1962 that model Garrard turntable was in production, also use in AWA Radiola,Kriesler,Phillips,Pye & Thorn systems. My compliments,a very good unit and in top condition.
My grandmother has a PYE g66 in her garage and the wooden frame of a kolster brandes tv set in her shed. I want the the g66 in my room. It has all the original manual books.
Just bought one of these ( model G63 ) from the original owner. It comes with original 1960 purchase invoice for 59 & 1/2 guineas, all paperwork from new.It is in ' as-new ' condition but needs capacitors replacing. The push-pull valve amp. has great potential for being a stunning performer !.
Now That Looks Like A Tasty Piece Of Kit, I Bet It Sounds AWESOME! With A Decent Record Played On It, These 80's Tracks Just Sound Wrong On Old Systems And What Has Happened To That Record? It Sounds Like It's Been Scraped Along A Brick Wall
That is a sizeable record player in decent condition.
It sounds like the stylus is buggered. A new one should render a cleaner sound.
It should work well for a few more years before needing circuit repairs. Try to keep the bass level low, as this was made before the time of "electronic music", & the age of the speakers..they might deteriorate from heavy sound.
A classic retro piece!
Here they were more into table-top units, or supplied with a radio.
Nice little system with great sound. But that's not a Garrard Type AT6, its a Garrard Model 210 probably equipped with a SHURE M3D or M7D phono cartridge. Pilot often used the Garrard 210 in their consoles. Nice sound thanks for posting.
