  • @MegaWildanimal i don't. hoo yah.

  • @mudd4355 i was a triple threat too! choir. but...like 15-16 years after u. lol.

  • Children

  • lol. i had my cell phone all thru boot camp. never got caught all 8 weeks

  • Wow.. Boot has changed a lot since 04.. This is kinda pathetic..

  • Anyone willing to talk shit... Division 910 Great Mistakes 12/01/95 Triple Threat during the Boot. All you little shits don't know what it is to be a Squid. We are made into someone different as a result. Not your momma telling you its okay to have long hair and an attitude.

  • What the hell happened to the initial haircut!? I call bullshit. This new 'kinder, gentler' NAVY is a crock of shit. Quote me on it. Every man that has been with me, died in my arms or has even been connected with the us was put through a bootcamp much more strenuous that this crap. They are all fucked. Pussies.

  • One person was discharge from boot camp because he failed the drug test.

  • i kinda miss boot camp hoo-yah

  • every bootcamp is different right. Cause Im surprise That the girls and boys have to sleep at the same place.

  • @kawaii51514 They do not sleep together, the muster together and do training together. They sleep in separate compartments.

  • do you underrrrstaaayyyyggnd.....?

  • I went through in 08. Nothing like these videos. They scream, yelled and threw chairs across the space. If you screwed up, they made an example of you.

  • I almost joined the Navy but went Air Force instead. Much respect to all our branches

  • Man, I remember that long, quiet bus ride from Chicago/O'Hare to RTC, but the only thing different was we had to run inside that building as soon as we got off the bus. There was no walking lol

  • Well guys and girls. Im off to boot tomorrow, wish me luck!

  • @bubblybrooke92 trust me. you will be FINE. I was nervous as shit. I barely could do a push up, and ran like...half a lap. They'll help u. That's what they're there for is to help you. I just graduated boot on the 29th. My final PFA? 1.5 miles in 13 min 54 sec. 60 push ups 55 situps. Trust me when I say you'll be FINE.

  • @808melz oh absolutely. if u can handle that much estrogen, everything else is a breeze.

  • i remember that petty officer at 3:50! ahhhhh/ if u can get thru P-days, u will make it thru the rest of boot camp. Hardest part? not being able to talk to family and dealing with 60 other females in the same compartment. toooo much estrogen. lolz

  • @NatedogJr That is a good point, it very well could be the PC version. I hope so to be honest. If you want to join, join for you and not your father. For me, it made me grow into a full adult and gave me perspective on life. If you join, make sure you learn a trade that you love AND will help you find employment should you decide to not re-enlist. Remember, bootcamp is a process and its a mind f&#k to get you thinking different in relation to military service. Good luck to ya Jr.

  • @jeepman209 What I meant is that my dad influeneced me to be consider joining the US Navy. If he never enlisted, my thoughts of joining would be low. I am also in Navy JROTC, too. Not only service to country, but on the job training is another reason. I'd go for IT, Master-at Arms, Operations Specialist, Intelligence Specialist. The tech field. NOT Boatswains. All I need is my license to drive, raise my ASVAB score to 65 at least (expired), and lose about 40lbs.

  • @NatedogJr You can do it i was 245 before i got into the dep and i dropped to 216 and am now 207 i leave in 48 days

  • @8:30, with all due respect Chief, there are plenty of badasses in the Navy

  • @RepublicanNatio I also went in '07. I also had GSM2 Forbes and our brother division had AT2 Todd. Forbes was cool as shit though. That guy really set the bar. Had MAC Martin too.

  • @GawdImTom yeah he beat the shit out of us.

''time to get the blood flowing'' - gsm2 forbes

  • Really? This is what US Navy bootcamp has become? I'm kind of embarassed to be honest. I went through boot in San Diego WAAAAY back in 1985. We never called the Drill instructors "Chief" until we graduated. And whats this talking to them like they are children? And the DI's allowing them to whisper a response?? The only time we werent being ordered and/or yelled at is when we were asleep, and even then there were no guarentees. What is this pussified bullshit? No wonder the Air Farce laughs.

  • @jeepman209 That was in 1985. It's almost 2012. A 27 year difference. Not everything will be the EXACT same as you left it. Some say this is the "politically correct" video to show to the potential recruit so the recruit wont be intimidated into joining. Even I have not joined, I have a feeling it is not like the video. There will be yelling, just not like the Marine Corps.

