Great rides. My first and current car is an '02 altima. Going on 194k miles. Only major repair *knock on wood* was the cat. converter which was covered by nissan.
i have the 2005 altima same color ext/int. the only things that make it special are. alloy wheels, passenger auto window and power driver seat. i however upgraded the radio for xm. so i guess it's kind of a special editon 2.5 S
@braydenmartindale I have the 07 Altima 2.5 S with convenience package and I have absolutely no complains about it, maybe ur neighbors are abusing the car a little or idk, because my altima has gotten me very little problems. It is very smooth, fast, and for its class, sporty. Very well equipped, good quality materials (especially the 08+). Id recommennd it to anyone.
They drive it like grannies! I have heard alot of negatives about the 06 and older generations, I think yours is good because they updated them and redid the interiors and such for 07+
I found a 08 Hybrid for only $14k with about 30,000 miles on it! I think I am going to buy it, I can't keep commuting in my Land Rover!
@braydenmartindale ALTIMA+HYBRID+30K MILES for $14K, dude I wouldnt even doubt it, id had signed the deal already lol. My Altima is not hybrid obviously (they dont sell them in Florida where I bought it) but still it's very nice; and a Hybrid is a thousand times better because it's got the leather seats, navigation, and everything else. Ive driven my altima from the very bottom of Florida (Key West) to Texas and didnt have one problem at all, the car behaves perfectly. Good choice man!!!
This car is everything what a medium income family would reasonably want. The car is quality built with a reliable, but thrifty engine. The vehicle is roomy, comfortable, safe and not overly expensive. However the complain about the mediocre interior is a valid one. I suppose Nissan wanted to differentiate the Altima from the higher designated Maxima, and that was the only way because starting with this generation, the size and the styling of the exterior became quite similar for those two.
@StripedComet idk cause i dont see nothing special about it....It doesnt even have sunroof or leather just looks base to me with a nice paint job and shiney rims lol....
@gmman010983 I have this very model and it comes with controls on the steering wheel and power driver's seat which I believe is what the special edition package put into the base model so you didn't need to get the higher trims for it, it came with steelies so those ugly wheels aren't factory.. Ours only has 33k miles and is in way better condition than this one.. Damn weird to see it with a different color interior and factory radio after having it different for so long.
amazingly... i didnt know how great looking the plastics were on the car.... doesnt look cheap. but the grey colour always makes it look dull on any car.
@derbigpr500 sir, you do not know what cheap is..... DODGE is cheap, have you seen the dodge caliber interior plastics. thats cheap. have you seen a dodge neon? now sir, that is cheap. you sir do not know how to guage the cheapness of plastics between one car to another. theres a difference between dull and cheap. i would say most cars built 1998-2004 have better plastics compared to any car 2006-present. have you seen the plastics on a c-class? considerably cheap for whats consideredaluxury car
@youngb1ood Plastics in this altima and the plastics in C class cant be compared. If you sit in both cars, you'll know what im talking about. This Nissan looks cheap on the inside. Every detail looks cheap. Yes, dodge's are crap. But this Altima isnt any better. If you think that cars from 1998 have better plastic than any car from 2006-present, then you've never seens a proper car. Check the plastics in new bmw's, audis..or any european car (peugeot, citroen, renault, opel, alfa romeo...).
@datboiwes333 From this generation of midsize sedans I'd say the Camry had the nicest quality plastics, from the looks of this video (thanks Kyle!) the Altima's look considerably lower grade. I highly doubt it would hold up as well mechanically or build wise either.
@slimecrazy552 I wouldn't say so. My friend used to have a 2009 Camry and it felt extremely cheap. The interior felt like it was from the late 1990's but put into a 2009 car. In my opinion, the Jetta/Passat has the highest quality interior for the price.
@Nebraskahusker23 The 2009 Camry is the newer model, I was referring to the 2002-2006 Camry, which has a noticeably higher quality interior than the new one (it seems they took some drastic cost cutting measures with the 2007 redesign).
@slimecrazy552 Actually the Camry's interior is a lot worse even in this generation and they had a lot of electrical and transmission problems. The Altima's is actually ok, it just looks cheap but get in side one and it feels solid, the engine is a lot more reliable than the Camry's too just avoid the 02-03 Altimas because they blow head gaskets and suck in butterfly screws.
@2004NissanSentra We had an '02 bought new and with 70k miles on the clock it still drives like new and hasn't had a single problem. The interior quality has been a highlight though, particularly the build and materials.
@slimecrazy552 we also had an '02 xe and it was reliable but the interior wasn't so great, from my experience nissan saves all the good interiors for the mid level trims and up, the base models kinda get screwed haha
Respond to this video... This altima is full of grey, hard touch , shiny plastics. That is CHEAP. Every detail in the car is badly designed and looks basicaly cheap. Look at those buttons on the stereo...terrible. Sorry but, i cant think of any european cars from 2000-today that looks that bad inside.
@derbigpr500 actually I have an altima, an 05 3.5sl. The plastics on the Altimas from 05-present are actually much improved over the older ones. Mine doesn't have any hard plastic inside other than the buttons on the radio that are supposedly terrible? I don't know how black plastic buttons can really differ from car to car...
@rnorred86 Very true. I have an 07 altima 2.5 S and the car feels very well built. surfaces feel very soft to the touch and of good quality materials. Car is well equipped (smart key access system, push button ignition, automatic headlights, etc.) and seats are very comfortable and roomy. The only thing I complain about is the plastic around the stick shift b/c the silver paper got a few air bubbles, but other than that, no problems (But that was fixed in the 08+ models w/ new chrome plastic)
@rnorred86 In this video the dash does look a bit overly shiny. I think it's the cleaning products they use. Enjoy your altima! The 07-present models are nice
@TJC450 Interior isn't bad from 01-06, but they really improved from around 2007-2008. The 07 Sentra on the other hand is kinda half-assed whereas the 06 and older was better.
@benchod94 dude chill out, i've been around so many of these cars
I own an '04, interior isn't too bad and my grandma owns an '09 versa base, interior isn't so great, i've been in an '08 sentra b4 and i felt that it was a step down from my '04. my grandma also had an '02 sentra xe (base model) and that interior wasn't so good and one of my other long time friends had an '01 GXE (same body style as the '02 and '04), interior was as good as my '04
ur somewhat right about the base models thing like our sentra 09 is a se-r and the interior is nice but the 2.0's r pretty crappy looking
my parents used to have a 2004 altima with the so called "cehap" interior and it was a 2.5SL and with the wood trim and blac leather it looked nice, better than the 05 2.5S I have
worst is altima 2002-2004 2.5Slol disgusting lol but the SL interior doesnt look cheap at all
@benchod94 yeah i know the interior on the 02-04 altima 2.5s models was pretty much chrysler quality where everything cracks or snaps right off, i know the SL is a lot better by leaps and bounds. my 04 sentra 1.8s has a few snappy pieces but it overall has a pretty good fit and finish with good materials, but that's about as good as it gets in a sentra
Kyle (IF YOU FIND ONE) can you please do a 07+ Nissan Altima?? I looked up your channel and you only have the coupe but I wanna see the sedan version. I understand that you only do cars as you come along them, so thats why im saying if you find one, but given it's sucha popular car, I doubt it is hard to find one.
