Love the video, however, it is interesting to read the comments... most of them comment on a beautiful ad and beautiful girl and beautiful scenery. However... very few comments say... "this is the next place for my holiday".
Also - why do they produce videos with eating food... it never looks good on camera. Why don't they upload videos at least 720p on YouTube... ad agencies lack of detail for YouTube web videos. grrrr
So far no one seems to understand the brilliance of this. The party scene and the nature are in perfect juxtaposition, i mean she's wearing black in one and white in the other! You can embrace simplicity and decadence and they remain akin. The religious overtone is merely to impart a sense of austerity and allure. To go to Victoria is to reborn and or live a life separate from your own. Great song =P

To me it's a catchy song but the moral of the story is..no matter how trashy you get in Victoria... you can always go to church the next day and get baptised.. or before you gt baptised get skanky in Victoria.. im not sure which one just yet. Love the song and the scenery.. pity about how they chose to show it off.
WTF hahaha. I'm from Victoria and I have to say.....were not all living in the olden day. So glad it's only one for daylesford though, they are a bit hippie.......
It's an advert with a beautiful song and with beautiful pictures. That's what you'll find in Victoria. I live in Perth and can understand why Perth people wouldn't get it.
I just got it! The man whose face she was touching at night was the man who tipped his cap to her in the next shot! No wonder she was embarrassed. I would be too if I started touching a random mans face.
Beautiful song. Thats about the only good thing. "Lead a double life" Fence sitting would be a better phrase to use. Baptism is about being reborn into a life with Christ. Whos she fooling? Certainly not God.
people in perth tend to think in literal terms; too bad, it must be all that sand! try letting your imagination go to work.geta life and put a little fantasy into it......the reason most go on holiday; they want to escape their lives of quiet desparation.
what is says is escape your world of quiet desparation, get a life and let in some fantasy....have some fun, some romance and become a more rounded person.
@AnarchyTheGator oh, and see isabella lucas stuffing her face with their hards day work, and some siren dragging you underwater... and theres some guy at the party, and also at the field, following her around. its like a horror movie!
@AnarchyTheGator Forced to slave in the berry fields? Wha? As kids we used to pick wild blackberries in the mountain ash forests in country Vic. Fun. Didn't for a moment feel like I was a slave! I get the humorous side of your comment though. The ad is quite obscure. But still reckon it's nice.
@AnarchyTheGator Victoria's great... but in Daylesford it wouldn't be unheard of to "be invited to a strange party where you will be converted by a cult, baptized and forced to slave in the berry fields."
Maybe not the enslavement part.. but still, its a strange (yet beautiful) place. Lived thre for 6yrs.
Don't worry about the speed cameras, the brainwashed Marxist cops who book you for petty speeding offences, ignore the Sudanese raping white girls in Dandenong, forget about Lygon Street drug trafficking, underworld gang crime, right turns from the left lane, inaccurate speed cameras hidden in garbage bins, Wog supremacy & a crappy art gallery. We have this hot chick in the Yarra Valley.
Despite the inaccuracies and the somewhat inflated extravagance of this advertisement, it is still beautifully filmed and the accompanying music is brilliant.
it's a great ad. beautifully filmed, beautiful girls and with all levels of meaning built in. and obviously aimed at a particular audience, for those of you who don"t understand it. it's different and adventurous and refreshing.
All the Victorians that like this ad, it doesnt matter you have to get the other states to like it, ad I think its one of the worst ad ive ever seen, it look like some stupid american ad, and kinda makes me wana vomit, This ad really lets down victoria, and isobell lucas, u couldnt have picked a worse person, to try and act, she sucks.
WTF? What does the music and filmic style of "O' Brother Where Out Thou" have to do with Daylesford? Seems like a gratuitous film making exercise and nothing to do with Victoria. As off track as Baz Luhrmans efforts for tourism Australia.
Boneifice, I dont think I am missing the point, when I see a plethora of images with religious connotations (churches, crucifix, and the baptism at the end) with a song that also has religious connotations, not to mention that song was used in oh brother where out thou, which was a movie about the bible belt of the American south. with all of this you dont think I am entitled to my previous opinion?
hmm, i think these images are juxta-posed by themes of greed, self-indulgence, lust and gluttony. The advert is celebrating these "sins", so it is really saying come to Victoria to ENJOY life (sex, good food and so on) rather than condeming it, (a stark contrast to the deep south in america dont you think?) I think the religious connatations are not the main focus of the advert, they are just there to make the main point clearer- which is indulgence, which i'm sure will attract many tourists.
No... I think that you're missing the point... it balances the beauty of rural Victoria with the plethora of cultural activities which can be engaged. It's a well constructed ad that invokes basic human joys, as opposed to presenting the 'red neck bible belt' of the US.

I love this ad, it's aimed at the tender, free spirits with an appreciation for nature and a desire to escape technology. Obviously not for everyone.
I, however, would love a romantic getaway to Daylesford.

I'm not going to be visiting Victoria anytime soon.
