  • Rothery rules

  • So f*** great ! Thanks for posting ... Cheers, Sven

  • strong songs, fundamental and crystallized in our hearts forever keeping the light on this track and radiating the charm of our dreams in the mind remains our good times

  • these songs from "seasons End' are the intense and often sentimental lyricism and profound conceptual album inspired as well as the Brave'album but I would rather save t.song 'the release' than 'Hooks in you' 1

  • @ Aniland - I know there are other bands, It's just that they are my favourite Rock band who uses keyboards with electric guitars. And yes, there are many

  • I love Marillion, they are the only group that I know of that successfully combined electric guitars with keyboars

  • @stevostin What? There are so many bands.

  • Pete Trewavas has the best bass lines... He is a big bassist.

  • Steve Hogarth and Steve Rothery, and very well represent the souls of the lyrical and instrumental marillion, represent, and the whole band's style and school of neo progressive milênio.eles 3 are to be congratulated, and all fans this musical style in the '90s many said they were alive and well.

  • Excellent performance (of course)!

  • Fish o Hogarth?... Tutti e due!!

  • One of the best prog rock songs ever! I think, it is their most epic song (maybe with 'the invisible man' from marbles)

  • this is great!!

    thanks for sharing!

  • What a voice and song !

  • Agreeing with Marbles81. Fish was a legend in his own right but H is a vocal god.

  • check the video response! NICE COVER :D

  • great song .

  • H!!!!!!!!

  • We are the best!

  • Yeah where are the best!!!!

  • Seasons End, the best album of Hogarth period... decadence began ever after...

  • @Indopicso Gotta agree with ya there. Holidays in Eden wasn't bad at all but not near as good as Seasons End

  • Superb

  • a alma lírica e vocal do marillion é steve hogarth,e a alma instrumental é steve rothery.viva o marillion.

  • the interpretation of H is outstanding. The passing of the years has reinforced his great vocal ability. It's like going back to 1989 season's (end). A perfect voice

  • godda love the SPACE....theres lot of gravity in

it.....lol...good times hogarts voice cracked in the end...lol

no but bloody fantastic listening to the guys that

    coached my taste in music!!

  • Again.. .Hogarth proves his vocal prowess. Amazing. He is so highly under-rated.

  • Esta canvción...tiene un final espectacular, lleno de sentimiento...pasión..la voz de Steve..te rompe por dentro...los llenados de guitarra...teclado..bajo y bateria..UUFFF...sin duda..una obra maestra!

  • Pink Floyd and Marillion got me through those tough teenage years. Fish, like Roger Waters, will always be part of his old band's DNA, but the bands have both moved on and are doing rather well.

  • Hogarth is a legend. Marillion are awesome in all their forms but Hogarth still sounds incredible live whereas Fish has lost his range completely.

  • I think live performance wise, Hogarth has always been a good bit better than Fish. And I do love Fish a lot!

  • we're the same inside.

one of the most simple but truest statements in music.

  • I love the song, gives me goosebumps. But it isn't true. We are not all the same. So much hatred is cause by not understanding and accepting our differences.

I respect you, but I am not the same as you.

  • You shouldnt be too linear interpreting such a statement as this. :)

When one hears about a person that commits brutal and evil acts, I allways think that that person, somehwere in their life, wasnt like that and they choose to go a way which lead to that. But inside i believe there is allways conflict, there is allways a good side and a bad side, and this is the same in all. Some can ignore the evil instincts and others ignore the good ones. which is which is of corse open to debate. :)

  • Everybody in the whole of the world Feels the same inside Everybody in the whole of the world Everyone is only everyone else Everybody's got to know Everybody lives and loves and laughs and cries And eats and sleeps and grows and dies Everybody in the whole of the world Is the same this time Is the same inside In the whole of the world Masterpiece... one of the best.
  • mesmerizing!!!!!

  • brilliant song!!!!!

  • "Everybody in the whole of the world is the same inside"

This line is always followed by the tingles up the spine

  • Notables barridos del guatón Rothery. Demuestra que muchos y cualquier tipo puede tener técnica...pero "pocos" el feeling que posee él al tocar y componer.

  • Steve Hogarth is a legend and has a great voice! Best thing to ever happen to Marillion

  • But listen to the lyrics ,there so true

  • They're

    They are

    not there

no location is part of the Space. every location is.

  • It is actually Kelly going wrong here...but whatever

  • sorrry mate, it was rothers that started a whole measure early, but got right back on track a after a couple of breaths :)

  • ....relistening...yep, you're right!!!

the fun is that he's impressing like the rest is wrong...ahhh egos.

  • The Widows of Old Formations, excuse-me: Fish SUCKS! OK, I exagerated... He's great too, but Hogart has a better range, timbre and also plays keys...

  • Grazie con questo video dimostri come manca TANTO FISH . I LOVE OLD MARILLION . ViKing65

  • 14 years after recording, still gets all the notes. Amazing.

  • This is Steve Hogarth, simply

  • Will be played at the Marillion Weekend this March too! Class tune.

  • Fantastic track. Shame about the slight mistake at the start with Rothery being out of synch. Overall brilliant. Great band.

  • I don´t know the name of the band members. so i don't know who is the one you speak to be mistaken... but the one's wrong is the guitarist. ofcourse pianist should be aware of guitarplayers error and follow him... but if you check the time since the start, the pianist is right ;)

  • Its nothing serious, just that the guitarist goes out of sync at the start. It's not necessary for the rest of the band to follow the guitarist, if anything the rest of the band should follow the rythem section, but whoever goes out should get themselves back in, which Rothery does immediately.

