I have 1024x768 in a hp mini and I don't see the windows 7 boot screen I see the old vista boot screen can anyone help? I alredy put the command propt comands
@moe4life95 I installed windows 7 on a netbook with 1GB of ram and it did the same thing. I think one of the reasons is that to speed up the boot process, they removed the fancy splashscreen. Not 100% on that though. Also, does yours show just the windows vista loading bar, or the icon animation too?
@moe4life95 Depending on your hardware and the available resolution supported by your hardware, you may get the Vista style boot screen. I believe you need a 1024x768 resolution or more to have the new animation. Also your hardware may be inefficient (netbook?).
@cumulus0007 yeah its true!I tested windows 7 on my old laptop (p4 ,512ram and 64mbgraphycs card) and it was going as fast as my new pc (p4 dual core overclocked at 3.2ghz,3gb ram and gt240 gddr5 1gb)
Wow thats pritty awesome. How long after the release date would companies release their software to be compatiable to Windows 7? Cause I'm getting a Dell but I want to wait till 7 is avaliable but it takes to long for all the other companies to make their software compatiable I would just get the computer next month with Vista
The boot screen is awesome!. I can't wait till companys make programs to edit the boot screen and we could choose a ANIMATED VERSION Of the boot screen!. YAY!
ultimate is the best but compared to xp SP3 its not better since the booting of xp and the software itself is smoother than windows vista but y vista isnt smooth is becuz maybe ur computer is SH**!
u maybe need a better computer like better graphic and speed GHz or a new motherboard and more RAM or need to repair ur sync files for ur windows and repair them
sometimes ppl just complain becuz the windows vista is SLOW -.-
And that's a mistake Microsoft Made. They put Vista on low end computers for various companys (Sony, Toshiba etc). On laptops they put vista and it's slow as hell. I got vista on this laptop of mine when I got this. And it was slow. Till I downloaded Windows 7 and it's faster than vista and uses more effects than it. Win7 could work on Low PC's. It's stable and has more compatabillity than Vista with older programs mean't for WinXP. Vista uses RAM. Win7 uses only 400 MB of ram than vista.
i use vista all the time and I running crysis very well, 50 - 60 fps on high settings for everything, good for most games, very stable machine as well, but I will support microsoft and their new os as soon as it gets released on Oct 22 2009
I dont think Vista is crap I think none of the OS's are I dont care XP is faster, smoother or what. It is no race! I can understand that Mac and Windows wanna be betetr than eachother. But I just dont we old and walk with Windows XP or Windows ME(really old) there is already Windows 7; get a newer version. but it's no race. You guys should be glad there is an OS......

