  • can't wait for the national hunt season to get going proper again, the flat is fucking boring

  • hahahahaha LOL that is so funny poor horses had to carry those people around all these years and finally it can get a bit of freedom........

    LOL

  • ppl must know they are herd animals and will follow the group , I'm sure that if these lovely creatures had a voice that be heard they wouldn't want them or there friends to be put in a situation that may kill them at the hands of human kind

  • Yeah sorry you old pathetic cunt, better?

  • @shock99999 Thts the worse sware word ever! this is a good piece of work!

  • @puppyphoebeblue LEARN HOW TO SPELL "SWEAR"....

  • @shock99999 Oh please sum times things get something wrong honsetly!

  • @ xXfillyfoalXx - that's a crock of shit. These horses are MADE to do this; they wouldn't be doing this if they weren't made to by people who want to exploit them for their own gain. Horses are made to race way too young, before they're full developed which causes injuries and for them to end up in the knackery.

  • poor horzes

  • my stable is full of ex race horses! their all made crazy by this fucking dumbass racing! racing is all about money the owners dont care about the horses only their money...

  • 1:08 Thats hilarious!!!

  • i have an exrace horse ( well had )

and believe me he loveed galloping an racing other horses

no one would waste their time with a horse that didnt want to run.

  • AHHH!! Stupid jockeys need to practice jumping before the race. All they care about is winning and when the horse trips on the jump the jockey gets behind the movement and throws the horse off even more and them whips the horse!!

  • @edlovehorses

you ignorant fucker. stupid jockeys? my neighbours a jockey. broke tibia and fibia discentrgrated his femur it sent his kneecap out to the left and came out up near his thigh he has broken 42 bones. so fuck you its not all about winning its about the beauty of the sport the thrill of riding and makin a name for the horse so fuck u u cunt.

  • @edlovehorses actually, us jockeys are not all that stupid. And a lot of us care about more than winning. We take the time to school horses we ride over hurdles or fences before we race ride them. Don't blindly blame people just because of their job titles.

    Kind Regards,

    Fuck you.

  • LMAO look how casual the horse walks away when it trips and throws johnson off at 0.56

Just gets up casual and walks away

  • hahah 00:11

  • Did anyone else race every time a horse fell?

  • i nowthat jockey him an me raced be for

  • pure horses....but the man who fly high and after the jump land on the saddel thats look like funny :-D but pure horses

  • steeplechase looks brutal!

  • @lgl172 it's wankers like you that put yourself up on pedastal and all of a sudden you're a bloody animal welfare expert, you sit on the sidelines and are never involved in horseracing but proclaim to have the knowledge of a Group 1 Jockey.

Veterinarian are at the start of each race, horses are checked over, if a horse doesn't want to race, it simply wont.

Muppets like you will never understand, THE SPORT OF KINGS.

  • Comment removed

  • @lgl172 you state that it's nothing regal to watch a horse being whipped, yet you actually WANT MORE JOCKEY DEATHS...

You're nothing more than a fucking disgrace.

  • @Laffolmbo Get a life outside of youtube, participate in a sport and lean what goes on in it before trying to defend it. You just look stupid. I'm done, your blocked go harass someone else now!

  • My Pony Roisty he loves Galloping I was racing a friend whos horse was alot bigger then him and he beat them by miles off he loves it especialy when its up hill cuz then he really out stretches and if a horse doesn't want to do it they wont! and my pony I don't need to ask sop there he likes it!

  • aai pijnlik zeg

  • Horses have been made to run, in the wild there prey animals so they need speed on there side, so they will run saying that you can't make a horse do anything it doesn't want to do.

  • At 48 secs the horses has broke it's leg other wise it would be able to move it properly ;(

  • @Horseyhanni the horse is called Doc Row, and thankfully he didn't break his leg. He has raced, and won, several times since so obviously came to no harm here :)

  • most stupid sport i have ever seen in my life. I prefer proper riding.

  • this is sad

  • personally i don't agree with horse racing and i know most accidents are put down to riders errors. but that horse at 0.40 was just friggin stupid.

it had no rider and on approachin the fence it decided to completely zig zag and jumped into another horse.

  • cool

  • WYSIEDZIAŁ CWAŁ!!

  • Screw you, Willlllllburrrrr! Get the hell off my backkkkkkk!

    But, Mr Ed!

  • very cool

  • Wow this is hilarious. See, Peta can't jump this because no one was hurt! Haha, you gotta love the world of Steeplechasing and racing! xD

  • tHESE HORSES ARE OBVIOUSLY REMINDING PROPLE THAT THEY HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN!!!!!!

