  • since I suffer from ear wax and I have to visit my Dr 4 times per month for cleaning my ears , Did you notice any difference in hearing after this ear candle

  • BS that is not ear wax, it is the residual wax from the ear candle dropping down the inside of the tube. Don't believe me?

Take a tiny cotton ball and push it all the way to the bottom of the ear candle and repeat the procedure. End result will be the wax from the ear candle falls on cotton ball, nothing will come out of the ear.

  • Its from the candle u just burned u dumb ass!!

  • @:30 tasty lookin doobie

  • *****Disclaimer******

    don't be an idiot

  • I have invented the new and improved butt candle, you cram one end in you buttho and light the other end and *VOILÀ*

No more ear wax! So if you think the ear candle works and are a die hard believer in them, just post your credit information here in the comments and I'll send you a lifetime supply of my ass candles....

    Idiots

  • i tried this and my ears melted, i now look like i have done a round with mike tyson.

  • Cmon Joey.... Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!! Serious!

  • I helped my mom do this when she had a bad blockage in her ear and the residue left over was very dark- almost black wax. How could that have come from just the burning of the candle?

  • That was funny!

  • What an idiot. This boob actually thinks that stuff came out of his ear canal. He obviously has no idae about the anatomy of the ear.

You can burn one of those things anywhere and get the same result.

So you say you feel better? That's called placebo effect folks.

  • I've had two sessions using earcandles and it has greatly improved my bad tinnitus.

  • @volunteerz then you are obviously dumb

  • They DID NOT work for us. I have had them done professional and at home the wax that is left over when you are finished *IS* from the candle/cone itself (try burning JUST the candle/cone by itself, it looks the same)

  • it's been proven that the residue is from the candle itself.

  • I am a bit skeptical. I have heard of another method where you take cheese cloth and use the eraser end of a pencil to put it as far as it will go into the canal. Pull the pencil out while leaving the cheese cloth in place. Then you burn a candle and let the wax go inside the cheesecloth. They claim that you can hear better after that also that you ears are a bit more sensitive to the cold so don't do it unless you are staying indoors for awhile.

  • get an ear candle and burn it without putting it in your ear then get an ear candle and put it in your ear see both results

    its both the same

  • Why not just use a q tip

  • they push wax to your ear more

Really the more you use the worse you will get

    Anyway. These things work Lol

  • Ohhh yes it does work!!!! my boyfriend and I got some and the work amazingly!!!!! Dont tell me that it doesnt because I def. have the proof!!!!

  • @kelibe88

It doesnt work, if you burn the same candle alone without it being in your ear, it will have the exact same amount.

  • candles made out of bee's wax make their own powder like that- they also put dirt in your ear too. I prefer different wax on the candles.

  • whatever it is its very intriguing - dont poke them cotton buds in your lugs though you fool!!

  • They don't suck the wax out of your ear, its the smoke going into your ear canal that softens and loosens the wax. That's why they work. The residue in the candle is from the candle wax. People get confused....The wax comes out of your ear naturally over the next few days after it softens from the smoke.

  • how does the smoke go down into your ear? heat rises...

  • @Brickhouse917 how does the smoke go into your ear canal? Smoke rises. Get your science right before you start bullshitting.

  • @DappyMilk If you don't believe me just look it up. It's not a hard concept to grasp. if you hold a cigarette upwards, smoke comes out the bottom and top...same thing. You can step down off your high horse now. You're welcome.

  • Burn it without putting it in your ear.

The result will be the same.

  • who this is ...ear????

  • it's not wax, it's residue from the candle

  • i agre with tech9393 :)

  • It's from the candle burning. Not ear wax.

  • try it urself then if ur so sure

  • who gives a shit about that? put that down and give your girl some hot lovin ;)

  • i think that its just the candle wax dripping down. maybe they shuld add colors to the candles and see if the wax is the same color as the candle

  • First of all, its a total hoax. secondly who would think it wouldve came out of your ear. it wouldnt fit there.

  • hey you can sell that to a crack head

  • WOW-you and your girlfriend have a great apartment! my sister Cheryl can't keep her apartment clean worth a crap! Maybe that 's why she's had like 50 live in boyfriends in the past 6 months. STOP BEING A SLOP CHERYL SO SOMEONE WILL LIKE YOU OTHER THAN THAT 50 YEAR OLD MAILMAN THAT LIVES DOWN THE STREET WHO I'M PRETTY SURE IS GAY!!

