(cont'd) In a way, its drawing unwanted parallels with the story of genesis in the Bible, which is also incredibly sexist. Basically, the female sex is not to be compared to horses, cows, or dogs. Women and men are exactly the same - the only fundamental differences exist in internal verses external genatalia. And anyone who finds this ad remotely funny is clearly not looking at the vast range of problems that exist for females in this modern society. Sexism is clearly still alive and well.

It seems like the few people who comment on this ad complaining are getting shot down, which is ridiculously unfair. This ad is plainly and blatantly sexist, and makes absolutely no move to disguise it. The vast majority of women also like beer, and are unlikely to force their husband to leave before they themselves have had a drink of something. Not to mention it is degrading the partnership between husband and wife by implying that one is bossy and the other belittled and forced into things.

Yes, in household goods ads they show women doing the cleaning, which might be a little one-sided, but the fact is that often women ARE the ones who do the cleaning. So in a way, that is also sexist, because it implys that men don't have to clean. Bear in mind that most of these ads are written by men, and apparantly for men. There is very little male sexism in the industry.