    LOL!!!!!

    i want a go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XDXDXD

  • I bet if you put untrained 2 year olds in the start gate and open it up, they would run the entire course, with or without the jockeys on their back.

  • this is funny

  • some of those are funny (when everything is ok) and then the others i feel sorry for them cause some of them look like it really hurt...but yeah cool video

  • Troops, this is Steeplechase, English, not Flattrack. Like Stock Car racing, people come for the race but pray for a wreck. Blame the game, not the player. I elbowed the last idiot I saw videoing a down horse, right in the camera eye. Cost me a hundred, worth every penny. Will do it again.

  • 0:11 the best :'D

  • ok i love horses an i love horse racing , horse racing is not cruel those horses really enjoy the freedom of running, but i do agree that they shouldn't be racing these horses at 2 years old there bones arent fully grown so it can really hurt them like blue belles right after she won the kentucky derby she just collapsed and she couldn't get up so they had to put her down.

  • First off it was Eight Belles and second she came in second in the Kentucky Derby, collapsing after breaking both ankles... Had no choice but to put her down. Otherwise I agree that horse racing isn't cruel until we humans make it cruel.

  • Ahhh thank you so much! Someone states the truth! Racing really isnt cruel unless someone comes along and does something wrng.

  • the one at 2:25 did the horse brake its leg='(

  • 0:52 lmao

  • Ha ha ha omg I just noticed that. I loved how the horse slips and slides and then gets up and walks away all cool like 'I totally meant to do that. Clumsy humans jeeze... that was planned all along'. ROFL.

  • poor horses.....

  • i still think that the jockeys deserved it. they can always choose, but can a horse that?!! no it is forced and i dont think the horses enjoy this sport. typical people to say that they admire the jockeys and so on...they never stop to look at what they are doing to the horses. beeting them to go faster thats just sick!!

  • kick this nerd....... horses are born runners and jumpers, they are just running and jumping

  • Believe me, you cannot make a horse to do anything it doesnt want to lol. You can see horses taht will clear the biggest cross country jumps but wont cross the white line in the middle of the road. If a horse decided it didn't want to run then it would never be in the sport in the first place. Nobody will waste there time with a horse that refused to run. It will be sold on to do something else.

  • Not really, most of my riding school horses are ex racers. One of them is used to bring on the kids from ponies. They are pretty safe. Its not unusual for race horses to go to good homes, y'know.

  • @xXfillyfoalXx true, but we can see the danger coming, the horses cant, so we have to protect them from doing something stupid and not encourage them.

Also, some of the horses you see here are not trained to stop wen the rider is going to fall, when working with a horse you have to actually work WITH the horse, not just use the horse. (or the other way around)

  • @MisCat24 What is this in reply to?

  • @MisCat24 Yeh but with races, there in a group so there not going to stop and wait for the riders! Horses live in herd dont they so they will always follow the herd.

  • @xXfillyfoalXx I agree with you o.o

    I once jumped with a horse that knows how to do it and jumps anything if you keep him enough forward. Until he once met white poles in an obstacle with black spots xD I have a clip of that by luck, it's on my profile ^^;

  • horse racing is the sport of kings,u hav 2 do better than that 2 dump MCCOY LOL

  • jockeys are some of th toughest and bravest sportsmen on the planet. i think they deserve respect for what they do, and i admire the respect that they have for the horses.

  • wtf uv sayin dey deserved it??? how did dey deserve it if dey had of died wud dey of deserved it der life wuz on de line so shut de fuck up

  • That's just sinking low to say that you are happy that the riders got hurt and deserved it.

  • OMG!!! What the hell are they thinking? well they werent thinking. it felt good to see when the riders got hurt and feel!

    what idiots!!!

  • What kind of a muppet are you! People who think that its better to let a person get hurt just because they dont agree with the sport, get some pespective. A life is a valuable thing.

  • 2nd one was lucky as hell

  • Comment removed

  • 1:12 Is Fukin Hilarious AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHAHAHAHAHAH xx

  • u dont get rid of mccoy that easy

  • HORRIBLE

  • stupid man at 1:01 deseverd that!

  • At 0:48 did the horse get hurt?

  • lol 0:10

  • OMG! These horses are alot stronger then the ones you see in normal racing! They don't get hurt as easily and not every horse or jockey that falls get seriously hurt.

  • at 2:10 the jockey is SO MEAN!

  • Not really he was getting the horse in control.

  • then why did her whip him and yank on the reins?

  • because it was the run in... thats why he whipped him, and also to correct the horse because he bobbled a bit on landing. If you've ever ridden and/or jumped, then no doubt its happened to you. It heps both horse and rider maintain balance and I seriously doubt that horse went home injured! lol

  • why? That was the last hurdle in a race, they're gonna be riding the finish!