I have Vista, and I works just fine for me. Everyone thinks Vista is glitchey, you should have seen XP before SP1 was released, it was bad. Even worse than Vista, some people find it hard to understand that.
Vista was crap before service pack 1 trust me i know had to do a lot of downgrades too XP. Since service pack 1 though it has been a lot more reliable than my xp ever was. Have you even tried it or do you just follow what everyone else says? I'm sorry but don't speak when you shouldn't your probably just angry because your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for vista. =(
And I downgraded day after using it, I can speak for most when I say its shit cause you cant run into 10 people without 8-9 saying it is shit. All reviewers say it sucks, it was Microsofts biggest failure for an OS. Its a huge memory hog and theres no real reason to want it or use it. Doesn't provide anything new for the sluggishness and annoyances of itself.
whatupual is right.. you follow what everyone else says, the memory hog is actually a feature called superfetch, that keep your programs prefetched and it can be disabled, sorry if you cant run vista in your crappy 256 ram machine but things do change, even more on pcs
Reality check, Windows 7 is better than Vista. Windows 2008 makes a better desktop than Vista. Vista is just good and sucking. If you just post shit on youtube then vista is fine for doing that.
Actually, I bet you could run into 10 people who have used it more than 1 day (unlike your dumbass) and say Vista is awesome. I really like Vista... I bet you are just one of those people who tried to upgrade their computer to vista, when it CLEARLY didn't have the specs.
And I bet most of those people are "light" users who mainly use word processors and the internet among other "light" tasks. For doing any serious demanding tasks, XP succeeds and Vista falls flat. Sure, it looks pretty but it's slower (because of poor optimisation of the OS, not hardware) 7 seems to back on form in this area, and Microsoft even admitted they screwed up Vista.
Vista is no ME... but it's certainly one of their darkest hours.
That is true, I probably wouldn't recommend Vista for people less then a Duo core processor 2GB RAM (my sister's computer runs fine with these specs and it has Home Premium). Now Windows 7 seems GREAT in my opinion, because I have been beta testing it a little bit and it seems to work fine. I think I just THINK I like vista because I have 2.33Ghz Quad Core Processor and 8GB RAM.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Vista has been vastly superior even on my 939 system and was a no brainer for my Core2. I am using Win7 on my i7 now and Vista was a way larger step forward. XP created far more problems than Vista at launch, and is also far less stable. That is what leads me to believe that the remaining whiners are children with short histories of computing.
Only 2 (or 3 perhaps) since Vista was released and Windows 7 is coming very soon, infact the Windows Seven Release Candidate 1 is now online! And I would only choose Windows or Mac and not your crappy way too difficult Linux!
Linux isn't difficult, its simply a tool for civilised beings. Windows is for the gullable believers... hence all the viruses, in which most are obtained by "omg look at my cool download!". You get that on Linux, but nobody downloads them, because they can think for themselves. LOL
That made no sense asshole, it probably did to you considering 80% of windows computers are used a proxys/bnc/shells. I'll laugh when you cry because somebody is downloading porn via your pc.
Your reply is so ridiculous that I actually don't WANT to reply. But I do reply because otherwise you wouldn't know that I don't want to reply. Because of that I did reply. The outcome is you don't believe that I didn't want to reply.
The boot loader is a glimmer of hope. Hopefully Windows 7 will live up to expectations. Not too high after Vista but hopefully we won't see Windows ME v3
Go into your favourite search engine and type Server 2008 vs Vista.
Then search for: MS admits vista. Even after the SP1 update, it's still a resource hog. Server 2008 which is based on the same kernel isn't such a resource hog.

hey, just a question, I've heard that build 7000 was a fake, posted on some torrent pages because you are only able to download build 6595, or something from microsoft page.. is it real? does it go well for you? sorry 'bout my mistakes while writing, I'm spanish, and I'll apreciate if you answer me.
No build 7000 is real...I did get it from torrents though. It works very well for me...there are new features like desktop peak, snipping tool, the new "super toolbar", and much more.
make up your mind man. you say you had build 7000 (which you can't because it has not been released) and then you say you can't wait for it to come out.
What??? No, you misunderstand...I HAVE build 7000. Build 7000 is a BETA...NOT THE FULL VERSION OF WINDOWS 7...I said I can't wait for the FULL version of Windows 7 when it's released.
well uhhh vista has not released the specs however its basicly the same as vista but lower because windows 7 is a downgraded version of vista in a way less demanding but its not that cool i have it and i kind of enjoy vista more. also anything that works with vista works with 7.
well 7 is better i just lost my wireless adapter disc so i can't get internet so i don't use it cause i have no internet in it. also if you doing to use it make sure to install it on a different partion so you can keep vista.
Don't worry i found the drivers only real problem now is that windows 7 can't identify my C drive because i have it installed on a different partition.
NO!! You don't have to unistall anithing!!! Just right click on "Computer" and "Manage"
Then Go to "Disk Management" and there is the partition where Vista is installed. You just have to right click on that driver and select "Change Driver Letter or Path" a attribuit a letter to the partition...
if you hadn't find a solution, let me tell you: when I first try vista, I also installed xp on a different partition, and the same came to me, vista dissapeared, but i downloaded a program called vistaboot pro, followed the instructions posted on the web and then I recovered both the boot from vista and xp.. sorry about my mistakes while writing, i'm spanish.
you can also make a backup copy of the root files in your C drive (making sure you have hidden and system files as well). Store that in another place, and then if you want to go back, paste all those files in the root of your C drive using a tool CD like the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. That's how I was able to keep my Windows XP-x64 bootup on a computer that already had 2 versions of Windows XP installed (32 bit and 64-bit). I formatted the 32-bit XP install which was on my C drive.
Tiny circles are not in any way, shape, or form a trademark or ripoff.
The ps2's tiny circles don't even do anything but exist. They are not the focus at all, but in this boot screen, they are the only thing present other than text. They are the focus here; they turn into the damn logo, for Pete's sake. The ps2's circles just disappear.
it has windows media player 12 too. bit awkward to work with but it shouldnt take long to get used to. i like the way they've seperated the console and the video screen. and as for the speed of booting and shutting down. damn its fast, even on a crappy pentium 4 system with 256mb ram

