  • just so you know, a lot of cars DO NOT run well with platinum spark plugs. Never use them unless they are OEM installed. Bosch platinum spark plugs have been the culprit in many vehicles with driveability issues.

check your distributor cap and rotor, and probably replace them. It's real easy.

  • @gtfiveliter bosh spark plugs are rubbish. runs like it is going to stall put back those old champion plugs in my old Toyota they ran perfectly fine.

  • @gtfiveliter yeah absolute rubbish for stock vehicle, but spot on for competition/tuned road engines like my 200bhp kit car :):):)

  • 3 whole cylinders of raw power!!!

  • u should of put some anti-seize on the threads... so they dont lock up on you in the future

  • Dont ever use bosch plugs..They are junk..The electrodes break and or fall off into the cylinders and destroy your engine..This did happen to me. I had to buy a new motor for my chevy blazer.I researched it online and in about 5 min i found 10 other cases of this happening to other people..

  • My Haynes manual says 1999 and later metro's spark plug gap is "0.039 to 0.045-inch (1.0 to 1.1mm)" So I guess anything in between will work.

  • wow a 3 cylinder?? u must get 30miles to the gallon!! are they fast? with 4 people inside?? now i want one!!

  • Yeah it gets around 35mpg on a heavy foot. with eco driving can get over 40mpg. being a 3 cylinder engine economy car it doesn't go very fast but it will keep up with other cars in the highway. I'm usually passing cars on the highway lol, but thats because they are slow drivers.

the engine is 1.0L 55hp, 58 torque, I have gone its top speed of 85mph (95 if you push it into redline)

Purchase a gapper at walmart for about $1.50, it pretty cheap lol !

  • yeah been wanting to get one but they are usually sold out at the auto parts store. (nearest walmart closed down)

  • I must be tired. I kept staring at the blue tv screen next to the engine, wondering why the hell would this dude have a dvd player thing in there.... then i realized it was the car battery. =(..... yep i believe its time for bed

  • LOL!!!

Not getting enough sleep? Iv been there before.. lol

  • y did you not gap your spark plugs. i have found only bosch have spark plugs that dont need to be gaped on there hi end spark plugs

  • I didn't have the gap tool.

  • it looks like you overtightened it..

  • aren't you supposed to take them out one at a time and close the tube before going to another? wtf

  • no.. thats only for v6 and v8 so you wont get them mixed up.. but you can have the spark plug holes and tubes open for hours.. just dont let stuff get inside.

  • y r u driving a geo metro you cant get females with a car that has half an engine

  • is that a fact?

its not all about the car. it all starts with the driver.

  • lmao! what are your thoughts on 2001 saturn sc2 black with custom rims?

  • I bet Zac Efron could. If a girl is interested only after she knows what you drive and you are cool with that then...

  • spark plugs never gotten stuck on that engine. i would have gotten platinums but all the had was the regular spark plugs.

LOL. dont think gas prices will go that low again.. hybrids dont work, electrics are limited range, fuel cell are too far in the future to even think about.. hehe

  • dumbass not everybody can drive cars like that. Some people need trucks to work and stuff. Think before you talk.

  • don't have the owners manual. i do have the haynes manual but i really haven't gone through it.

  • oh i was replying to that guy that said champion and bosh plugs suck. Just telling him that they dont nessarily suck.

  • oh. woops. i had replied on the wrong post.. lol

  • oh well im sorry i drive a jeep for the safty of a large car and four wheel drive. By the way i did some research. My dad drives a pontiac sunfire that gets over 30 miles to the gallen and a family member drives a 2009 jeep grand cherokee that get sabout 15 miles per gallen. Guess whitch one puts out less polutants? Yep the jeep. Fuel economy and fuel efficenciency are two different things. Yes we have a limited amount of oil but thats the reason they are looking into alternative fuels.

  • lol 3 cylinders

  • and it gets around 40mpg+ on a light foot.. beat that..

  • Gotta love how easy it is to change the plugs on 4 bangers (or 3 =P)

  • Yeah!

Iv seen videos of FF V6 & V8 engines that are a pain to change spark plugs.. you have to remove a lot of parts just to get to them... what a pain that must be..o.O

  • Cool Demo. NGK Spark Plugs perform well on this particular engine. AC delco is good to though, its just that ive done better with NGK on this motor. Did you locate the misfire? 5*****STARS.

  • The auto parts only had ACDelco left for my engine so I took it (lot of Metro's where i live). The misfire was the spark plugs going bad. It hasn't misfired since I changed the plugs.

  • hey im in school to become a mechanic how can you tell fore sure it missfires

  • you ever wet the distributer cap on an engine before and it wont run right until it drys off? thats a good example of missfire.

you can tell a missfire if you know how the engine should sound.. when it has a missfire it seems to just want to stall when you put it in gear (auto or manual) and it also sounds like its not running on all cylinders. for a 3 cyl engine thats a big deal

I'm no mechanic but I've learned all this by experience with my Metro and other peoples cars.

  • thnx alot man

  • Youtube search: Wagon Misfire Revving

  • ngk is the best for any engine.. bosh and champion suck.. ac is good tho

  • acually the best spark plug is what is recemended in your owners manual in my case its champion. If i put in anything more expensive it wont do anything but lighten my wallet.

  • i work on cars every day... every day.. if you wanna replace spark plugs in 40K get champion.. there cheap for a reason.. why cheap out on parts for a car that gets you around? you wanna get stuck some where? champion = crap

  • really champions just work best on a jeep look on any jeep forum on the internet. Nothing will do anymore for it than a champion and i like to replace my plugs every 30k miles anyway nomatter what im running Im not saying they are the best plugs but they arnt as bad as people make them out to be either.

  • thats fine if u wanna waste money on cheap plugs.. ive seen NGKs last till 150k.. no misfiring the customer just wanted to finally change them.. thats damn good for a spark plug.
