Pretty much all African Cichlids fight for their territory, the alphas just have the biggest territories. Prime territory (like caves dug out under rocks) keeps them safe from predation and harassment (to some degree) and if they're an algae grazer they can farm the rocks in their territory; it's not really about reproductive rights.

Is he gonna be able to recover??? they're almost the same size.

@airwolf100 Malawi cichlids and firemounth don't match together. I'm not sure your firemounth recovered of this injure totally. I recommand to put this fish in other aquarium. Malawi cichlids are very territorial and agressives.

@voldy2 Thanks for the reply :) the situation is much better now my firemouth has recovered a little and hes goin out again hehe, but ofcours after i made few changes what i did is added more rocks and built more caves and also brought 3 more females to the blue cichlid so now hes kinda confused about whos to go after but so far so good. i will wait and see. you can check them out if like in my page i only have 2 videos check the one says (update).