  • who fucking cares

  • @dgreenbluet lol seriously...

  • The wax you are seeing is the wax from the candle you just burned in your ear. Where do you think your wax from the candle went? If you read the disclaimer ear candles do not suction wax out of your ear. The heat helps the cannal open for proper drainage. Google it.

  • Hilarious Video !

  • im not sure if the ear candles actually work or not, but have any of you actually burned one with out it being in someones ear? i bought one yesterday at our lacal natural foods store and burned it in the kitcen sink no ear involved in any way and it had the same result as using in someones ear it had the same gross yellow waxy residue inside so you decide for your self on that one.

  • Our society is governed by the scientific method. Meaning, if science CAN explain it, we accept it. If science CAN'T explain it, then we reject it. Ear Candling is an alternative therapy that neither doctors nor pharmaceuticals can make money from. It's too time consuming to do in the office, and there's no prescription drug to sell. Therefore, they reject it.

  • My 16 yr old son came to me one day, said he couldn't hear out of his left ear. I looked in his ear with a flash light and magnifying glass and could see the entire ear FILLED with ear wax. I did the ear candling on him, used 2 for that ear. You would not believe the stuff that came out. We saved it in a dixie cup to show everyone. Really gross. Reminds me of Shrek when he pulled out the ear wax from his ear and used it for a candle. My son's ear is all clean, clear and he can hear now.

  • i tryed ear candles and they are excilent for my sinaitus aswell as flem its really strange wen you do see a lump of wax tho i could not belive what cam out my ear as im so consious of my ears so me to get a bit of wax is bloody scary yuk yuk lol

  • My Grandma had a fungus in her ears and the dr's told her she would be deaf within a year and there was nothing more they could do. She started doing this and she can hear as well as anyone else now. She has been doing these 1 time a month for about 10 years now. No more fungus. Repaired hearing loss!

  • @laughtilucry bullshit

  • @DappyMilk actually not bullshit. You haven't seen evidence first hand, and that's not my problem. I KNOW what my grandmother's dr's said to her because I was there. The results of her using these ear candles has been phenomenal for her. It's unfortunate that you are so closed minded that you can't believe the truth when it slaps you in the face. Maybe when you're old and losing your hearing, you might try these and get some relief but I'm sure your ignorance will make you say, "Bullshit."

  • ear candles worked for me

  • I think manufacturer of these candles put some ear wax inside, so people think that stuff came out from their ears, lol

  • Yea...well candles are made of wax. Also, this guy put himself in danger by laying down and holding it vertically to his head; some candles might drop down.

  • they are made to where they don't drop down. he also had the cardboard he was in no danger.

  • SHUT UP ASSHOLE ...

  • You shut up, hole of the ass, nobodys talking to you wanker!

  • lol

  • "what is that?" you say. that stuff in the bottom of your candle is not earwax but deposits that resulted from you burning the candle. try burning one without putting it in your ear and you will get the same results.

    bad science!

  • @wilmaxwell

And how do you know that? Did you test the wax yourself? Of course if you use a wax candle (and you don't have to you can use a newspaper) then yes, there will be wax in there. The question is did any of that wax come from his ears, and how much came from the candle.

  • Be careful ear candling like this, you have to hold it at an angle or the wax drips down INTO YOUR EAR CANAL. People have had to go to the hospital as this will burn your ear drum.

  • I once had a roman candle get shot into my ear canal. I lost a small percentage of my hearing from it as it burned for nearly 5 seconds in my ear hole.

  • before you go and try this, search for "ear candle fraud scam" on Google, and read the truth about this scam!!!

  • also poroxide+ warm water works.

  • apparently someone said "This is not earwax, just the residue the smoke and beeswax gives off. "

  • all i know is i am an audio engineer and we use it in our profession to get ear gunk out, i know it works, not gunna get into an argument on it either, i will say using Q tips just pushes the wax farther in your ear, if you dont think it works, go spend two dollars get a couple of em, experiment with it, and then come back with your argument

  • the white flaky residue is not the actual ear wax, it is just left over candle wax, it is the dark yellow/brown residue that is the ear wax.

  • "I can feel my brain"

  • just had it done for the first time. Very relaxing. BUT I didnt have all that stuff in them. therapist said yeast would look like powdered sugar, wax would either go up in smoke and you would smell it or mely and go down throat like a mucous and you taste it. I still have a wierd taste in my mouth from the candling experience. I think they work. advise do it yourself. I paid 75 dollars for 4 candles and soft soothing music.