I used the latest driver pack for my model (Geforce 2MX), directly downloadable from Nvidia (ForceWare 93.71 whql) This did not work strait from the setup.exe file. I had to point to the (unpacked setup file) directory from within the Device Manager/Update driver.
I did disabled most of the services that I will never use and all the (for me useless) "beauty/goody's" that comes with this new Windows release.
Windows 7 setup took for ages at step 2 (unpacking the files...) Booted really fast afterwards (much faster then a clean XP SP3 install) Some hardware was not found like the Ethernet Card and Sound Card. I used a self modified Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 series Driver (2.09.0016) for XP, wich worked directly from the setup file. For updating the Windows 7 standard VGA driver (max 1024x768)
Hi, I have this smoot running on a 8 year old PC. Mainboard: Epox EP-8K3A (FSB @ 183MHz), Processor: AMD Athlon 1700+ @ 2GHz, Memory: 512MB DDR @ 183MHz (2-2-2-5 1T), Video card: Hercules 3D Prophet II MX (Nvidia Geforce 2MX), Sound Card: Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live! (Model: SB0060 Chip: EMU10K1-SEF), Ethernet Card: Realtek RTL8029AS, Hard Disk Drive: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80Gb ATA/133, CD-RW Drive: Plextor PX-W1610TA, DVD Drive: Pioneer DVD-106S, WORKS LIKE A BREEZE :)
I'm using Windows 7 M3 as my primary OS on one of my laptops. It works great and runs all my applications, including KasperSky internet security and Adobe CS4. And it's way more stable then Vista.
Are you guys really sure this has DX11? I really can't believe that DX10 came and went that quickly, it still feels new to me... but I'll readily welcome DX11 if that's the case!
Little tip for those who want to use it to the expiry month of August 2009 ;) Either Try find an old Windows Vista beta serial (can only activate up to 10 pc's) to activate it, as they'll work with it, or format and reinstall around the end of December and use the 30 day trial until January for the official public beta to come out when they give away free codes to activate until December 2009 :) All beta's and pre-beta's last 12 months from the date the build was made.
Well you can download Windwos 7 from P2P networks and it will allow you to use it without a license for 30 days with full functionality. If you're running Vista, then click Start; right click on the "Computer" tile and click manage. Click "Storage" then "Dick Managment." Right click on your main HD and click "shrink." Enter the amount of MB you want to use for Win7, like 15,000. Burn the Win7 Disc, put it in your disc drive and restart your computer.
It will say "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD," so press something. When the Win7 disc boots up, select your language and keyboard layout and click next. Click "Install" then click "Custom". Select the HD space you allocated before, and click next. Windows 7 will begin to install and will automatically set up a dual boot between Vista and 7.
Note: The installation will reboot about twice. You only need to boot from the DVD the first time. Ignore all other prompts to boot.
It's pretty similar, the only real difference is the "Extras" section, but that part doesn't work because they haven't yet set up the service to use it. This version wasn't even supposed to be publicky available so a lot of the online services don't work yet. However in this one the taskbar works a lot better. The one in build 6801 was really buggy. They also fixed a lot of the bugs in Windows Media Player. Aero Peek and desktop preview works in this one as well, which is what I was waiting for.

