What are your sources for the eyewitness reports? If its a blog or twitter, it cant be considered reliable. Anyone can use those and put false information to basically foment anger and stimulate reaction toward the government. Is the source from an offical news agency? If so, I would like to see the link. Also I might add that certain Iranian websites have undergone cyber attacks according to the Revolutionary Guard. Certain government officials websites have been tampered to make false info.

LegitHeel, my sources are people who I have talked to the phone. In one incident, they were begging the police to stop breaking the glasses to the businesses on the street that the protesters had gathered. There are also a ton of videos of riot guards and Basijis destroying public property and private residences. Just look around. There isn't one video of the protesters going around hitting cars and breaking windows.

How many people are you talking to on the phone? There has been only one clip on BBC persian of basij causing public property damange. You dont find clips on youtube of protesters causing damage because naturally protesters arent going to film themselves breaking the law. They are trying to present their own version of the protests which is distorted. But on Iranian television, its been shown. Sure, if you want to say both sides caused property damage. But describing the situation like that does not do it justice. The reason why we are having this exchange is because you said the property damage was caused "almost exclusively" by guards. Based on the police report, I would imagine there would be a whole lot more footage of what you claimed. Guards destroying property is an isolated incident. I agree that guards should avoid damaging property. Some police think they are above the law.

I believe on the 14th, 7 of them got killed because they were attempting an armed take over of a police station. In fact of the 20 Iranians killed in this tragedy, 8 of them were Basij. All of them shot. Based on American track record, its very possible for terrorists to blend among the protesters.

wow, no Mousavi is actually not at all like Ahmadinejad. He actually acknowlages and condemns the holocaust and also has called for social change to end descrimination against women. With Mousavi will come a new government, because mousavi will not be a leader of the old government.