  • How often do you do this? Can you hear better after treatment? Where can I buy some of these candles?

  • i heard that people do hear better after this...

  • you heard right. the ear candle pulls out things that have been sitting there for years.

  • sounds like i gotta try one of these out...

  • I recently had an earache and my wife talked me into trying this. It was painless soothing even. It even appeared as though much wax was taken from my ear. Still I felt skeptical. I then put a hole in an empty pill bottle and ear candles it. Suprise when it was done there was a build up of ear wax in the candle. Damn those pharmacies and putting ear wax in my prescriptions.

  • It's obvious that all of those that claim they don't work have a "medical" excuse and spam all ear candle videos with the same comments.

    How odd.

Why do drug companies and medical personnel feel it necessary to do such things?

I didn't know that ear candelling took away THAT much of your business that you feel the need to slander.

Please go get a life. They do in fact work.

Research can be slandered and bought. ;)

  • Thanks for all the feedback. LOL @ all the people who are freaking out and saying things like "You have to have a control, try lighting one without sticking it in your ear, loser!" I guess it doesn't come through well enough in the video that I am saying every word with a shit-eating grin on my face ;)

I realize that ear candling is considered pretty 'out there' and 'flaky'. At the time, I was living in Tokyo and had just got these sent over to me from Canada. (continued...)

  • I was demonstrating them for my Japanese girlfriend who had never heard of them before. Now realize that I didn't waste a candle as a control because there are only 4 in a pack and she wanted to try them after me. Contrary to what most skeptics have been (rather aggressively I might add) saying here, it actually did make a difference in how my ears felt. Obviously the amount of residue that appeared after burning was mostly from the candle itself, but if you notice (continued...)

  • when I put the Q-tip in my ear, I really could feel a difference. I was obviously 'hamming it up' by saying that I could touch my brain afterwards, but honestly the difference was noticeable. I am someone who uses Q-tips often for cleaning my ears, so I could tell that my ear canal was definitely wider and I had much more room to move the Q-tip around. Say what you will about the residue, but the goal of ear candling is to make your ear passages feel wider and less blocked, no? Try it out!

  • I've used the medically recommended drops with a bulb syringe and get out huge lumps of wax but it was a horrendous experience.

Ear candles did the same thing, caused no dangerous pressure in my ears and I could hear better after using them.

A point, for all the nay-sayers: After using a few ear candles, the amount of wax in the bottom of the candle is significantly reduced. If it's only 'candle residue,' then the amount would be consistent, no matter how many were used.

  • Get an ear candle and light it without sticking it in youre ear and let it burn down to the line (where marked on the side) and you get the same results. The ear wax left in the bottom of the candle is just residue and soot from the ear candle it self Ear Candling DOES NOT WORK and is BULLSHIT, and anyone who thinks other wise is wsting there money and a gullible dip shit.

  • where are ear candles sold?

  • The Spokane Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic conducted a research study in 1996 which concluded that ear candling does not produce negative pressure and was ineffective in removing wax from the ear canal.[2] Several studies have shown that ear candles produce the same residue when burnt without ear insertion and that the residue is simply candle wax and soot.[3][4][5]

  • its so fake.

do some research b4 believe everything you see

    w_w_w dot quackwatch dot o_r_g / 01QuackeryRelatedTopics / candling dot h_t_m_l

  • I believe research is what they were doing. Isn't first hand knowledge better than second hand knowledge?

Besides, you never know until you try...

  • its so fake.

do some research b4 believe everything you see

    quackwatch / 01QuackeryRelatedTopics / candling

  • its fake

  • i just tried to do it and the flame goes really high i stopped cuz i was scared i was gona light my house on fire.

  • I've never done it before, but I've always wanted to try it. I'm a pretty logical person. Sounds gross, but why wouldn't you just taste it to see if it tastes like ear wax in order to solve the mystery...it's pretty hard to reproduce such a distinct and horrible taste. The important thing is how the person feels afterwards...how do your ears feel? better??? Then who cares how it works. Worse??? Then don't do it anymore.

    My 2 cents. :)

  • It's def NOT fake ... I live in Canada, I have known at least 4 people who have done this, and very soon I'm gonna do it myself because I KNOW IT WORKS! (and yes, I'm gonna be safe about it, for all you people out there who might assume I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. :D

  • yeah like all the other people, thats just the wax from the candle, and yes it's dangerous, the melting wax can get on your eardrums and rupture or damage it.

