"every american" includes all those ex-fans who saw their disingenuous pandering comment as a belittlement of what they were having to support whether they agreed or not. A downward spiral in profits for these girls did not a national tragedy make. They have no inalienable right to popularity OR profit.

Guys, the versions aren't better, they're just different, both beautiful in their own right. Stevie's original comes from her heart and has a more Earthy quality while the Dixie version us a bit more updsted with a country flair. They are both lovely with a flavor or their own. Both are great IMO.

@lookfar111 i was born in the 90's and grew up to the dixie chicks. I didn't know who fleetmac even was until I figured out this song was a cover. and I still like this one better because its the song of my childhood. in 100 years, nobody will know who either fleetwood mac or the dixie chicks are.

Taylor Swift shared the stage with Stevie last year and Stevie just blew her off the stage, I felt bad for her. Not sayin nothing new here when I say that Brittany, Keisha et al. cannot survive musically without a 20 person production team smoothing out the many flaws. 30 years ago they would've simply been shown the door with a polite, No thanks!

@lookfar111 Taylor Swift is only 20 years old. Stevie Nicks flopped when she was a few years older than that (the "Buckingham Nicks" album was a comercial disaster). Comparing her, at the dawn of her career, to a 30 year rock n roll legend (and hall of famer) is disingenuous at best. That would be like comparing Stevie, when she was 20 years old, to Lena Horne or Judy Garland.......either would have "blown her off the stage".

There is still plenty of talent in this "autotuned world".
