Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
I was at this show, and it was a gas. Sky definitely was in good form, and the backing band was good, and seemed respectful of Sky. It was around the time that bars and clubs are legally required to close down in Portland, and I suspect that has something to do with rather unceremoniously rushing Sky Saxon off stage. At any rate, it was a real treasure to see him again.
I had a chance to play with Sky when he visited crappy little Spokane, WA about 6 years ago with almost no band and they were in desperate need of a bass player. It was a painful experience and he did NOT wanna get of the stage and pretty much caused a scene even though the rest of us were all glancing at each other going "what the ****"
Agreed. A total lack of respect. However the back up group was should all rot in fucking hell. The fucking organ player pretty much ran off the stage. I wish i was at this show I would have went after the MC. What an inconsiderate asshole. Does anyone know if any of the original Seeds were on stage with Sky. I would hope not.
how sad, the band seem so serious rushing off the stage......and sky just wants to hang out a bit, then mr all-bussiness all but handcuffs him to get him to leave the stage.......sky has heapfulls more energy and honest enthusiasm than most musicians half his age.......god bless his wonderful soul.
No this was the resurrected Seeds, Sky asked me in 2001 to help get the Seeds going again and I did, it lasted until early 2006 (I played bass). we toured all over Europe and The U.S. and I believe this was the best line up since the original Seeds. Sky still plays with various members and I started The Woolly Bandits, that's it in a nutshell!
shk ruined this band ... and he was'nt a very good singer, i played guitar with daryll hooper the seeds keybordist in 1998-99
out side of jackson ca. i did a press interview with him at my house in jackson ca too in 1995 he explained what happned to the seeds, sky screwed every one out of royalty's in 1980 when he sold rights from under the band, the seeds disband in 1971. im glad to have met and worked with daryll..
If you mean Plant has lost his voice, yeah, too bad. Sky is just bull-shitting, he can sing if he has/wants to. He's not gonna bring his 'A' game to this dime store scene, he's hardly inspired.
Robert Plant has NOTHING on Sky, except a good band. If you want the truth, you want Sky. No need to check your ego at the door, he'll destroy it for you.
you have to remember there was varispeed vocal effects applied to the Seeds Stuidio recordings for the records, he NEVER sounded like he sounds on the records ;) Pioneer band!
varisepeed vocal effects?.......i think that' s bullshit......lol.......i would think that the music was recorded onto a 4 track reel-to-reel with no subtle speed variations and that that wasn't necessary to do in the first place.........like, "sky lets make u sound like a swamp rat cause that's what sells".......but i may be wrong.
OK spare us the 'smelly' details. Masochistic service in the presence of an idol, or were you just wasted? 37 years ago, do you think Sky would remember you?

How could Sky legally sell something that he didn't own?
generatrix999 3 years ago
Yeah Sky got ripped off by Gnp/Crescendo for those royalties just as much as the others!

The keyboardist is the only one who looks intelligent in, say, the video, "Can't Seem to Make You Mine."

I used to play this song on my college radio show all the time. I don't know if it was a hit or not but it was one of the better tracks on the album.

Yeah it's the same guy - Sky Saxon. I guess his voice deepened with age. Same thing happened to Elton and Brian Wilson

Awesome keyboard and guitar sound. Caught the lineup in Vegas... stupendous.
I would like to see Beatle Bob dancing on stage with the Seeds. I wonder how ol' Sky would react!
