@SuperRomanticheart I grew up with this religion so yeah. If you can't take the bruises that come with discussing things on the internet, dont discuss things on the internet. I find it offensive that JW take credit for this and the constant 'I'm better than thou' attitude they have. They go from door to door and actually think they are the only one that have the right answers to life and the only one that will have everlasting life in a paradise which btw sounds horrendous.

@slask25 All JW beliefs are strongly backed by bible scriptures. Many so called christian religions have tried to ban the bible over the years because they want to make their own teachings and they don't like how the bible exposes their false teachings. Countless have died trying to expose these churches over the last hundreds of years. Jesus stood firm for only ONE belief and did not approve of all other religions at the time. Ultimately it's your choice and I respect your decision:)

@JOHNNYGIX If your beliefs are backed by the bible, as you say, why do you follow the words of false prophets that the bible itself, even your own garbled version of it, say you shouldn't. I'm referring to the watchtower's false predictions on armageddon in 1914, 1918, 1920, 1941, 1968 and so on. And what about the generation that saw and 'understood' the meaning of ww1 aka the people who are part of the 144 000 you say should live to see armageddon. They're fast running out of time.

@slask25 Many of the prophets of the past in the bible (Moses, Abraham, all the apostles) also thought the end was in their lifetime. Does this make them false prophets? No. The bible clearly tells us to stay awake in the last days and be in expectation of God's day(armageddon). The signs are ALL here much more today than any other time in history by far. It's a protection for us to NOT know the exact day and it shows who truly has their heart in the right place.

@SuperRomanticheart Terrible situations? Medical science saves lives. What do your organization do? Threaten people with eternal non-existence unless they bow their heads to your god. Yes, blood tranfusions can be replaced with saline water or stuff like that but only up to a point. You go willingly into your deaths cause of some ancient rule that a bunch of primitive people thought up. Any argument you can make is moot cause of the reasons I just mentioned.

Life is a free gift, eternal life is not. Why should it be? What were you and I before we were conceived? We were completely non-existent... plain and simple. Why is it a threat to say we could return to what we were before birth? The fact is we are all dying right now, this life is so short we all need to think about the bigger picture and appreciate who will truly sustain us in the future.

@JOHNNYGIX It's a big, fat lie told to people who are afraid to die. It's really that simple. All religions have their own versions but they are all lies told to give people some peace of mind. You can tell a man dying of cancer he's going to be fine and cured of it, but it's still a lie and will do more harm than good in the long run when he finds he is just getting worse. It's the same thing with the lie of eternal life. It's just evil to tell it to people and especially children.

@JOHNNYGIX What am I using? Logic? Yeah, I know stuff like that comes hard to religious people. Besides, who's the biggest dick in the bible, Satan or God? How many people have God killed in the bible compared to Satan? And who is the biggest liar of those two? Satan is just another version of the original angel that god supposedly created as an adversary twisted to be something else by religious scholars and I use that term scholar loosely.

@slask25 Obviously we (I do not speak for our organization as a whole, just myself) don't claim that. We recognize that doctors have done the work of research, etc, however the need for treatments like this have been pushed more and more by Jehovah's Witnesses, where others have not, just as the news article states. However, the command to abstain from blood is clearly seen in the Bible. Sorry to are opposed to those views, but we can see here that it has its obvious benefits.

Amazing that these men have realized the benefits to bloodless surgery going off of what Jehovah's Witnesses have been advocating for decades and yet they still miss the point. The bible says to abstain from blood but it also says that "they will learn war no more" and yet the military is using this technique to keep their soldiers in fighting shape. Get a clue. If Jehovah's Witnesses are credited for this insight, then look deeper into other teachings that will benefit you sooner not later.

In reference to Jehovah's Witnesses belief / explanation of Abstaining from Blood, "There were no blood transfusions in Biblical times, only ritualistic practices that required the oral intake of blood." God spoke against those practices! BGLenn

The medical profession could have had this technology many years ago had they not been so prejudiced and discounted Jehovah's Witnesses. However, better late than never. God's Word never fails.
