Rusty-your intonation needs serious training, as does your diction. It's obvious you have been listening to too much pop music, which your vocals may be acceptable for. You were lucky songs from Footloose are based on pop songs. If this was a typical show-tunes musical, you would be screwed.

I love how everyone attacks the person who gives the real critique. Let me put it this way for anyone who cares to hear what's real instead of sugar coated: this play had a lot of potential. The actors are talented, the song is good as a whole, but so much more could have been done. And I really don't care if this "Britt" is Brad Pitt's sister! I feel that she screwed up, and she probablyk knows it, and if she's really that upset that someone pointed out her flaws, she will tell me herself.
Just think everyone should know, since you all seem amazed by it, belting is terrible for your voice, even if it projects well, so I sure hope they drink a lot of water. To the girls in the video, you have nice voices so be careful with belting. It would be a shame for any of you to not be able to sing anymore. By the way, I probably have a billion comma splices in this message, so feel free to fix my grammar. I'm really bad with commas...heh

wow. . . this is really amateur-ish. The girls aren't even using accents, when Bomont is in the South. I don't know if this is a highschool or a semi-profesional production, but my highschool is doing a much better job. Choreography, accents and lots of harmony for the girls, people walking down the isle, much more choreography for the chorus. And the girl who I believe is playing Rusty doesn't even attempt to use her head voice, resulting in catastrophy in the very beginning. 2/5 D+

Usually it's assumed to be a midwestern town though. The fact that you use accents is purely director's choice, and also an uncommon choice. Sure, characters like Willard usually have some degree of accent, but it's not usually that prevalent. Plus, in the movie, I don't remember any accents... And Rusty's voice is brilliant.
I'm sorry for seeming egotistical, but I'm stating the facts. It had a lot more potential with choreography and better vocal training on the actor's parts, but this was the director and participant's choices. I'm stating my opinion on how this could have been improved. Rusty's voice is very beautiful, but it has a limit, and she tried pushing it beyond that limit. I have the same problem, she just needs to work on how she hits the high notes. Sorry to offend you.
I don't think critiquing is bad, but isn't the point of non-professional productions to learn your limits, try to push beyond them and widen your talent range? I'm just saying that this obviously isn't professionally done, so the who idea is to get experience from it and learn your limits and work to improve them.
I understand that, and this is why I pointed out these flaws. 10 or 15 years from now, if this school decides to do the same production, they'll do a much better job if someone who was in this productin is involved. That's the point of critiquing: that it's a part of this process as well as learning your limits.

This is great!! Wendy Jo is a little sharp sometimes, but her diction is amazing, the silhouettes in the background are a nice touch, and when the 3 of them are singing harmonies it's pretty tight.
My school did a production of this. For this song thy breifly had every person in the town shown doing something covertly and almost getting caught in rapid succession.

Ren really needs acting lessons, and the cop looks really uncomfortable on stage. I agree that the singing is incredible, but the acting is really awful all around.
RUSTY IS A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The other girls are good too, but I agree, blocking is horrible. Ren you need to learn to act. Just because you look like Ren (which, you really actually do, more than people from other videos) doesn't mean you are. You still need to act. Other than that, pretty good! Nice Job Guys.

i know, i know, wendy jo has hardly any lines in this song.....i play wendy jo in my production, i was sad haha. but you shoudl really stick to whats written, not whats on the CD.

i agree! my middle school just did this, i was dancing so funny backstage! everyone was silently laughing at me! i had a fun time!! I played cowgirl susie, part of Irene's crew, we sang lets make believe we're in love.

Ren really needs acting lessons, and the cop looks really uncomfortable on stage. I agree that the singing is incredible, but the acting is really awful all around.

RUSTY IS A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The other girls are good too, but I agree, blocking is horrible. Ren you need to learn to act. Just because you look like Ren (which, you really actually do, more than people from other videos) doesn't mean you are. You still need to act. Other than that, pretty good! Nice Job Guys.

I Was in this show in my camp.. Loved being in it but the show is soo boring and pointless... It is up to the cast to bring life to it.. You guys really did it.

Hmmm. decent voices, but is there a reason that everyone is just standing around? Why is there no choreography...or even movement at all? Attitude is what makes this song! Without attitude and movement, this song is just...people standing around!
