but I think its nice that eventhough a loved one of yours is dead he or she in a way are helping another person and i think it helps you realize that it was there time to go

It's always interesting when you think about it: To save the life of a person who needs an organ transplant, someone has to die first. However... I suppose that (depending on the cause of death) the number of lives saved with the number of organs donated per person really makes more of a difference than we could ever figure.

I'll admit that I felt uncomfortable marking on my driver's license that upon my death, the people can basically harvest anything useful from my dead body. The way I thought about it is that once I am dead I have no use for my organs, because I'm dead, so why not save lives after my own death?

when i got my driving permit about a year ago, i immediately signed up to be an organ donor without a second thought. i'm glad my mom agreed to let me be one. there's only so much you can do when you're just nearly 17 and don't have a credit card or anything :\

I've been an organ donor since i was 16, I think it's really important that people realise how much they can give even after they've gone, my parents didn't really like the idea but I figured that if my heart or my organs can give a sick person just one more month with their family then it's 100% worth it!

In the US you have to "sign up" TO BE an organ donor

In my country it's the other way around, you have to "sign up" NOT TO BE an organ donor. By law everyone is an donor since the day they were born. If you don't want it, then you have to register yourself on the No Donors List or send a legal represent to do it before you die.

This was great, well done for highlighting organ donation people never even realise how important it is when I was six my sister had a kidney transplant and thankfully 20 years later (almost to the day) she is still with us. I'm always telling people to become organ donors but it's great that someone with as much influence as you is reminding people of how important this is. Thank you Buck.x