You've either tampered with certain system files, or you are using a resolution that simply doesn't support the new boot screen.

No build 7000 is real...I did get it from torrents though. It works very well for me...there are new features like desktop peak, snipping tool, the new "super toolbar", and much more.
ishmaboy 3 years ago
yeah, you're right; i just download it from microsoft site and it's build 7000 too. and so far I'm happy with it. thanks!
johdag 3 years ago
Build 7000 is a final build. There is no real 7000 yet.
bathellfire 3 years ago
I know, that's what I meant. I can't wait for Windows 7 to come out. The full version...not the beta.
ishmaboy 3 years ago
i know me toooo, i hope it has different sounds
chicachihua 3 years ago
actually you got it wrong. its still the same sound.
Zineter50 3 years ago
make up your mind man. you say you had build 7000 (which you can't because it has not been released) and then you say you can't wait for it to come out.
it is safe to admit you are wrong. jeez.
ridingben 3 years ago
What??? No, you misunderstand...I HAVE build 7000. Build 7000 is a BETA...NOT THE FULL VERSION OF WINDOWS 7...I said I can't wait for the FULL version of Windows 7 when it's released.

It's ok. I know what you meant. That other guy is just ignorant.

can my dell inspiron 6400 running win 7 ? plz reply
declaration963 3 years ago
if it can run vista it can run 7
havepie 3 years ago
yes , my dell is running vista ultimate SP1 , without any problem.
but can you give me official System requirement of windows 7 ?
declaration963 3 years ago
well uhhh vista has not released the specs however its basicly the same as vista but lower because windows 7 is a downgraded version of vista in a way less demanding but its not that cool i have it and i kind of enjoy vista more. also anything that works with vista works with 7.
havepie 3 years ago
that's mean you think vista still better than 7 ?
declaration963 3 years ago
well 7 is better i just lost my wireless adapter disc so i can't get internet so i don't use it cause i have no internet in it. also if you doing to use it make sure to install it on a different partion so you can keep vista.
havepie 3 years ago
i guess , i try on a virtual machine first , but let i know what is your wireless card , maybe i can help you to get the driver
declaration963 3 years ago
Don't worry i found the drivers only real problem now is that windows 7 can't identify my C drive because i have it installed on a different partition.
havepie 3 years ago
you have same problem with me , just uninstall vista and 7 , and try install vista and 7 again
declaration963 3 years ago
ya im not uninstalling vista ill just deal with wat i got on the partition.
havepie 3 years ago
NO!! You don't have to unistall anithing!!! Just right click on "Computer" and "Manage"
Then Go to "Disk Management" and there is the partition where Vista is installed. You just have to right click on that driver and select "Change Driver Letter or Path" a attribuit a letter to the partition...
vascosilva20 3 years ago
if i install on other partion how can i keep vista??
iv tried it and vista just wont start up anymore it always goes to 7
or do i uninstall 7 and pop in vista disk to fix boot??
ivanyoulube 3 years ago
that happended to me before a while ago when i was trying to put XP on my system just pop in the vista disk to fix boot.
havepie 3 years ago
if you hadn't find a solution, let me tell you: when I first try vista, I also installed xp on a different partition, and the same came to me, vista dissapeared, but i downloaded a program called vistaboot pro, followed the instructions posted on the web and then I recovered both the boot from vista and xp.. sorry about my mistakes while writing, i'm spanish.
johdag 3 years ago 3
yeah i did that and it worked
thanks
and your english very is good :D
ivanyoulube 3 years ago
you can also make a backup copy of the root files in your C drive (making sure you have hidden and system files as well).

