Considerable funds have been given to develop these but they have not created wealth or stability. Instead the rich are very rich with everyone else poor. The poor are in desperate need to have a chance to live. Haiti leadership will not cope. The country cannot help itself. Infrastructure enhancement is a government responsibility even within the USA.

@meatpole 55: maybe you are too ignorant to know that but I believe the same stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt actually donated money and energy and effort to help rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina -- they spent more time in New Orleans than our ex-President. Beside, that's what I expect my TAX money to go: help people who are in need in our own country by providing welfare benefit, medical benefit and public housing so forth....not from a fundraiser concert by common citizens.

The world has given an estimated 2.3 TRILLION dollars in aid to Africa over the last 50 years. Another several billion has been allocated to Haiti. When will people realize that money does not work with these people. They are not intelligent enough to put that money to good use. I mean their I.Q. centers around 70. They said they had to wait for days to get their equipment as the American SOLDIERS ??????? had first priority to land. So what are the soldiers doing in order to help these people.

The day I woke up and my hubby said there has been an earthquake at Haiti, I thought dont tell me its H.A.A.R.P. As there is no proof of the H.A.A.R.P (WOMD) being used I shelved it. Then as I began to watch I saw how slow the aid was coming. I said OK because of the quake very few people can get to them. Its been 13 days now and still very very little help has arrived. WHY IS THIS? I see no soldiers, looting is becoming an issue, which suits the NWO as they will shoot to kill in a few days.

I'm not from USA and I don't know how that telethon was organize, but i think that if anybody wants to donate money to Haití or to any other place for humanitary reasons, i think the best way is to give it directly to an organisation like for ex. Doctors Without Borders, not to any tv channel you know........

Haiti was a planned attack by the American government to occupy Haiti to surround Venesuala and Cuba for WW3 that is planned 2 years from now. They can use HAARP to attack nations with Earthquakes, by directing high vibrational frequency's to the ground from the ionosphere. All the money that is being donated is not going to Haiti or the Haitian people its going to the U.S government to help fund a future war, and to build military bases and weapons in Haiti.

regardless of what these celebrities do on their own time and how they spend their money, they made an effort to come out and help. two things i wanna mention to the peeps below me. 1 Don't worry about what they donated. 2 nobody put a gun to your head and asked you to donate, its voluntary. cont 2.. Of live aid/usa for africa in ethopia. Many of the medical centres then were funded av now closed. A hospital for pregnant women is only been half used. many of the rooms r shut due to lack of staff and funding.A shop is selling the UNICEF nets 2 people and a lot of the HIV/AIDS drugs are being sold on the black market abroad. You need 2 look at the bigger picture instead of a quick fix. train people to take care of themselves give them respect that is a greater gift.

Shakira as said that she will build a school in Haiti. u have 2 look at the bigger picture Haiti was in crises before this. they had corrupt gov. u can keep throwing money into the country but the only people who can catch it is the goverment. All people complaining about other people's wealth, I have a question for you! How hard do you work to reach your goals? I have met so many who just complain about the injustice of so many being poor while so few are so wealthy. But most of these people are just lazy people who want everything easy.