I am even considering joining in next year because of my dad (1992 to 2002).

  • @jeepman209 No my brother in law is an RDC and it's still intense. Yelling screaming beating recruits (not physical abuse it's individual training when they fuck up) I think they just made them be nice for the video so they don't scare people away.

  • lol these navy guys are lucky they were taught how to shave, my first night at basic, everybody came out of the latrine looking like they had just ate hotdogs with a gallon of ketchup.... blood everywhere. good times

  • um ya that much and im going to the navy and i cant sleep the first hole night MANNNN!!!

  • Are there always this many people at bootcamp?

  • @futurebboy pretty much

  • Why the hell am i watching this? Im still pretending that none of this really happened. 804!

  • we go hard in the paint! hahahahahah

  • why did they have X's on their hands? Is there some kind of bar there?

  • Oh, the memories. There was WAY more yelling than this. In fact I remember someone getting their urine sample chucked across the room because they failed to follow orders! =)

  • lol, I remember walking through those doors... locked up, ohwell MMC Franklin was kool =P

  • Boot camp looks soft now I went through it years ago and there was ALOT more yelling.

  • wtf theres no yelling at all? like there hella nice and shit? haha wtf damn navy is hella different o_O

  • @doublebasscrazy17 no no no...there is yelling...and lots of it, they just aren't gonna do it on camera and scare off possible recruits.

  • MY BAD UM WHEN WE MADE CALLS WE WERE ABLE TO USE OUR PHONES BECAUSE THE PHONES DIDNT ALL WORK AND THERE WERENT ENOUGH AND> THE LADY THAT WAS TALKING TO THE GIRLS WAS THE SAME ITCH THAT MADE ME WEAR TIGHT ASS BRAS

  • cell phones???? damn... lucky kids...

  • @ordoqui NOT REALLY SOME PEOPLE GOT "BEAT" WHEN THEY FOUND OUT

  • at 12:39 the guy said "chief and I go hard in the paint"

  • are women allowed to shave there heads in the Navy?

  • @CassieDynomite No they are not allowed to. just follow the rules for hair for felmales in the navy,

  • The girl at 02:48 wore a jagermeister jacket to rtc. lol

  • capt bethke was alot thinner when i went thru

    lol

  • capt bethkewas alot thinner when i went thru

    lol

  • capt bethkewas alot thinner when i went thru

  • Hooyah! im leaving for RTC on Oct. 25!

  • YEEAAHH!! PINOY D.I.!!

  • my division talked all the damn time , and we got beat for it.

  • ah the ever fun days of a recruit. its been over 2 years since RTC

  • @archenemies32

yea its been almost 2 years here too

  • this video brought back allot of memories

  • LOL

  • i went last year and its not hard at all, well the lack of sleep blew but it wasnt detrimental. im almost done with builder a school

  • when i enlist im going to me nervous as fuck!

  • @123nypd The first week is the hardest. Once you and your company start working together it will be better.

  • females do not have to cut their hair. as long as it doesn't touch our collars it's fine

  • omg thank god im joining the marines so i dont have to cut my hair...

  • This pumped me up to go

  • hooyah lever 2000

  • Can someone post a link to PART 2?

  • @supreme2005 there is no part 2.

  • @RepublicanNatio july to september 07, div 310 uss chicago. i hear yeah, i had an hm1 for an rdc, so we had no remorse.

  • @budwiesner1234 haha yeah...fucking hm's were salty as fuck since most were fmf. You getting ready to sep next month? I go on terminal leave july 26th

  • @budwiesner1234 I also remember how at the airport there were about 4-5 actual rdc's there waiting for us, and they were screaming like no other at us in front of everyone Lol they didnt seem to yell in this one

  • @budwiesner1234 + i was in an all male div, all male divs tended to have it much worse than mixed divs. I remember my best friend joined with me and he got into a mixed div and he told me the shit was like summer camp and they only got beat like 3 times total. Lol shit we got beat more than 3 times DAILY. He also said the females would fuck the division over by snitching and shit.

  • @RepublicanNatio dude, i know all about that. i was too in an all male division. i remember making it rain at 0200 in the morning. ah good times. where u at? i just finished a tour on the nimitz.

  • @budwiesner1234 i just got back to norfolk i was on the enterprise and im just doing desk duty stuff till i go on terminal leave in a month. Whats your rate?

