  • I feel the same way as most of y'all. At least we have hella good music from the first 20 years or so of hip hop. Rediscover authentic music

  • classic

  • Sad how the effort is no longer there to show the gritty side of life in music at all. Now we are just under the magic spell of liars. Oh well here is to the way it was!

  • Hip hop started going wrong when it started to revolve about money.. damn I miss this shit.,

  • @MrWestsideConnection I know thats right.

  • Oh yeah. Much VIBE! Go TOronto!

  • the best rap song ever After Fight the power By PE. Treach flow is Amazing almost like singing because like a music instrument he stays with in a chord & time signature

  • @Scottner1234 totally agree, thats the first thing I thought when I heard this song again, forgot how lyrically brilliant they were

  • @jsb1cfc Dog I agree they get so overlooke. Treach is lyrically as good as anyone. The first group to really have a chorus before them it was just sampling someones voice as the chorus. The first ones to start a clothing line with the naughty gear now everyone as a clothing line. The ones to have a website now everyone has a website.

They changin' schools, I'm the misfit that will outlast

But that's cool with the bull, smack 'em backwards

That's what you get for fuckin' with a ghetto bastard...

    True inspiration right here.

  • This is one of my favourite songs. I have heard it SO many times. Fucking love NbN

  • Yeah that's fucking reel RAP

  • what version of 'NO WOMAN..' is this?

  • lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve this, old skool real hiphop

  • I love songs that explain things this song is one of them it makes me realize that while some people rap about having money and other material things these guys rap about how little they have. The reason that I like this song is because as human beings we should be inclined to care about dilemma. If your watching a movie about a rich guy and then it ends obviously it isn't good. Why is it not the same with music It makes me sad that people like Akon are well known but rappers like these are not.

  • Fake rappers have taken over.... but I know everything's gonna be alright!!!

  • man this shit makes you think and look back at the good ol days...

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Through all the $h!t I've been through, it still makes me appreciate that I didn't have it worse. You are amazing, NBN. Your lyrical stylings are genius and unmatchable to this day.

  • Nice piece str8 out of dirty jerz

  • dam this songs powerfull,

  • I wish they made this with the normal and not clean version. Also I always liked this song even better with the play at the beginning with the nurse and the doctor.

  • treach

  • This is the jam. NJ is in the House1

  • TRUE STORIES

  • Growing up in Newark during the 80's & 90's helped me appreciate life, and now I help my kids appreciate the life they have to live for. Yes we can make out it & never forget were you came from.

  • I want that jacket!!!!!!

  • @101Iamlegend: you said it! poweful was then. this that's goin on is ghetto glorified into material things that don't matter in the end. It comes and goes. But 20 years from now you'll remember NBN. and 30 years from now your grand kids will be understanding legends not posers. . Now we got bling. who the f- cares. I call the "now a day" rappers for the most part, CZ--that's Cubic Z entertainment haha. -Goldie Locks ;)

  • NBN a group who talked about real life and real problems, these artist of today talk about fictional fantasy lives that none of us will ever attain, heck I don't think that they have even attained those lives. Its all just make believe some of us see it and some of us don't, these new artist certainly don't see it. They are all to happy to drive their rented cars, wear their rented chains and spend their borrowed money. SMH!

  • When people say hip hop is dead, I agree. My reason: the loss of the SP-1200, replaced by the Roland 808.

Why? Because where real hip hop producers like Mo Bee, Pete Rock n Buckwild used the SP to produce ambient deep sounds of the 90s, no talent industry niggas like Kayne n Timb sit there punchin buttons on 808s like a buncha fuckin kids would do in music class....

That's the retardation of hip hop......

I'll be firmly in the 90s if anyone needs me.........

  • amen to that im back in time with you

  • @minhasc

"retardation of hip hop" damn straight! I couldn't have said it better myself. Any dip shit with some cash to buy a drum machine and a laptop can be a producer nowadays. Fuck that..............................

  • @minhasc ill join you

  • @minhasc stfu

  • @minhasc yup, 90's had it the best. Hip hop and music in general. Basketball was the shit in the 90's! Miss my Cross Colors gear! ha ha

  • fuck yea son.

