While I agree it would be good if she secured a seat, I think she should be allowed in the debate based on her percentage of votes nationally. Enough people in Canada want to see her in there, it doesn't really matter if they're all in one place. :P
@nekciw This is one of the reasons why many Canadians are pushing for a proportional representation system, rather than the system we have now. It would elect seats based on total percentage of Canadian vote rather than individuals simply winning in their riding. Thus, Elizabeth May would have obtained seats in the House of Commons :)
@BreezyRree Yus yus, I voted for it last election when it was on the ballot. But naturally the question was obtuse and non descriptive so it didn't pass.
@nekciw Maybe if more people knew about its benefits(or what it actually was) Canada might want to give it a shot? But I don't really see the government into informing Canadians about their options. Especially the bigger parties who like things the way it is (for the most part).
@thebomberman1967 Unfortunately, those are very hard to come by in any party. Each leader does not solely run/ rule the government in our Canadian democracy and thus each party leader must answer to their party and the elected government houses. Free thinkers are hard to come by in the world of politics :P
Agreed about Layton but disagree about the party. all the solutions he brougt up about immigration, healthcare, the Senate (<---lol) and all the others were in line with the NDP platform. Besides he's strong, like the hulk, and needs a chance to lead!
@FlailingHenchmen She would have gotten a chance to debate if she had of secured a seat in the house of commons. Her party currently holds no real weight. People are hoping for that to change with this election but she first has to win in her riding.
Hehe, an American and talking version of Magibon!

Elizabeth May should have been alowed to debate. :/ I'd sooner vote NDP before Conservative though. But that's just me leaning left as per usual.
Green Party if I could vote this year!
