@enzo396 There are holes opening up in the magnetosphere. Happen last night according to Space Weather website. Solar wind got in. If you watch the data on the simulation, it is not normal. Why is it not normal? What is causing the field to weaken?
@504pro I was ignoring the existence of the interesting website on the space weather. Information from this website are real observations made by scientific instruments while simulation, as in this movie, are ideal predictions; so differences between observations and predictions reflect the lack of our knowledge on natural phenomenons. Holes in the earth's magnetic field could come from solar flares or maybe from the mechanism in the earth that make the field.

It is the earth that twist; and the magnetic field, like hair stuck on a head, blowed by the solar wind twist with it.
