I think the backing singer is Ben as he normally does the second vocals and can get pretty high, eg their cover of love sex magic. Also Simon has said in the past that he doesnt want his wife involved in the music so its inlikely to be her. it probs just sounds a bit like a woman cos theyve done something odd to the vocal part.

This version is brilliant but I can't help but feel it loses a bit of the emotional 'punch' at the 'nothing lasts forever...' part, mainly due to the lack of any other instruments to aid the build up to it.

In saying that it's still bloody brilliant, but i prefer the acoustic T-In the Park version.
