  • Thank you so much for posting this. I only recently discovered and fell in love with "The Fix", so it's wonderful to see some of it. What a fantastic musical! There are few musical soundtracks where I don't skip around to my favorites, and this is one of those few. Thanks again.

  • Oh! I have such an obsession with The Fix. Love this. :D

  • If you like this song, I recommend buying the CD. JB at his finest.

  • Love this song and JB is sooooooooo good at singing. Does anyone know the story that goes with the show and this song?

  • The Fix, I saw it twice when I was living in London in early 97 is about Cal, the Barrowman character. His dad is a senator running for U.S. president but he dies; so Cal's mom and uncle start grooming him to run for office - starting with city council all the way up to Senator. It actually was a great show and John Barrowman was very good in it. It's basically a John F. Kennedy story line - more or less. If you'd like to know more, let me know.

  • i haven't seen the show and i saw another posting where cal is singing to and stradles his uncle - could you tell me why?

  • Well. Cal's mum and uncle want to control him and prevent him from ruining their chances at making it to the white house. As a result, they tell one of his body-guards to keep an eye on him. Well, the body guard gets him hooked on heroin. After awhile it becomes a problem and his mum and uncle order the servants to clean the house of all drugs. The scene you are referring to is when Cal finds a stash of heroin and goes running to prevent it from being taken away from him (he's now governor).

  • To finish my posting from earlier...He runs into his uncle. Cal's uncle Graham has always taught him that he has to keep the upper hand in everything he does. Cal tells him that the drugs are what give him the upper hand. Now, uncle Graham is gay. In order for him to keep his drugs, Cal thrusts uncle Grahams hand into his bits - and then straddles his wheel-chair and says, now "now don't....tell....mother." The implication being that he and his uncle.....

  • wow. this sounds like a fantastic show. i wish i could have seen it! thankyou very much for explaining it all to me. i was slightly confused to say the least.

  • oh, and this is the opening song of the musical - Cal is "mourning" his father's death - his wake is going on downstairs.

  • <3 i all i can say