  • @shock99999 Excuse me young man, there is no need to swear. i think you meant, "Could everyone not get a life & try to understand the dilemma that jockeys have in riding horses". That sounds better, doesn't it young man?

  • scheiß tierquälerei!!!

  • poor horses!

  • nikka chill

  • Actually katjuh at :46 that horse did not get up, it looked like it broke one of its legs, and do you know what that means in horse racing? It means the horse can no longer race so they put it down most likely.

  • The horse that fell in the Johnson colours at 0:46 did get up, it was fine and ran ten days later. It's called Doc Row, this was back in 2006, the horse is still fine and in training although right now its having a summer break before running again in the autumn.

  • @bombcircle ye i remember watchin it. it was a relatively strong race, with horses that wud go on to run in a National, Naunton Brook and Nadover both running. I think the horse that slipped is Out The Black, another good horse

  • Do you really think At The Races would include a clip of ANY horse where it broke one of its legs? I remember the race and the horse was fine.

  • its not THAT easy to break a horses leg!

  • @DXFILMS2008 READ THE INFO

NO HORSES WERE INJURED DURING THIS VIDEO

    Idiot.

  • This is Funny....But remember in this vids there ar no blood or dead horse these horse all stand up after all! I happy for that.

  • oh do shut up

  • DONT WATCH THEN! it does get annoying all these sad people who sit and watch horse racing videos on youtube and then post comments about how 'terrible' it is! Go watch something you like then.

  • wat zielig voor die paarden die vallen!

  • DAmn That was awsome!!!!xD

  • Join the group Horse Handicappers United

  • lol

  • well, you know...accidents happen! but it doesnt matter whos to blame or whos fault it was as long as everyones okay! its not that i like to see horses and riders falling and getting sometimes hurt, i love horses! =)

  • You LOVE horses and STILL wouldnt mind them doing something so potentially dangerous and possibly fatal?

  • Every sport can be dangerous.

  • The guy who fell right at the finish line actually won. Cause he crossed the line and then the horses hoove crossed it.

  • wrong

  • what's the song?

And this is quite okay compared to other things i've seen pft

  • It's always awful to see the fallers, but most of the time they immediately get up without having scratched a thing. So jump racing can't be that bad, can it?

  • just cause the horse got up does not mean it is okay.

  • 0.13... HOW??? I mean... just... how?! To be fair, I feel like that happens to me sometimes!

  • ouch!!! thats awsum great video

  • And i add that animals can get injured as well, but these things happen!!As long as the horse is okay shouldnt that matter?

  • Horse racing isnt just the main event that horses get injured!DId you ever think of barrel racing,Show jumping,Cross country. All sports have people who get hurt or injured!!!Dont blame just one fucking sport.

    I like the commentary lol

  • woahh the dude tht flew then landed on his horse again tht was awsome lol

    - i'm not a fan of racing but that was pretty cool x

  • i love alikat she was such a cheeky mare but dose anyone know if she has has her foal yet

  • what did i spell rong then

  • this is sad!!

  • i love the commentator on this video. brill

  • "You may be riding on the beach young man, but this is no time to do a sitting trot!"

  • thats soo mean why would people do this to the poor horses :( i want to fucking kill the persont that started this race thing they shuold try and do this ass holes

  • fantastic recovery on the secon jump

  • This is horrable! poor horses

  • Omfg!

    0:10 0:53

    ha ha ha! 1:11

  • "You maybe riding on the beach young man, but this is no time for sitting trot!" LOL that's sooooooooooo funny!!!!!

  • um......ok

  • The commentary is priceless :D

  • I feel sorry for guy that fell off just before the finish line. Real bummer. XD

  • no hes a fuckin fagit plus it was the queens horse

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA omg that was so fucking funny

  • this is no time for a sitting trot... ahha that was hilarious!!!!

he had a really good seat too!!

  • Are you sure no one was hurt? Some of those falls were really intense.

And i really do love horses but that horse was pretty dumb to run sideways over a jump and smash into another horse. Woulda hurt like crap eh?

  • i dont think crops were used to hurt the horse in any way. it was made to give the horse a litle more umph to go but its the person that misuses the crop and thats when it becomes abuse.

