And why did they get rid of the 8-match limit (from the first bonus round format, because technically 8 wins automatically wins you a car, since for each day you appear on the show, you move one letter in the proper position; the 8th day would be an automatic win) and replace it with only 3? It's best if it's unlimited until the champ is defeated or wins a car. Making the bonus round a bit tougher was enough.
But little did they know that the harder format could still be won. Besides, the harder format could still be a little easier (and more true to the main game format) if all 5 words had a common bond. Still not as easy as the first bonus format.

The 2nd bonus round would be much easier if all 5 words had a common bond. You know, have a category.