For anyone comparing this to a ps2 boot up:
Are you seriously blind/in dire need of glasses?
This looks nothing like a ps2 booting up.
This is colored dots flying and combining into a glowing Windows logo.
This is a ps2 boot up.
/watch?v=j0aBh9PiW6w
I see one similarity: flying, colored dots.
How the fuck is that a ripoff?
Kikarok 3 years ago 4
they mean those tiny circles...they appeared in PS2's browser interface....b4 you enter the browser....
kongbingyuan931202 3 years ago
Tiny circles are not in any way, shape, or form a trademark or ripoff.
The ps2's tiny circles don't even do anything but exist. They are not the focus at all, but in this boot screen, they are the only thing present other than text. They are the focus here; they turn into the damn logo, for Pete's sake. The ps2's circles just disappear.
Kikarok 3 years ago 2
I dont know how anyone can compare the PS2 Boot to Windows 7. Clearly Spencer132 you need glasses.
WindowsSleven 3 years ago
where can i get that?
XvMicroHelpervX 3 years ago
it has windows media player 12 too. bit awkward to work with but it shouldnt take long to get used to. i like the way they've seperated the console and the video screen. and as for the speed of booting and shutting down. damn its fast, even on a crappy pentium 4 system with 256mb ram

The boot screen in Build 6801 was much better, it was very nice and simple.
This one looks very amateurish and stupid, as always Microsoft ruins the good, keeps the bad and make it even worse!

SamHaLeKe 3 years ago
Windows 7 setup took for ages at step 2 (unpacking the files...) Booted really fast afterwards (much faster then a clean XP SP3 install) Some hardware was not found like the Ethernet Card and Sound Card. I used a self modified Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 series Driver (2.09.0016) for XP, wich worked directly from the setup file. For updating the Windows 7 standard VGA driver (max 1024x768)
SamHaLeKe 3 years ago
just use windows vista drivers to install them, then go to windows update. worked for me

I'm using Windows 7 M3 as my primary OS on one of my laptops. It works great and runs all my applications, including KasperSky internet security and Adobe CS4. And it's way more stable then Vista.
CasKat24 3 years ago
yes u are right, me 2 , some things are not stable, but all in all its better than vista, and that in beta, the fullversion would be great :D

Little tip for those who want to use it to the expiry month of August 2009 ;) Either Try find an old Windows Vista beta serial (can only activate up to 10 pc's) to activate it, as they'll work with it, or format and reinstall around the end of December and use the 30 day trial until January for the official public beta to come out when they give away free codes to activate until December 2009 :) All beta's and pre-beta's last 12 months from the date the build was made.

i've got windows 7. the only problem i had was a network problem, but if you use vista's drivers for the network thats instantly solved.
as for speed, christ, it runs fast on a crappy pentium 4 2.6ghz with 512mb ram compared to xp on a pentium core 2 duo with 2gig of ram.
and every single thing works on it. bollocks to vista and xp. win7 for the win
emilieautumnuk 3 years ago
how do you install win7?
do you have to format your disk?
if you have any instructions, I'd love to have them. Thanks.
vjr1113 3 years ago
Well you can download Windwos 7 from P2P networks and it will allow you to use it without a license for 30 days with full functionality. If you're running Vista, then click Start; right click on the "Computer" tile and click manage. Click "Storage" then "Dick Managment." Right click on your main HD and click "shrink." Enter the amount of MB you want to use for Win7, like 15,000. Burn the Win7 Disc, put it in your disc drive and restart your computer.
2B Continued...
TherapudicCaffeine 3 years ago
Continued:
It will say "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD," so press something. When the Win7 disc boots up, select your language and keyboard layout and click next. Click "Install" then click "Custom". Select the HD space you allocated before, and click next. Windows 7 will begin to install and will automatically set up a dual boot between Vista and 7.
Note: The installation will reboot about twice. You only need to boot from the DVD the first time. Ignore all other prompts to boot.

tell, this windows has media center like vista?
DesignerDigital 3 years ago
It's pretty similar, the only real difference is the "Extras" section, but that part doesn't work because they haven't yet set up the service to use it. This version wasn't even supposed to be publicky available so a lot of the online services don't work yet. However in this one the taskbar works a lot better. The one in build 6801 was really buggy. They also fixed a lot of the bugs in Windows Media Player. Aero Peek and desktop preview works in this one as well, which is what I was waiting for.