  • @budwiesner1234 and yeah we never made it rain, but we did have an ''ice cream party''. basically what chief did was he bought this huge 3-4 gallon tub of strawberry ice cream and sat it in the compartment. Then beat us until it all melted (took a good 3-4 hours) holy fucking shit it was nuts. We had to wear everything, sweater, utilities, ski mask, watch cap, scarf, raincoat, gloves. My god man lmao its funny looking back at it now, but it was a living hell in its present

  • @budwiesner1234 that being said id def do it again in a heartbeat knowing what i know now, shit looks way to fucking easy now tho, i really do hope this video is watered the fuck down

  • @RepublicanNatio it is watered down. but i heard they said 8 counts are hazing now because of the 1-2-3-4-3-4-3-4 repetition.

  • @budwiesner1234 Because it was nothing like what we went through.

  • @budwiesner1234 Lol i remember when our fucking arpoc left his motherfucking a and b drawer unlocked at night, fucking OOD comes in and was walking around, i was on roving, the OOD took the arpocs drawer and just slammed it in the middle of the compartment, it sounded like a grenade went off, then the ood proceeded to wake everyone up and we all got fucking destroyed for it, then when our rdcs came in the next day we immediately got beat again for it Lol

  • @budwiesner1234 Nothing like starting the day off ''getting the blood flowing'' as my chief would say doing mountain climbers. Also dude, i watched another video on here all they have to do now when they wake up is get on line immediately in whatever they are wearing in 30 seconds at reveille, i remember we woke up we had to fucking get everything on. sweater, utilities, fucking boots, in 30 fucking seconds and be on line, and if we werent, well, we got the blood flowing! every fucking morning!

  • @budwiesner1234 and wtf these recruits using cell phones n shit lol we had no fucking cell phones

  • @RepublicanNatio

that was just to make the first call home if you didnt have change or a calling card or whatever , a few mins after that call it gets taken away from you

  • What if you got to take a dump while doing PT?

  • OOORAH HM1 Dickerson!

  • lol some girl has a jagermeister sweater at 2:47

  • oh i miss my skivvies lol

  • I love my lever 2000 and my body sponge!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-) FCSN 1st year next month....

  • god i remember this day. SHITIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!

  • When I whent through RTC it was in San Diego 12 weeks of pure fun! That was back in 1976. That was when the Navy did not baby you. Special Company 950. I carried a saber as a brigade adjatant. When we whent throught the graduation cerimony as I passed the officers and my C.O. master chief petty officer Belt and I made eye contact with him, he made me feel so proud he said "LOOKING GOOD!!! Young. I will never forget my boot camp experience.

  • When I whent through RTC it was in San Diego 12 weeks of pure fun! That was back in 1976. That was when the Navy did not baby you.

  • Bring on June 27th!! I can't wait!! just saw my bf off and I was like, "You lucky ass! gettin to go before me!!" Good luck everyone going, and God Bless!

  • Navy Recruit Training Command, San Diego, CA., Camp Nimitz, Division 3, Company 212, Billet # 27 1991.

God Bless You Company Commander Gullaher and Company Commander Aguilera.

And God Bless the United States Navy and it's Men and Women.

  • tall chick with the hoody better wipe that smirk off her face. female version of private pile!

  • MAY 24 !!

  • @sophisticatedfee Fair winds and following seas future sailor. When you first get off the bus you're going to think "What the fuck have I done!?" but that will pass. Things will rapidly get better for you, just stick with it and don't give up. Think of your family, your friends, and what you want out of life to keep yourself motivated. You can do it, just like many before you have done as well.

  • @budwiesner1234 this is an instructional video so they are trying to keep the little scared ones from crying. im actually kinda pumped to get yelled at because its motivation for me

  • no yelling? navy has changed even since when i went to boot camp in 07. wtf?

  • @budwiesner1234 This video is politically correct. They didn't show any of the yelling on purpose. If you look though, the last minute or so of the video is the lead up to an IT session. Notice how the Chief is talking about how "Ya'll have been fowling me all day." That means it's time to pay up. ;p

  • I'm looking forward to challenge myself too.

  • leave for boot on june 8th :)

  • It's great life changing experience...Excited!

  • I leave May 18th 2011.. Nervous as well. Can't wait though.

  • @Fiercesword lol, trust me... I was there a year ago, and still live in Great Lakes. This is a joke, a recruiting video so people don't think boot camp is hard and will join. This is a G-rated, fake version of what really happens. I recognize some of the RDC's, but...be forewarned, this video is NOTHING like what I experienced. It's 1000 times louder, in your face (literally), and brutal. You'll see what I mean in three weeks! >:) Enjoy!

