  • Thinking about putting one of these in the bridge of my custom AL 3100. It's a baritone. Stock PU's just don't have what I'm looking for. Almost like deadspots but it could just be the pick up. Stuck between this and the EMG H4

  • what's that thing attached to your guitar? The thing with the wire leading from the bridge?

  • Hi Mate, it's a Gk2a Midi pickup for playing midi guitar.

Have a wee look on my website's midi page for more info on midi guitar. Or I've got a demo of my midi stuff somewhere on my youtube channel.

    Cheers

  • You should invest in bareknuckle pickups. Worlds best sounding production pickups by far.

  • Aye, they are excellent, but the Alumitones suit me better!

  • Nice demo and run thorugh.

  • But will it Djent?

  • The amount of ignorance regarding cutting all the strings on a guitar resulting in a warped neck is mind boggling. I've been playing guitar since 1979, have owned more than 400 of them and each one was routinely restrung by cutting the strings simultaneously. Good grief kids...do some research about wood before you try to educate a luthier about guitars.

  • The only bad thing he did was not taking the tension off the strings first! I have never seen anyone just cut the strings with full tension. te only reason this is not so good is due to the edge trem that is floating. on a hardtail or tuno- matic it would have not mattered at all.

  • OMG!! when he just cut the strings like that i about cried you'll destroy that guitar!!! you fucking retard!!

  • @sblopez08 Wow, you know nothing about guitars, do you. Cutting the strings will not destroy the guitar. The neck won't warp, and nothing will happen to the trem either. You could leave the guitar for months with no strings and the neck wouldn't warp.

  • @littlephil23 obviously you need to brush up on your guitar tech stuff because yea it does warp the neck retard it releases the tension on the neck and warps the neck just as much as the weather does

  • @sblopez08 Obviously you need to learn what you're talking about before you go spouting bullshit. I don't need to brush up on anything, I build guitars and work as a tech part time. Taking string tension off the neck will cause the neck to shift, but it won't warp it. Once you put tension back on it and let it settle its completely fine. Thats not warping the neck, thats normal. Warping happens because of improperly dried wood or poor construction.

  • @littlephil23 yea i'm sure you build guitars and work as a tech just like i'm Eddie Van Halen's Son i already knew that obviously if you put the strings back on with in reasonable time the neck won't be affected, before i even knew anything about guitars my first guitar was ruined because i cut the strings off and couldn't afford knew ones and after 2 months my neck warped so i know what i'm talking about, i'm not gonna waste my time arguing with you... i'm done

  • @sblopez08 I couldn't give 2 shits whether you believe me or not, either way you're wrong. I just changed necks on one of my own guitars, the neck was off the body for months because I was waiting for pickups and it needed some routing, and even with tension on the truss-rod the neck was fine.

Your neck wasn't ruined, you just need to learn how to adjust the truss rod properly.

  • @sblopez08 did you happen to leave the neck propped up against your radiator for that time? or maybe in the cellar or garage over winter maybe?

  • @C861986 well i live in colorado and it's super dry out here... and that warps the neck a lot faster

  • @littlephil23 you clearly don't have an understanding of the physics of neck tension do you? Never clip strings.

  • @thugnastyscripts It's you who clearly has no understanding. Got ANY proof whatsoever to back up your claims? Didn't think so. Cutting the strings will not damage the neck. A guitar neck can be left for months without strings, with tension still on the truss rod, and nothing will happen. It'll take a few days to settle in once restrung, thats it.

If what you believe is true, why doesn't doing a divebomb damage anything? Full string tension to none and back in less than a second.

  • @sblopez08 You need to learn your guitar shit bro, that's not going to harm the neck. Necks are built to withstand that kind of stuff. / discussion.

  • clipping the strings like that is so unbelieveably bad for the neck

  • @dbsk8r92 prove it

  • @dbsk8r92 it sure is.NEVER do that! you will warp that neck in no time

  • @dbsk8r92 yeah sure, the guy with 10 years experience repairing and building guitars has NO IDEA what hes doing

  • @Wiggzzzz clipping strings release the neck tension to fast causing the inevitable neck warp. I wouldn't let that guy touch any of my beauties.

  • @thugnastyscripts what about extreme fr use? why doesnt it affect the neck tension?

  • @thugnastyscripts I've clipped strings for 31 years and haven't had neck warping problems? Think about a Floyd Rose, if rapid tension changes warped necks people like EVH, Vai, or Satch wouldn't ever have playable guitars. LoL.

  • what is that thing behing the floyd rose

  • @DrNo9 its a roland midi pickup

  • Im Sparticus

  • what type of ibanez is that?

  • @Nerdkid8

Looks like an old, highly modified RG550. Great guitars.

  • @WoWintosh it is a 550 i believe, lovely axes

  • i like it!!!

  • nice soloing buddy!
