  • I understand what your saying, dune is full of deeply profound teachings.

    Peace.

  • i think you're beautiul

  • with more passion please, blasphemer ;)

  • it works at the dentist's.

  • about six weeks after watching Dune for the first time in fifteen years I hallucinated this prayer when I thought I was in great pain. Your ramblings has since taught me that the prayer is actually nonsense and it is just the humanity within us that can get us through pain.

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT insight based on great literature.

Thank you for sharing this, Dannido, it is so true and definitely gave me a boost for where I am in life!

  • sexy accent

  • Dune is a great book!

  • Thanks for sharing your heart, and mind I live by those words too.

  • With your voice and looks, you should be in the media professionally, dahling.

  • why don't all you pieces of shit preach your bullshit somewhere else and let people live their own fucking lives?

  • She logged on more than 1 year ago. Prolly suffered from cancer.

  • Danni, are you Aussi?

  • thats a good point there :-)

  • You're, like, 60 years late discovering that one, Love.

  • Thank you Dannidoo. I love Dune, it's an excellent book. The Bene Gesserit are fascinating indeed!

  • thank you, good speech, good breakthrough :)

  • Perfect! You was born in Arrakis!

  • Okay, I was a smartass, but I hope it works well for you. Live long and prosper--

  • You need the Litany against Smoking dahling.

  • We need more Spice!

  • Thank you for sharing your beautiful heart and careful mind with me. It has helped me to deal with the female stereotype clones that I have to deal with on a day to day basis. My concern is that you smoke. Please stop, it will kill you. I want you to live.

  • The spice must flow!

  • You are very wise for your age.

Your thoughts are expressed very well and I am sure others will benefit.

We need more people like you in this world.

  • Forgive samaracab, account was taken over by somebody else.

-We tend to become like the worst in those we oppose.

  • "Never under estimate the power of the human mind to bellieveit wants to believe, no matter theconflicting evidence.

    "

  • "I stand in the sacred human presence. As I do now, so should you stand one day. I pray to your presence that this be so. Let the future remain uncertain for that is the canvas to receive our desire. Thus the human condition faces its perpertual tabula rasa. We posses no more than this moment where we dedicate ourselves continuously to the sacred presence we share and create"

  • You really do have a nice accent, not one we heat a lot of here in Texas

  • It's 12:00 midnight, and I just found your video. I've always been a Frank Herbert and Dune fan. I used the Liltany when I was a military member in the killing fields. I like you. You have a really nice face, and that accent drives me a little erotic. You are a beautiful woman. I will not fear beautiful women, even though I'm married for 14 years now.

    Peace be with you.

  • Very elegant and galant comment...Love it!!!

  • I wonder if there's a litany against religion. You know, other than my own ravings. Good video. Thanks.

  • ''Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration'' Litany and all dune quotes shape my life literally. Herbert books are true genius!

  • You're right - Dune is with me from about 6 years and it will stay with me till the end of my life.

  • Actually that litany has helped me with angsiety attacks!

I'm a bit busy right now so I can't check my spelling...

  • Hope you made your appointment.

    Thank you for your post.

  • Great book!! Many lesson in that book. This is one of them. You have another friend! Your seem to be a great las!!!;-)

    Thanks!!!

  • I have repeated this litany to myself since I watched the movie with my Dad at 7.

    Great introspection sister

  • Either you are a real fan of Dune or you just hit your 30s or the 30s have hit you...

    I hear you :)

  • To work effectively as a mantra aginst fear (or whatever you want to "programm" yourself against) this doesnt has to be long and complicated it doesnt even have to make literally sense to a person, its really just some kind of behaviorism. For me a Buddhist litany like "Namu amida butsu" works fine, though I am not a Buddhist or refer to the meaning of the words, but it sounds nice and its short. And easy to remember especially when in a state of panic. ;)

  • fear is a biological thing. its about the adrenaline dump that your body recives on fight or flight. if you learn to regonsie the sdrenaline build up and dump you wont fear anything. wehn people freeze solid and cant act its the body being overloaded. it can either sap you of strength if un used oR make you faster and stronger. the more you keep moving the better.

