The whole album from which this gem comes (Manic Magic Majestic) is utterly spellbinding. One of the greatest records ever made. YES, REALLY. Seldom has one clutch of songs stirred my emotions as much as this one.... it's all to do with what a lyrical genius Johny Brown is - and the incredible arrangements of every one of the 11 (or 12 in some cases) tracks contained within..... I defy anyone to listen to "What The Moon Saw" and not feel like they wanna break down in tears at its sheer power.
1990. 91 chasing this band around from ULU to blackpool ballroom supporting James I had to push those popkids to make room for dancing to 6 pints in New Cross and a club in Soho the Replacements played at too what a time hey whatever happened to Frauke she made johny write me a postcard once thank you
I remember hearing Killy Car Thieves on BFM in Auckland NZ in about 88 and rushing down to the record store to look for the album it was on; Manic Magic Majestic is still one of my faves...Great to see this vid and all the live stuff too...Ta for posting and keep em coming...
In between releasing records on Flim Flam back in the day , Johnny and a few of the other band members used to do casual work at Pinnacle Records , where I worked.
I've been looking for videos of BOHJ for so long. Thank you for posting this! And I agree with Pedrovilar, the early stuff was so good, where are the re-issues? I saw them during that period in London. Johnny Brown was brilliant.
I wish there were videos for the first LP's: 'the big ship sails' and 'more tales from the city'; and, by the way, for 'when the stars come out to play'
I loved this band. Saw them playing in Mile End Rd in about '88

One of the great forgotten bands of the 80's. Manic, magic, majestic is such a gem of an album. A reissue would be most welcome.
