  • Since you took off the electric light you should put a carbide light on it. Great vid. >;o)

  • Thanks for sharing your machine on You Tube. I saw this video a month or so, ago, and added a green 319w to my wish list of vintage machines. I finally found one on CL, yesterday, and brought her home!! I think I might try it in a treadle cabinet since the wiring is shot.

  • @goldnchocolate GREAT! You'll love your 319w!! It treadles so nicely and it is my "go to" machine for 90% of my sewing, especially repairs and quick this or thats. These really are the best all-purpose machine Singer made IMO.

Be sure to clean and oil her very well before using her!! Have Fun!

  • I have a couple treadles. I need to get the belts and get them running.

  • The Singer 319 is a great machine! My 319W is missing key labels A, B, &E. I sure wish that I could find a source for them.

  • @calbern49 Try ebay every now and then they have some parts. They are not getting easier to find thats for sure.

  • Is it possible to convert a 1969-1970 machine (478) - with an iternal motor - to a treadle?

  • Great video! I have a 319k that is the same green as yours, and I have put it on a treadle base. My machine is a little more scratched & worn than yours but still looks ok. I only got it a week ago so I'm still figuring it out, but I like it a lot! It's great being able to do zigzag on a treadle. I got it to complement my 201k treadle.

  • when you have to change bobbins, do you flip the treadle belt off to ease the head back? Havent treadled mine, so they're still tailed. Wow, she's a quiet machine. Love the timing belt tic..... GREAT machines - best of breed with the singer machines - right there with the 401's and the rocketeers

  • @mswmullis Yes, I do have to slip the treadle belt off the big treadle wheel below, so I can lean the machine back to reach the bobbin underneath. That's my only complaint about the 319Ws...location of the bobbin!!!

She's not quite as quiet as she seems in the video. I turned the video sound down a bit in the production software. Even a truly quiet machine sounds noisy in the audio recorded with a video. This powerful machine is not very quiet.

  • Great video, could you please show the treadle in action while sewing.

  • @gip068 I'll try.

  • @gip068 Ok! I just put up a "Part 2" showing the "treadle in action" just for you. :-)
