  • @twoplyboy Wow, a wet system in a parking garage !?!? Is there no risk of freezing at winter time ?

  • @paul9511 its a heated garage!

  • you know you cant use the elevator, right?

  • @TheRedlegoguy who says I cant use the elevator?

  • Those look like simplex LifeAlarm speakers.

  • they wouldnt have simplex with a mircom system

  • @coolkid2676

Those are DEFINATLEY simplex lifealarms, no other speaker looks lke that.

  • @Tabby266 Actually those are made by Atlas Sound. In fact, they still make them! They've been rebranded by Simplex as well as other companies.

  • @coolkid2676 sometimes they do.

  • @coolkid2676 You can have anything you want with whatever FACP as long as the horns/speakers are the same voltage and current as the panel. There are Simplex systems that use Wheelock speaker/strobes and horn/strobes. Weatherdan has videos of fire alarm tests at his college that are wheelocks on a Simplex system

  • wtf why is there a sprinkler

  • lol arent elevators supposed to recall during a fire alarm

  • You can bypass the recall if you have the special key for it if you look at the up/down buttons on an elevator outside there is a key activated switch labled Off, On, and Bypass. He probably just set it to bypass so they could use the elevator.

  • the last time they conducted a fire alarm test at my job the elevators were still in normal operation and did not go down the lobby and remain open

  • It also depends on whether the fire alarm company has tied the elevators into the FACP (Fire Alarm Control Panel). Either your firel alarm system doesn't have that feature because it's older or for some reason the alarm company didn't tie it in or it's not functioning there are many possibilities.

  • we have a simplex 4100U panel the elevators will go into fire recall when the alarms go off unannouced

  • lol that's cool!

  • What's the model # for the speakers?

  • Who really gives a fuck?

  • So basicly the fire alarm goes off because their is not enough water pressure to put out the fire?

  • no, there is a flow switch in the sprinkler pipe that sets off the fire alarm.

  • @twoplyboy cool i never knew that.

  • it sure took a long time for the FACP to go into alarm when the valve was opened

  • yeah the Flow Switches are built with a time delay up to 90 seconds to prevent false alarms from water surges and so on.

  • this and another mircom bell test of yours made a different sound before starting into the stage 1 alarm. whats that sound mean?

  • I got this from a guy who left a message on another video. He knows Mircom. that noise is actually a coded signal that deactivates the silence feature on the new silencer switches if the apartment has it. so when an announcement is made or tones reactivate it will be heard on the speaker in the apartment.

  • got it, thanks again very much

  • they dnt at my work! they shut down!

  • I thought when the fire alarm is sounded, the elevators don't work?.

  • it depends if it's hook up to the FA. If it's not then the elevators still work.

  • haha. taking the elevator while the fire alarm is going off. nice.

  • why not..beats taking the stairs!

  • wtf is the water in the beggining?

  • Sprinkler water

  • code 3 is the standerd in canada?

  • I'm not to sure what you mean by code 3. we don't have code 3 here in Canada like they do in California. We have Temporal. It sounds 3 times then pauses for 1. It's pretty much the norm but other rates can be used.

  • that is code 3 lol

    ok

  • @twoplyboy Temporal and Code-3 are basically the same it's just for some reason in the states it's referred to as Code-3 more often. SimplexTech will refer to it as temporal in his videos as well

  • @Gb755c Why are you telling me this?

  • @twoplyboy Wasn't directing that comment at you I was just stating that for other people. Some people get confused when the word "temporal" is used but if you so code-3 more of them understand was just a clarification.

  • wow 51 seconds for the alarm to go off

  • yeah the Flow Switches are built with a time delay up to 90 seconds to prevent false alarms from water surges and so on.

  • We have those Simplex mini speakers at my elementary school.

  • is that the water flow testing

  • yeah I used a inspector test point to flow the water to create an alarm.