  • @minhasc Well said cudnt have put that any better, The 90's it is

  • @minhasc The biggest problem with rap and hip hop over the last 15 years is that rappers these days that cant get signed just come up with their own label. back in the 90's you either had talent and got signed or you were assed out. Old school rap had much more talent and heart then todays crap.

  • @matt24d1 Eazy-E came up with his own record label, Ruthless Records and that was a huge success with great rap and hip hop music so that isnt the reason why rap sucks today (which it does) it is because corps saw hip hop was making money so they were in it for the money and thats what it eventually developed into! An industry revolved and only concerned about money and not about the music!

  • @sublimenese I think we are the same page but the fact its easy to come up with your own record label is part of the reason rap sucks these days. You mention Eazy-E and you are correct but you have to remember that E had talent. Most of these rappers these days have none so coming up with their own label helps them to shove their crap down out throats. 15 years ago you either had talent and attracted the attention of the big labels or did nothing. Eazy was already a proven name he paid is dues.

  • @matt24d1 very true great point

  • @matt24d1 Good explanation I reckon mate.

  • @matt24d1 you cant say that about Tech N9ne hes been doing shit since the 90's too and its not wackwards. I like Rap music I dont agree with you what we have now is progress..

  • @minhasc i cant give you enough thumbs up on that one

  • @minhasc Disagree. Hip-Hop's foundation was created with the Roland TR 808 and the TR 909. A drum machine doesn't make or break an entire genre.

  • @minhasc Disagree. Hip-Hop's foundation was created with the Roland TR 808 and the TR 909. A drum machine doesn't make or break an entire genre. By the way. Both Kanye and Timbaland also use the SP-1200

  • @minhasc agree100%

  • @minhasc Response Hip hop will never die we just kept it in the 90's and 80's so it couldn't be tainted that's all pop

  • strong points, but in the end, it's not the machine that makes the machine.....if your wack, your wack, no SP-1200, MPC 60, ASR - 10 or even a symphony orchestra is gonna help....

  • i got suspened in the 4th grade for haven this on my walkman!!!!!!!!! fuck im old

  • 2:26 is that mos def?

  • @arcai921 its todd 1 lol!!!

  • how can u not like this

  • We analyzed this for discrimination theory in english, and it came up how these days people romanticize ghetto life and make it seems so awesome but its all fucking fake, and this guy was basically tlaking about the real shit, and how it actually is.....stay the fuck outta the ghetto

  • If gucci mane, and whattha fucka "votin' good" flame, were to recite this joint, I guarantee they heads would explode.

  • @101iamlegend Best comment here: "whattha fucka votin good flame"

LMFAO!!! I watched that interview, I nearly pissed myself with laughter!

Obregon Sonora Mexico Campo 60! Javier Mina. FUCK THE GOD DAM POLICE! 80% OF THEM PUSSY'S HATE US! WE MEAN "NOTHING" TO THEM IF WE AIN'T 1 OF THEM!.

  • Everytime I hear this it reminds that it took Eminem 4 albums to do what Treach does in this one song. The whole outsider-fucked up family life-the world's against me thing is contained in this one song. And Treach out raps Marshall by a mile; in fact, you can hear where Eminem got his flow from.

  • @jackiechampion Damn straight! Only real heads even know that Treach completely set up Em's flows n patterns, he admitted as much at one of his awards nights when he named everyone from Treach to Masta Ace to Kurupt as his inspirations. Just too many braindead wiggers n wigger bitches polluting true hip hop, to the state it's in today...

  • @minhasc everybody gets somn from somebody else. ANYBODY!! completely set up em's flow. u are fucking retarded, they sound nothing alike and em is way more versatile anyways this is one of the great songs that will the test of time

  • Still remains classical!!!til dis day

  • WHEN THIS WAS OUT TIMES WAS REAL FOR ME,3 DAY SHIT ON,ON THE CORNER FROM MORNING TELL LATE NIGHT,SHIT THIS SONG GOT ME THREW ALOT OF SHIT,ALL HIP HOP BACK THEN HAD EMOTIONS NIGGA'S WAS FEELING,I WALKED AROUND WIT A HEAVY ASS RADIO 27/7 BUMPIN THE LATEST SHIT,SHOTS OUT TO HOFFMAN&BOND I NEVER FORGET WHAT BLOCK MAID ME ME REAL NIGGA SHIT
