Does the Dr. Bell's have Paducah Kentucky embossed on it?...... Paducah had a E.E. Southerlands Medicine Comapany that made Dr. Bell's Pine Tar Honey around 1880-1910. They also made other meds such as Lax-Floss and Dr. Bells Pine Tar Whiskey...... Good finds!.....
I believe the old Pluto bottle may be from French Lick Indiana, where they have a resort dating back to 1902. People use to go there for the mineral springs and drink the water, which they bottled near the resort. Very interesting history there also.
Wow, nice bottles. Some of them look very old. Such old bottles can be very valuable nowadays. On ebay you have to pay high prices for such vintage bottles. I´m not a bottle collector but it seems that some of them are from the 20´s or even 30´s. I would have also keep them.
How do you find old dumps like that?!?! Im in an area which has history going back to 1820, I have walked acres of woods and never found a dump thats older then 1940s
What strikes me as odd, is the bottles ar all on the surface like someone either already dug the dump and left the crappy bottles behind. I'm guessing that's the case, because most of the bottles your showing are not of real value or broken. Never the less cool video.
It was in the Chicago area and judging by the background noise I would say either near Midway or Ohare airport but I'm leaning towards Ohare. I won't give away the exact spot but I'm guessing near Irving Park road near the railroad tracks. It could be near Elk Grove Village though. You just have to do your research. Wherever you live is a good place to start. Once you start doing historical research for wherever you live you will be able to find more spots than you have a lifetime to hunt.
you are the man. NEVER tell anyone about that dump except your kids. Pass it on from generation to generation. Blindfold anyone you take there. You don't want to give away that place!
Congrads on your beautiful finds! You found some really nice stuff. To find more great stuff like that, dig down deep! Check out my diggin vids! Good Luck - Consdigginvids
Hey Treasurefiend it looks to me like you have found a bottle dump dating from around the early 1900's to the 1930's . Reason I say this is I dig the same bottles that you dig at a site I have from the 1920's. One in particular is the Hinds Honey and almond bottle. Keep digging around you will find more. That green glass is called depression glass, It is valuable. Also try digging down a bit there will be more bottles under the surface. Also might be older in age. Good luck zaxfire69