  • i leave May 5th 2011 cant wait but im fkn nervous :)

  • Anybody else notice Obama look-alike at 13:18?

  • shipping 20110824 cant wait! almost here

  • I leave for Navy boot camp June 2nd 2011. Watching kinda scares me, yet excites me. I already know my RTC Maxim and 11 General Orders. Which will help a lot. Hardest part is leaving the life I know behind, and starting a new one.

  • Omfg...this was posted on my 19th birthday! Haha weird lol Tyler & Nathon are cute :) just saying lol

  • I've been out of this place almost two years. I still have flashbacks when I go into the uniform store and use that shaving cream.

  • haha sad music during haircuts`

  • I'll be going to Pensecola, FL for A school. I have a homeport guarantee in Washington State, that'll be my permanant base for awhile. What's your job?

  • @baseball3306 Sounds fun! I hear a lot of stories about that place. I got LS as my rating, not the best. But it's clerical, so I took it. Haha. How about you?

  • @xoNavyNina Haha yeah i hear alot of stories about it too. That's not a bad job I got Airmen which is a mechanic job. I wanted something in the aviation field so I took that.

  • @baseball3306 Maybe I will see you there! I'm going to Meridian, MS for A school. How about you?

  • oh okie thank you >:D this video has been really helpful to both calm my nerves about boot camp and to scare me shitless >< but then again that could just be me lol thanks for posting and it was helpful

  • our daughter is a proud graduate of Great Lakes RTC - No cell phones @ boot camp, no time for it n e way. If u bring one they'll have u ship it home the first night with your personal belongings so no reason 2 bring it, except for maybe while waiting at the airport. You can have it back upon graduation so ask any family coming to bring it for u (You'll have tix for 4 guests @ PIR- Pass in Review, aka graduation). Good luck & thank u for your service!

  • i am leaving 20110706 what did they say about cell phones?

  • do they not teach you how to fight in the navy thats so stupid if they dont

  • @AmericanGMS Why would you need to fight in a boat or submarine? O.K

  • @xoNavyNina what if somehow ppl get on the ship and you dont have a gun with you what about that

  • @AmericanGMS Right... Someone's going to invade a HEAVILY loaded combat ship. & How do you invade a submarine? And if that were to happen, why would I not have a gun while in a combat zone? But, whatever you say. ;)

  • Can't wait for bootcamp! 20110418

  • I'm going 20110414

  • @baseball3306 That's so cool, just 4 days before me. =)

  • Comment removed

  • @xoNavyNina I know, I'm ready maybe I'll see you there? Where are you going after basic?

  • @xoNavyNina I'm going 20110414

  • Bootcamp is lot softer now....

  • I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE! I ship out 20110405 and I'm going in as an E-3. HM as well.

  • @lunacyfringelove no shit, how old are you? do you have a degree?

  • @Str8Trapstar90

I'm 26 years old. Yeah, I'm getting old. *tear* haha I have 147 credit hours and no degree. When the economy went bad, I lost my financial aid. BTW, I was double majoring so that's why I have a lot of credit hours.

  • also. chief on ditty. try your hardest to get your 3rd class before you leave a-school. its eaisest if you go into boot camp as an e-3, because you will get it six months later the two months of bootcamp count. but i've seen a lot of people leave great lakes without their crow and it takes them another six months to a year at their new command because they only advance every six months instead of monthly like a great lakes.

  • @grass088 I have a brother in law whose a chief and says i should go in there undesignated? whats your thoughts on that

  • @Str8Trapstar90 i personally wouldn't do it. the only advantage to undes is that you can "strike" for any rate after a certain amount of time. so theoritically you could study to become any rate in the navy short of a nuke. however the whole time you are undes you are going to be doing work nobody else wants to do. undes is pretty much low man on the totem pole. if you join the navy i would tell you to know your rate before you join. have it in writing in your contract.

  • Wow!...about time they updated the Navy Bootcamp video. I ship out for bootcamp 20110316...just a few more days before I go thru. Navy salute or shoot!

  • damn boot camp was actually pretty fun after the first two weeks, actually kinda miss it lol, its the other side of the great mistakes that sucks lol, im sure other ETs and FCs can agree with that haha.

