAM.

  • Not a bad video, you just convinced me to get the laptop that i wanted.

  • This was on a laptop, dell inspiron 1720, so probably the best gaming laptop you can get right now with the specs. not counting the 8700gt as its only a faster version of 8600gt.

  • The 8800M GTX (laptop card) is out now..its insane..

  • Ill have to have a look at that...

get an upgrade for my birthday. also Ive learnt that vista + aero would play alot better with 3GB of ram, was playing an older game for xp called Battlefield 2142 and it ran quite poorly with aero on. I suspect that I would need more RAM to run with vista aero.

  • so tell me, i just bought a new Hp Dv9000. can i play crysis and on what settings??? :

    Vista Home Premium

    2.2 GHz Intel Dual Core

    4 GB DDR2 RAM

Nvidia 512 MB (dedicated) 8600 (up to over a GIG shared)

    240 GB 5400 RPM HD (2X 120 GB)

    17" 1680 X 1050

  • Probablu on high and medium settings. If not all High.

  • WOW...

    Fraps...

    Gotta get me some

  • Yes i said that free version displays your FPS. So does the full purchased version.

  • Free version is 30 seconds, but there is no limit on your FPS display.

  • hey weyes - nice display - makes me realise how naff my 6800GT is ;-)

  • with FRAPS open during game, it shows you your FPS. Fraps is also a benchmarking tool, not only a screen recorder.

  • Use Fraps and have it running whilst in-game.

  • Thanks for the display.... Kutos to you man, show the world the power of the N.

  • u should turn ur settings down abit for UT3 and COD4, cause on UT3 u dont notice the difference, and on COD4, u should turn em down in multiplayer, cause the more frames the better.

  • Yes on multiplayer UT3 with 32 bots it can lag a bit. otherwise, between 1 bot to 20 bots there is no difference

  • Ohh, just saw the closing credits, looks awsome, especially in Unreal Tournament and Crysis. If it can play these games, that's awsome.