  • Fear is a powerful emotion, useful in its own way. Fear when channeled can give you focus, speed, strength, stamina. It takes mental preparation, usually done at random, some people just dont get the life training to deal with fear. If you master your fear, you can use its power to your own advantage. Like many cases of mothers lifting heavy objects to save their children. I saw video of a guy lifting a helicopter to save his friend from drowning. Soldiers during training go through it.

  • Fear certainly has a biological basis (which goes for everything biological doesnt it) but fear has also psychological aspects, fe if one gets traumatized.

And adrenalin does not only work with negative emotions like fear.

  • Thank You

  • Dune is awesome

  • Darn someone already said that xD... was obvious

  • Fear is the mind killer... Cigarette is the lung killer...

  • I read Dune the first time when I was eight years old, and have re-read it more than any other novel. It is my favorite work of literature, and excellent instruction in politics, philosophy, religion, and the struggle to own one's fate. It's wonderful that the Fear Litany has taken on a life of its own within the culture; if these words resonate with you, reader, go to the source and see what else Mr. Herbert's tale has to offer.

  • I think this is great, but on a side note, don't dwell on this so much. You should read Eckhart Tolle.

  • thanks for sharing. peace.

  • it is also my mantra

  • Words of Wisdom you have spoken, for even your worst enemy can be a tool for your evolution. Fear not fow or friend, for they are your teachers in life and you are theirs.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Cigarettes are the lung killer...

  • She not afraid!

  • lol ;) I totally agree! nice sense of humor!

  • @tuttt99

It is by smoking alone, that sets my mind in motion

it is by the mist of marlboro, that the toughts acquire speed

the lung acquire stains, the stains become a warning

it is by smoking alone, that sets my mind in motion.

  • @Lengytam LOVE that you have adapted the Mentat Mantra as a retort! Brilliant. However, even though she has a prophetic cough during an opportune moment at 2:56, esp considering her content at that point. But she makes a lovely point, nonetheless. So BE NICE. I think that must also be a Bene Gesserit command of some sort somewhere, buried under some subversion. I could be wrong. But, Dannidoo, please spout more Herbert at us like vomit from your hard-partying mouth. We await every morsel!

  • THANKS! great vid. Dune is an annoying book to write about for high school... but still kinda fun! i guess.

  • of course you should not read it in high school because of a class or something... but its a fucking great book for later on.... really!

  • I'm 13 and I love it, don't see why they would make someone write a report about it though.

  • Well it can only be good news if kids are reading Dune in High School.

  • Say the litany, snort a couple of strong drinks, and the universe will open before you.

  • I loved that book since I was 15 yrs old, and read it a few times, all the collection actually. It also means that we HUMANS can overcome out primal instincts, our shadow.

  • true

  • thank you :)

  • thank you for this! brave...very brave!

  • I think I found your soulmate

"supricky06" .....let me know! Just my own little revelation.

  • So glad I found you! You have a new friend.

  • Hey there my names Paul, I was looking for a sample of the litany to use in a song - yours was the only verbal one I found. I sampled it, speeded up, for the chorus of a song about abuse. I hope you dont mind and if you do it wont ever go anywhere. Get in touch and I'll send you a copy for your approval. Many thanks, Paul. x

  • thank you for reminding me and instilling it again

  • I run forty yard wind sprints to stay in shape. When resting between sprints, I repeat the Litany of Fear out loud to myself. It keeps me motivated as hell!

  • I never read the book, but watched the original movie a dozen times. It's a real journey. He's right. When you overcome fear, the only thing that limits you are the physics of the world as we know it. There are circumstance, situations, and "outside influince", But in the end only you can answer for yourself. You as an individual are responsible for your own decisions and choices in life, and that gives you some control of the destiny of your life.

  • Sorry for the double comment but I wanted to thank you again for posting this...I ordered the book! Also, while thinking about "fear" I'm getting braver in posting videos that are more about what is really going on in my heart. Thank you for the inspiration!

  • thank you

  • The really cool thing about accepting responsibility for your decisions is the empowerment. If I have made decisions that have messed up my life, then I can unmess it by my decisions. If you blame someone else, then you have to wait for them to fix it...

  • thanks for the boost!

  • Thanks for sharing the great writing. Yes, fear the mind killer...how true. Thanks for the videos...they always come at the perfect time for me and I'm sure for many others who gain inspiration.