  • True... but i think in a live performance the rule is (save the situation whatever is right) So the band had plenty of time to correct the guitarist's little mistake. So it is a small error of a musician, but an huge error of a work group. However we are talking about a band that i don´t know much about, but conquered me with this awesome song. greetings

  • Very happy for you that you have discovered Marillion. They are a fantastic band. If you havn't done so already check out the old Fish era too. Good talking to you.

  • Its not a mistake, its creativity :)

This was a simple and harmless mistake.

To philosophize for a second, some of the best pieces in music are born out of mistakes, when the unthinkable happens, and all of a sudden, it works on the ears and soul :)

  • he wasn't out of sync, he only was in one of his other universes :)

  • One of my faves, cheers for this! Legendary band, awesome song, and anyone whos ever experienced Marillion Live knows just how strong the band and fans are. Truly special.

  • Great song and Steve Hogarth is a legend. I can't be arsed to get into the argument about Fish... I mean he left 20 YEARS AGO SO GET OVER IT. Fish fans should stop being so narrow minded and wake up!!!!! Steve Hogarth is brilliant. Just try it - he hasn't changed Marillion they just got better as the five of them. They all make the decisions not just H.

  • honestly... people need to stop begging for the days of fish. musically the band is supremly better and fish diehards might not want to hear it but marillion used to be little more than a genisis clone. unlike other bands of the age marillion has grown... progressed and changed. if you don't like it? tough cookie. fish is producing some of his own work and its pretty good (13ths star is excellent in my mind) constantly bemoaning the loss of fish won't do anything but make you bitter. grow up

  • I will love this song till the end of time, especially since 4:35.

  • Ken5244 Let's face it man. I love older Marillion stuff but they have tried more and more to go pop since Hogarth's arrival. Hell they even covered a Britney Spears song at Marillion Weekend '07. How can we take them serious after that man? They were in my opinion the best band on the planet until they tried to be a bad knock off of U2 or Coldplay. They need to go back to prog rock. And as far as artistic merrit and such, why is it that album sales have declined drastically? Great songs? Come on

  • This is one of the Marillion's pearls.

  • Lovely song, thanks for posting, cheers, Sven

  • chris37uk's comments in this thread simply reveal his musical ignorance, cruelty (his remarks about Steve's weight) and low level of human character. The brilliance of Marillion's large body of work is not diminished by his short attention span and inability to recognize the musicianship, sincerity, diversity of ideas and depth of expression this band has given us for 25 years.

And the fact he believes that sales correlate with artistic merit says volumes about this guy's intellect. Pathetic.

  • chris37uk has a point rothery being well fat does detract from some beutifal songs!

  • Wow. That was great

  • Do you have ANY idea how popular Marrilion are, how long they've been going and how many albums they've released?

My friend these are real musicians, not manufactured ones. these are artists. And they make more money than these in your face chumps nowadays can only dream of. FACT.

  • I agree. Marillion has been arounf for over 25 years. I think they formed in the very late 70's. A better bunch of musicians you will never see. At least not see that often.

although, I do prefer the early stuff with Fish. Hogarth is okay, but they lost me after Season's End. I'm trying to get into them again.

  • Hey s club for three years, marillion for more than 30, and marillion and hits aswell, so yeah, think about it, marillion are alot better off than the commercial bands, but commercial bands arent rubbish, cause at the end of the day you cant really say music is rubbish, its an art you might like or dislike it, but you cant say its rubbish

  • sorry, something went wrong, my comment was aimed at chris37uk

  • Marillion craft their music. I enjoy the emotion that their songs can conjure up. People who think it's pompous or over the top can go listen to the "trendy" bands who sound like chimps running riot in a music shop. By the way Rothery's weight has nothing to do with how beautifully he plays... A better way of life : Marillion.

  • Excuse me, Chris. I may understand the fact that you don't recognize the actual value of Marillion's legacy. Sadly, what I may not understand is the value of your comment when you blend matters of music with matters of diets. Your words are not only incoherent; they are also unacceptable and impolite. So, please, explain it to me, what is your point? -Have you heard of respect and education before?-

  • you, good sir, evidently have an awful taste in music.

  • one of my favorites of of Seasons End

  • Love this track. Good debut by Hogarth.

  • I've never heard of these guys before! They are fantastic! Does anyone know what album this comes from or which one their CDs are more like this? Thanks

  • They are Marillion, one of the most underrated and greatest bands of all times. They have made 14 albums so far, this song comes from "Season's End". "Misplaced Childhood" "Brave" and "Marbles" are worldwide considered masterpieces of rock. Enjoy the good music :)

  • Listen to this song while flying over a city like Lisbon and you'll feel all the beuaty of it: the song and the view. Perfect! I'll never forget!

Even if the airline wants you to shut your "electronic device" off. ;-)

  • this song kept me going when my heart was broken, love it xxxxxxxx

  • thanks for this super video my friend.!

i love this song and this vocals!

  • hola ale! magnifico como siempre :)

  • Très belle chanson, dans une version live bien interprétée.

  • fave marillion song. Epic... good attempt at the end by Hogarth even tho he shakes his head before trying... Still, at least he can sing unlike Fish these days...

  • it's sad that some people misunderstand them because they don't strike poses and still take these sincere risks on stage.
