factory rifle, yes. but what you don't understand is all the work and money that also went into this. The night force optics alone will run you 1600 or so after rings and bases. The ammo is also not "off the shelf" it is all hand loaded which you also must have the equipment and knowledge to do this or pay somebody to make loads(not cheap) for your rifle. not to mention time at the range figuring out the adjustments at different ranges. It's not just pulling the trigger is what i am saying.
@acmull You are correct on most all of your comments, however it is important to note that if the rifle isn't up to the task then all of that time and money is wasted. This couldn't be done even with what would be considered by most to be good rifle, it takes a very accurate rifle to start with.
Nephew has a 270 old piece of junk savage hunting rifle...Well that piece shoots under 1/2" five shot group at 100 yards. But these new savage appear much more accurate and I shot one with the acutrigger very nice.
@saisandoval Actually it is a stock rifle, all that was done to this rifle is that I've learned how to "tune" the reciever screws simular to an Anshutz smallbore rifle to further adjust the rifles accuracy, there is an article on this on the Savage Shooter website. Other than that it was accurately loaded ammo, you can do this also.
@67dodgepolara It is a 1st generation Sinclair Bi-pod, I don't believe that they are made anymore but I could be wrong. The second generation is readily avaliable and somewhat lighter.
I love that commercial. I bought a Savage 12 VLP DBM .223 Left Handed last month. Awesome shooter. First shot at 290 yards, way too easy. Had to build a new range. So far out to 570 yards now. Was getting easy need to go further. I need to get to the 800 yard mark I think. That is the summertime goal.
Best 5 shot .216moa @100 with 68gr Hornady BTHP over 25.0gr varget. Usually 4 all touching and the 5th "flyer" still having the group under .5moa.
@facusnia you threw me for a loop there for a second. Wife's name is Em. That's how she sighs e-mails and I know she never shot a savage. I love THEM too. Cheers

What was the brand and model of the bipod he was using for this shoot?
What was the brand and model of scope?
GREAT ADVERTISEMENT!
I now have this rifle on order. Thanks Savage!

@sirbondman007 It's a first generation Sinclair bipod that is no longer avaliable I believe, the scope is a 12-42 X 56 power Nightforce NXS scope.

Man that is a sweet scope, does anyone know the model or manufacturer?
chuckles731 10 months ago
@chuckles731 That is a Nightforce 12 -42 X 56 power NXS scope, great scope, the rifle is also a factory Palma rifle. Both obviously worked well.
