I flew both airlines multiple times. Both has great flight attendants. But jetblue has Amazing legroom and DirectTv with XM radio and free snacks and drinks spirit has none of that and the jetblue staff has amazing service.

Being from South Jersey (30 mins. from ACY) Spirit is the OBVIOUS choice :) In fact I'll be flying down to Orlando on the 4th! and then driving over to Clearwater to see my beloved PHILLIES!!! :)

@6130071able btw check the loads buddy, u konw how many non revers use B6 to get to and from work? not only from NK but from AA and others... at NK you can't even get a jumpseat most of the time.

@surcaribe85 at Spirit you can call and sreserve a jumpseat 72 hours in advance and not get kicked off at Spirit. Not at jetBlue! And you right jetBlue takes a lot of non-rev's, Spirit not so much, cause we can fill our seats, lol.

We shouldn't even be comparing these two.. they both cater to different passengers. Compare AA with UA or CAL not an B6 (LCC) with NK (ULCC). If you want to compare Spirit with someone let it be with EasyJet or RyanAir. JetBlue would compare with VirginAmerica.

Guys let's face it.. you're putting a traditioal low cost that have passengers that are willing to pay a bit more for the "traditional" amenities VS the FIRST ULTRA low cost carrier of the Americas. JetBlue is a great company, but at the end of the day I think Spirit wins.. why?! yes i'm sacrificing a bit of space and no tv.. that's all folks, that is not worth 200 dollars more on a ticket. I can bring my own dvd player and buy a 3 dollar coke if it means I get to go to Peru fo 145 bucks.

Well to back up my comments I do have the link to a website that reports on the DOT results for carriers. And yes Spirit is a private company. However I work for them, and trust we are basicly printing cash over here compared to other carriers. Not bragging about it because I LOVE my flight bennifits with Jetblue. However when it comes down to paying for a flight under 3 hours whats more important, $100 cheaper ticker or a little leg room and a can of coke?

Well based on 2009 profits for both majority goes to Spirit. They made out like bandits. Made slightly more than jetBlue. Mind you Spirit's fleet is 28 airplanes, and jetBlue has over 150 planes! Congrats so Spirit being the most profitable airline in the USA (and world I think (based on profit margin per aircraft)).

Isn't Spirit a Private Corporation? They don't announce their profits or losses to the SEC. Another thing to mention Jetblue 2009 & Qtr 4 Financial results were not mention yet, it will be announced Jan 28th. Do you know something we all don't know? Insider Trader Info??

@ikolkyo967 yes they do, now its around 34 with the new 320s coming in around one every four months or so. 3 bases, FLL DTW and ACY. Should have another 4 320s by the end of the year, and about 5 the first half of next year. 11 new cities next year as well. New uniforms/wings for the crews by January. =) Catch the Spirit!!
