I have this game. It was very good in that the movements were very fluid and lifelike. I dunno if I'd go as far as to say it's better than the Fight Night series though. Perhaps if they made one for the PS3 it could be.

This never was the best boxing game. How can you call a game the best when its gameplay is so fucking slow and the fact that you can't tell if your winning or losing? Even in real life a boxer knows when he's losing a fight or winning. This game fuckin sucked enough said.

Man I remember nights playing this game, one of my favourite PS2 games. So challenging if you want it to be and also really addictive. Something about it makes you want to come back and play more, while fight night is rather dull after a while. I love the soundtrack to this game, added something to the matches too.

The Fight Night series has nothing on Victorious Boxers. The first Fight Night is borderline unplayable since Round 2/3 came out. Round 2 is nothing but "who can rotate the joystick quicker" haymaker fests, and Round 3, well, on the PS2 is just a haymaker-less version of 2, and on the next-gen systems is a pretty looking wrapper hiding an otherwise average game (with below average AI).

I agree that in Fight Night the AI sucks, but I like how the punches are all mapped to the analog stick and you can throw punches from any angle, as well as clinch, control the cutman, play as real life boxers as well as make your own, etc.. there's just more to it, and it feels more realistic at least to me.. Victorious Boxers is still a great alternative though.

This was the best boxing game until Fight Night came out. It's still pretty good... has it's own distinct look and feel. EA tried to rip this game off with analog bobbing and weaving with Knockout Kings 2002-2003 but this game did it much better.

I am an avid boxing fan, this IS the best boxing game every created in terms of gameplay. This game is addictive, a lot more fun than fight night. I like fight night as well don't get me wrong, but those in the know will tell you that fight night's game play was based off of Victorious Boxers, so if you have't played it, don't trash it. A worth while buy!!!

This IS better, and much more advanced, than Fight Night. I was a huge, avid Fight Night fan, and upon picking up a copy of this game, I have to admit it is clear that this is the better boxing game.

We should petition that a sequel be made for the X360, but give it an even more distinct anime feel too it. I don't mean turn it into another DBZ Budokai; just make the characters look more like their artwork counterparts.