  • most jockies understand, the public doesnt care if your having a bad day,we understand a couple of skelps asking the horse you any petrol in the tank and waving it in front of his eye and tapping his arse after that, but as public and im sure stewards notice though thankfully rare the skelp is not used more than twice if helped, thats what i call it imho, wave that crop i call whip in its eye if your in the hunt. end of day horse(did maybe try its best)win lose or draw.the horse deserves respects

  • that last comment was meant to a reply to allyduke:)

  • this exact purposes. As to whether whipping hurts a horse, again we can never truly be sure, but I suspect that it would at least sting. A family friend told me of a jockey he only ever employed once because he had bashed the horse so hard it was tender in the ribs and had trouble even feeding for a few days, which was most unlike the horse normally. I think the use of whips, etc does need to be regulated and further investigated so that we can employ the safest practices.

  • I'm certainly no expert, but there are a few things that I would like to share in the spirit of good hearted discussion, with regards to previous comments. Of course, without sentient emotions one can never truly be sure, but according to those I have spoken to who should know, horses do react to the sound of the whips as well as the physical encouragement. If they didn't, one would never see a reaction in a horse to verbal commands, etc. Nor would harness racing drivers utilise a whip pad for

  • omg.doubt it.those horses had to be injured.uhh

  • To fluffypinknoodle:

You say whips don't hurt.. have you tried hitting your own bare skin with it ? Repeatedly ? Now think about this: these jockeys are smacking the horses' flanks, a very sensitive area of the horse's body.. so now, take that whip, and beat your stomach with it, while running. Do you still think that these whips don't hurt ?

  • Horses have a skin much thicker than humans and they have little pain sensory in their body. It doesn't hurt the horse. It's the popping sound that makes them go faster, usually. That's why most horses listen when you click your tongue. And the flank skin is toughened. Please don't make comments like these. These horses are built for this and they have been for a long time. If they weren't, this would be outlawed or riders would be thrown and trampled.

  • Yes, horses have thicker skin than humans. But Thoroughbreds have the thinnest skin of all horses: thus, the reason why they need to be blanketed in the winter, and are very easily chilled.. Do some research on Thoroughbreds, and you'll figure out that their skin is thinner, and more sensitive. And I highly doubt that in the midst of a herd of thundering horses, the small popping noise a crop makes can even make a difference.

  • I am aware of this. Yet, the skin is still much thicker than a humans. A thoroughbred is sensitive, yes. But, if a crop was meant to hurt the horse, it would be made out of something else. And a horse has fur. Even that light coat will reduce any sort of pain from the crop. And trust me, the horse does hear the crop. It is extreemly loud, it whistles in the air, and the horse can see it. Not to mention feel it. It's like using it on your thigh through sweats. These horses aren't hurt.

  • And if they were hurt, you would know. You ride, correct? This is like you using a crop or spurs on your horse. Sure, some horses don't like it, but that doesn't mean it hurts. Stand on the sidelines of a race and you'll hear those crops.

  • Yes, I ride. And no, I don't use a crop, because my horse doesn't need anything more than the movement of my seat and my voice to know when to go.

Neither of us will know whether or not these whips truly hurt (I have tried a crop like those used in races on myself, and I'm telling you, even through sweatpants, those things SMART).. but I think we can both agree that in any equestrian industry, there is abuse and misuse of equipment to enhance performance that should be based purely on [cont]

  • ..natural, God-given talent, instead of gag bits, whips, chains, pads, spurs, and etc. It's a shame how far many of the equestrian industries have gone these days, just to earn a buck.

In my opinion, today's industries should revert back to how it used to be: if your horse isn't fast enough, you may not use a whip or drugs to make it fast enough. If your horse isn't naturally gaited, you may not use pads and chains to make it gait.

  • Some sports can't revolve around movements of seat and voice. Racing is one of them.

I'm sorry, but if things worked out this way, there would be no horse races. Or plenty of other equestrian sports. Yes, there is abuse. Yes, they are trying to cut back on this. But I can tell you that if it hurt a horse, I wouldn't do it. It took a lot from my instructors before I used a crop. A whip doesn't improve talent. It guides the talent. I can tell you that I am against (con.)

  • rodeos for that is a very obvious show of abuse when you watch an injured horse or calf being dragged off and you never hear a thing. I've got nothing against correctly used crops, spurs, or martingales. I don't think you should either. It doesn't hurt them, it just guides them. But, I don't see people gaiting horses. If you're talking about dressage, most forms don't hurt the horse and I see it all the time. It's using the three base gaits and giving them tempo. Lets stop fighting. It's dumb.

  • how the hell can "No horses or jockeys were injured in this video" !?!? this are some nasty falls...

  • thats horrible. i hate racing.

  • Yes because you know nothing about it. Riding school ponies are worse treated than race horses so mind your own business!

  • how is this more of your business than it is mine??

so many horses die or get severly injured on the race track, and not nearly as many get hurt while schooling. You should look up your statistics before trying to argue with people.

you really dont make much sense.

    seriously.
