I've used the Centaur vs battle ships hit and run tactics always used subsystem targeting hit their weapons first then engines then shields. what sucks though is even when you or the other ship has full shields you can still knock out their generator or weapon array.
I love this game, typical Bethesda with lines repeated over and over. It's hilarious when you've been fighting a Borg ship for three minutes and your officer says "Captain, it's the Borg!"
I have it for the 360 but if I ever get a gaming PC, I'll get it for that so I can mod it.

@Reierdacool Smoke is just the left overs from fire that warm and light enough to float. And in space, everything is warm and light enough to float. Probably so much that you wouldn't see such dense streams of smoke...
@Reierdacool If you have fire, you will have soot and byproduct gases. Might not be technically smoke, but it would appear similar. As long as the ship is moving, it will trail behind like smoke would.

That is not a Vor'cha the Enterprise is fighting. That's just a Klingon battleship from it's own time. The Enterprise would stand more than a chance against a piece of junk like that with Kirk in command! :p

This game could have been great if they had had things like cutscenes (at least, cutscenes that involved more than voiceovers while starships sit around doing nothing) and in-mission checkpoints (particularly egriegious during the "Protect the planet from asteroids" mission).
Star Trek IS more than battles of course. However, it is still interesting sometimes. Hmmm, interesting match between a constitution refit and Klingon Battlecruiser. I would imagine that the Battlecruiser is the more powerful of the two though at least by a small margin. By this time though the Excelsior class is in space and would be more than a match.
Legacy is a good game for trekkies who like Star Wars. Mindless violence is fun, but pointless. It is in fact a fun game, but it doesn't have the gameplay of a Star Trek game. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's a game that's not about Star Trek.
It was a bitch, but I beat a Negh'Var with a Constitution refit. He was about to pass through a nebula so I warped to the exit and hit him before his shields restored. Try it out

Never repair while fighting. It significantly slows down weapon and shield recharge and causes more hull damage.

The PC version of this game is ONLY good once you install the Ultimate Universe mod for it. At that point, it becomes a really good game, with scenarios from the films and tv shows (like we were promised from Bethesda) and just overall better play mechanics. Seriously, if you have this game and want to give it another try, just get the Ultimate Universe mod. It's well worth it, believe me. I hated the game before I downloaded the mod and now play it quite often.