  • @reelcowboy2003 why does it suck for ETs and FCs? I'm in the DEP as AECF

  • @Chiefontheditty a-school sucks for et's and fc's because you go directly across the street for your a-school. its basically 8-12 more months of boot camp. F'n sucks, but once you get out of there its worth it. You don't get to pick ET or FC they just give it to you. No clue how the decide, i got FC and couldn't be happier. Training was backed up at one point and some ET's and FC's were stuck on a-school side for over a year, but i heard its moving a lot quicker now. Good luck.

  • @reelcowboy2003 agreed. i will never go back there.

  • LOVE THIS BRING BACK MEMORIES FROM 1971 BOOT CAMP WHEN THE CC WOULD YELL AND SOMETIMES HIT.

  • I cant believe this was me 4 years ago, this day sucked but I have good memories from it, and made friends for life, people that I when through boot cam with then through corps school and field med I still work with, its crazy..

  • holy cow man..this was filmed the day before i got there, couple of my division mates were in it. that black dude they focused on in the airport, dumas...lol...he got ASMOed like twice, and then Hance, the jewish lookin guy with the glasses and black shirt u see like 5 times in the first section, lol, but yea, bootcamp was the shit, i still look back on it and apreciate how fun it was and how much i learned, those of you going in, goodluck, its tough, goodluck everyone

  • equality they should make the females shave their heads too.

  • @Robidob no they shouldnt shut up

  • @Robidob

and have the same physical fitness standards...

  • Wow the memories that brings! It actually makes me miss it. It's not that bad. Just look at it as a game. You vs the RDCs. Remember that nothing is personal. Do what you're told. Do it right the first time and all will be fine. Good luck shipmates.

    ET3

  • @iamdjthr33 bro they should ASMO you back to high school learn how to write.

    IYAOYAS,,,, bitches

  • oooooooooh the dam memories............this video makes it look somewhat bad....if people only new go bad it really is....but i love my job

    Go NAVY

  • I can't believe they got to use cell phones when calling home.... BULL$H!T!!!

  • I leave 5/9/2011 wish me luck!

  • ah the memories...

  • They weren't really that easy on us, they just let up a little for the cameras. I was the first one Chief checked for a shave in the video. This is 008 and 007, and there were a lot more of us than they show in the beginning of this video. We dreaded the words "Turn off the camera!" You'll notice a few times they pause in their speeches; they're trying not to curse in front of the camera.

  • "SLEEP!"

    "ahhh sleep, chief."

  • @samb4658 what division were you in?

  • i leave on tuesday :)

  • @garfield62390 Me too!!

  • @WHATIDidntknowthat see you there shipmate!!!

  • @garfield62390 Yep! I'll be seein ya there!

  • funny. get up 5 min before reveille and use the head first. otherwise just go with the flow. the rdc's aren't after you personally, they are just doing their job.

  • yeah i'm not too far removed from bootcamp. Some tips. Physically, not too challenging. Biggest things is just be able to run the 1.5 miles in your time before you go. Really will make your life easier. You can google your times. or go to military.com. Know how to swim. Those are the two things physically that some people struggle with. Otherwise like i said earlier. Follow the rules, and you will be fine. You will screw up day 1/night 1. Everyone does. When you look back its...

  • I wish my RDC's were that nice when I was in hahaha

  • oh wow. like it was yesterday... for all you nukes just know two things 1-hot rock makes boat go and 2- REDUUUUUUCE!!!!!!!

  • Brings back memories...ahhh

Did seem alot softer than they were on me- they did not even have the boot camp video to give us ANY idea when I went- all surprises...Fair winds and following seas...New Recruits, Thanks for what you do!

  • That guy at the airport was in my division, and was supposed to be at my training command, but let us just say, he is a lesson in not screwing up once you graduate.

Do as you are told, make sure your buddies do the same, drink water, easiest eight weeks. Get through and do something real in the Navy.

  • the guy at the airport that briefed the new recruits got yelled at by my rdc because he yelled at us saying hes a petty officer , yea hes a seaman lol , good time though

  • Comment removed

  • looks tough.

    oohrah, semper fi.

  • and a few hours later after they went to sleep (at the end of this vid), me and my division came in to Bootcamp, good times...

  • Corpsman 6 yr PO1 - pretty hard to do nowadays...

  • I can't wait to join. I'm going tomorrow to take my practice test. If it's a fail hitting the a.s.v.a.b. harder. Looking forward to the navy.
