being overweight is unhealthy. its not like its a disease, you are over weight because you have bad eating habits. yes yes i know some people have slow metabolism and i am one of those kids with slow metabolism but that still doest give me a reason to be okay with being overweight and unhealthy. yes i do agree that to enjoy life to its fullest we must adore who we are but there is always room for improvement, especially when it comes to our own health.
I havn't watched this show but I agree. Nikki is not fat! She's not super skinny like other Hollywood stars and therefor she's fat??!! And stars are getting skinnier every year :/ As long as you're healthy and happy no one should have the rights to criticsize you! Hi Emily :) I'm Caleb. Personally I'm glad that television and magazines are moving towards a more "realistic" view of the world and teens especially. I got made fun of all through school about being overweight and as I've grown up, I hate to see that happen to other kids in school. I think it's time people realized that others are NOT paid actors on television. We're not all one size and just because we ARE different sizes doesn't make us any less of a person.

so really I think overall the show is a good thing for ABCfamily to do. I was shocked the first time i saw the commercial. I think it could give alot of kids in general hope for who they are, but i don't think that it means that you shouldn't care about your heath....and that's where the commercial gets confusing with Nikki kindof implying that she wants to be obese. I am extremely excited to see "Huge". I think I'm so excited about it is because I am a huge girl, too. People just dont understand how hard it is to be the 'bigger' one of the class. I think the show's a really good idea. I hate society's belief that skinny=healthy and overweight=unhealthy. There are some really harmful ways to lose weight that'll only hurt you more physically and psychologically.

I may get thumbed down but the *trailer* promotes that being overweight is a-okay. sorry but it isn't. being overweight can cause various problems to you and it also limits things you can do. Huge is sending the message to kids or teens who are overweight or whatever that it's okay to be fat and you shouldn't change and you just need self esteem. Thats ridiculous. the people on the show are very unhealthy.
Of course, if you have a condition or something that makes you overweight then fine.
@Madisenz I don't think Huge has a hidden agenda of promoting obesity. I understand that obesity can lead to serious heart-conditions, diabetes, etc...
However, it seems to me that the underlying message behind Huge isn't even about weight. It's about self perception. We live in an age where overweight or 'unattractive' people are constantly scorned.
There's no denying the fact that today's media portrays a 'perfect image' as one of near-anorexia.
@Madisenz Huge presents today's youth with the opportunity to love and accept themselves for who they are. Health hazards aside, no child should be told that they are 'too fat' or 'too ugly.' I know I was, and it did NOTHING to help my mental and social development. I understand that we should care for the future generation by ensuring that they are fit and healthy, but incase you didn't notice, Huge is actually set in a weight loss camp.
coming from a family that promotes being yourself, i think that Huge is a good idea for a show.
this show is NOT promoting obesity. this show is saying that we shouldn't change our outside image for others. we are not cookie cutter images that are supposed to be super skinny.
we're supposed to be ourselves, not what others want us to be.

I may get thumbed down but the *trailer* promotes that being overweight is a-okay. sorry but it isn't. being overweight can cause various problems to you and it also limits things you can do. Huge is sending the message to kids or teens who are overweight or whatever that it's okay to be fat and you shouldn't change and you just need self esteem. Thats ridiculous. the people on the show are very unhealthy.
Of course, if you have a condition or something that makes you overweight then fine.

@Madisenz I don't think Huge has a hidden agenda of promoting obesity. I understand that obesity can lead to serious heart-conditions, diabetes, etc...
However, it seems to me that the underlying message behind Huge isn't even about weight. It's about self perception. We live in an age where overweight or 'unattractive' people are constantly scorned.
There's no denying the fact that today's media portrays a 'perfect image' as one of near-anorexia.

@Madisenz Huge presents today's youth with the opportunity to love and accept themselves for who they are. Health hazards aside, no child should be told that they are 'too fat' or 'too ugly.' I know I was, and it did NOTHING to help my mental and social development. I understand that we should care for the future generation by ensuring that they are fit and healthy, but incase you didn't notice, Huge is actually set in a weight loss camp.

coming from a family that promotes being yourself, i think that Huge is a good idea for a show.
this show is NOT promoting obesity. this show is saying that we shouldn't change our outside image for others. we are not cookie cutter images that are supposed to be super skinny.
we're supposed to be ourselves, not what others want us to be.
i agree with Nathan one-hundered percent. listen to nikki's comment at the end. THAT is what Huge is about.