  • It's not from your ear it's from the candle. It just loosens it up so you can clean it out.

  • smell it and then you will know for sure if its ear wax. DUH!

  • Man, really takes me back.

had a friend who said he was candling all the time. It turns out, he was really masturbating in doghouses down in the valley.

goes to show you can't trust a candler...

  • wtf XD

  • HAHA

  • Eww candle wax! Gross! lol

  • If you're going to perform an experiment, you must have a "control." Now go light one of those candles without inserting it into someones ear and let us know what happens.

  • Attention All Idiots: Try lighting one and NOT putting it in your ear. YOU'LL STILL GET THE WAX. Try it and see. IT'S A SCAM, and furthermore? It's dangerous.

  • The only thing I can say is that you're not supposed to lay there with the thing burning and dripping down into your ear - there are cases of people getting the burned wax in their ear canal and perforating their ear drums. If you're going to do that, you should do it right - with the candle horizontal to the ground. Whether it actually works or not - considering that ear wax never comes out in little balls...

well, just do it safely and correctly.

  • so people who say ear candles don't do anything are crazyyyyy. my friend and i made her dad do one and he does fabrication and custom paint jobs on Harley's and when we cut it open, in addition to wax, it had small metal shavings and was awkward colors due to paint. how's that fake?

  • Listen to girl - she knws its not working. Quackwatch tells the truth too.

  • Are you Canadian, if your mom sent you ear candles from Canada? Just wondering... I'm Canadian. lol =D

  • The residue found in the candle is the candle residue. So don't get to excited. If all that was in your ear, do you think you could really hear ??

  • they say using ear candles helps people who are stressed out or people that have anxiety attacks a lot...it is a way to calm a person and to make them feel relaxed....it also does clean the ear out, i asked my doctor....they say it is better than putting a qtip in ur ear...but everyone has their oppinions...

  • the company put wax in there before already. u can cut a brand new one up and there will be wax in there before u use it

  • Dude...your turtlenecks gonna catch on fire....

    But wow...amazing O_O

  • I dono if it's real or not but canadians are so cool lol

  • ok, i didn't need to see that.

  • All that wax is from the candle, not your ear. Try burning one thats not in your ear and there will be the same amount of "ear wax" when your finished.

  • don't do it! tests show the crap inside the candle is residue from the candle burning. not the wax from your ear

  • where can u buy these at?

  • I tried ear candling once.. it did make me feel better afterwards

  • You know, I woke up and I couldnt hear out of my ear and I went to the er and got it syringed with Hydrogen Peroxide and it flushed right out Why sacrifice your future hearing and your ear for something as stupid and non-medical as Ear-candling when you can have something simple and affective done like what I did?

  • ear candling is actually better. Normally using hydrogen peroxide would cause damages to your ear drum. They should have flushed it with normal saline or just h2o. Ear candling is also non invasive,.. you know no poking inside your ear.. But i guess you dont know if you dont know

  • Ear candling doesn't do anything. If it did it would be burning your eardrum and causing some serious damage to your hearing.

  • It is ash & debris from burning candle. You are LUCKY a flamimg dripping did not hit your eardrum...you would be deaf now...IDIOT!

  • otaku lol

  • seriously gross!

  • be a man .. use a garden hose to flush ur ears.

  • You're an idiot.

  • thanks :) fag..

  • Actually, i'm female...so you can call me bitch.

  • good luck to you.

  • he is a hotty!!! :)

  • dude, sorry but that was just residue from the candle burning. Means your ears are probably real clean though. I did it last night and there was a crayons worth of wax! It was unbelievable! I couldn't believe it so I just burnt one on it's own, then when I cut it open it was just that powdery shit inside. It actually does work.

  • I've never burnt one down that far, and the wax I always get is different than the one I'd get if I burnt one down on its own o_o; But thats just me.

The stuff I get is a much different texture, and more on the pale orangey/yelllow side. However, I have frequent ear infections, so its probably pulling snot and whatnot directly out of my head.

    Good times.

  • burn one without putting it in you ear..you will have the same "wax" at the bottom.

  • There is no argument. This practice is bullshit and a scam. Every physician and audiologist knows this.

  • Hundreds of analyses of the waxy content confirms that it is just the parafin or beeswax or whatever your particular candle is made of. No human cerumen (hey, that rhymes!) is found in that goo.
