Very impressive run! I still wonder how the world record is down to 2:03. There is no possible way for anyone to get that low without some sort of cheating device.
I think it is possible, but it needs to be perfect. There is a lot of room for improvement in this run, but yeah, even then I don't think I could get it that low.
Want to know something? I placed 7th overall last night by getting a time of 2:48. I go to sleep and check my score next morning. Guess what? It was already bumped off the list and the 10th place time was at 2:25 and the first place time was around 2:03. How in the heck can somebody possibly get 2:03? With doing an excellent run, I bet I could get around the 2:30's. Am I the only one who sees it as impossible to get 2:03 without cheating somehow. Could smebody please shed some light on this!
I have managed to get down to around 2:30 with this strat and I still made a lot of mistakes. One of them was not killing the dragon the 1st time around, and those are easily 7 seconds. I think I can cut some 3 seconds from the shark fight and the Fake Man encounter can be done a lot quicker too. A perfect run with this strat could maybe get the time down to 2:10, so those 2:03 are possible, but I think I'm missing something.
When you fight the dragon, three B.Bombs and a T.Blow should do the trick in one run; you don't really need to R.Coil and C.Shot. I think using T.Blow in the saucer room would probably be faster than waiting for them and using R.Coil, but then again you do use all your T.Blow. You can save a T.Blow by using 4 B.Bombs to kill the dragon instead. You could also save a T.Blow by not using it in the first room with the blocks and the lightning balls; J.Satellite should be sufficient.
Cool strategy by making the boulder fall with hornets. If you do it right, the dragon can be killed in the first screen by two big and one small blast of the magma bazooka. Two tornadoes used in the screen with all of the pots may take off some time. The problem I have is killing that plant the first time it pops out. Even with the concrete shot, I almost always kill it the second time it pops out. All in all, excellent run.

I managed to get down to 2:14:96 tonight using the same strat. I had overall improvements on the boulder, dragon, shark and Fake Man fight.
