Of course the Democratic Congress is going to bail out these institutions- they've recieved over $300,000,000 in campaign contributions from them in the past 3 years!! $1,000,000 went to Obama. The real campaign for election this year should be to vote the Democrats out of Congress. They won the Majority on a fair 'Bush screwed up the war' platform- but they are now, and will continue to screw up our economy. McCain needs to get in there and clean house ! Middle class American voters can help!
sxobekuj, you're FULLofit! I can pull #'s out of thin air, 2: "The Republicans received $900,000,000,000 from these institutions inthe last 3 years!" See how easy that is? Bush said IN HIS STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS(see below) that he was going to de-facto DEREGULATE to get more people into houses--never MIND they couldn't possibly AFFORD them! But DON'T WORRY! The lower classes will pony up TRILLION$ more2 bail out these pigs! BTW, If McCain is so independent, why doesn't he RUN as one??!!
McSame is no independent. What he does depend on though is stupid Americans who can't see through the crap he's giving us in his campaign. Straight Talk my fuckin ass! on the day the banks were collapsing, he said the fundamentals of our economy are strong. He clearly knows nothing of the fundamentals or our economy period! how can we elect this guy. Obama 08, our only hope. Ron Paul would have been great but he's not on the ballot. So if you're with me, keep mcSame out of office!
dude, it dont matter who you 'vote' for, we're still gonna bendover and be fucked, now with palin and hillary somewhat in the mix, they wouldve fucked us with strap-ons, but palin might actually do it. every election is a scam anyway. 'they' select, we dont 'elect'
You've got a point there. The reason they have the electoral college is because they think that the average American is 2 dumb 2pick the right candidate so they pick it 4 us. But of course they're only looking out for who's going to take care of their interests first. Our system is fucked up and that's why I think Ron Paul would've been a welcome change to this country. If you wouldn't consider him an honest politician, think about this. He's voted in Congress against pay raises 4 themselves!
In his Jan. 20 (2005) inaugural address, Bush offered a grand vision of newly empowered Americans: To give every American a stake in the promise and future of our country, we will bring the highest standards to our schools, and build an ownership society. We will widen the ownership of homes and businesses, retirement savings and health insurance preparing our people for the challenges of life in a free society.
And "Wink-wink, banking industry!" McCain wants 2 continue the Bush lunacy!!
Well said cheaptrick! You can go back in history to see what got us here. What let it happen is NO REGULATION. Nope, our GOP friends don't like that word. So to middle class America, it is your tax dollars at work here bailing out the rich. I hope everyone reading this has FINALLY had enough of this republican administration. Just watch c-span for 2 days and you will realize that bush and cheney should be in prison for the rest of their lives. Yep, general population is what I'm talking about.
Thanks for this video. Maybe people will finally pay attention. We have allowed our government to become so corrupt over the past few decades and now the nation is paying the price. It's too late to save the country but I suggest you find ways of saving yourselves before the chaos is unleashed when we no longer have a government.
OMG! 70 BILLION in total bail outs? WTF? The Republicans are all about LESS government, but when it comes to protecting the rich it is all about MORE government. Remember everyone, the 70B is YOUR tax dollars. When the fuck is it going to end? If my small business where to go into the shitter, who would bail me out? At least it shows once again in just a few short days how McCain has changed his tune. Fucking laughable!
Big Picture: Corporate daily rape of the American Citizen, via oil and farming monopolies catalyzing manipulated inflation.
The Small Picture: unemployment,part-time nickle-jobs, debts, obscene bank-fees, and absurd medical expenses.
So who could really buy a home, eh?
Squeezed.
Solution: Nationalize the OIL INDUSTRY and PAY OFF SM Debts. It's easy to do and only takes a weekend. Give one reason why it won't (not "can't") be done?
Why didn't the government stop home prices from rising so sharply during the boom? They claimed that we live in a free market, but then if it is a free market, why the hell are they bailing out corporations! Greenspan and Bush should both be thrown in prison, for life.
This is sickening. Our government is ran be corporations, and the government itself is to blame. The middle class pays for the losses of the rich. There is going to be a freaking revolution in this country sooner or later. One day, the people of this country are going to overthrow the government, just as they have done so in other countries.
I have to agree with clopolol. This will continue until we use our 2nd amendment right, (that the democrats want to take away, I might add), march on Washington, and throw these bums out at gunpoint.
Writing your congressman , senator or anyone else about this fraud is USELESS. We're at a point where only VIOLENCE will get our goverments attention.
2. gov't allowed loans (by FDIC banks and Freddie/Fannie) on RE w/ no cap based on area market rents.....hard to blame either party for this since price rise was un-precedented.
Bush de-regulated the banking industry to bring into being the "ownership society"--he said as much in State of the Union speech a few years back. What he DIDN'T say was that banks were given a wink by the administration to loosen the lending rules to the point where people could just state their income, WITHOUT ANY VERIFICATION WHATSOEVER!! "Just write down a number--preferably, a HIGH one!" And...banks handed out bad loans, the cards collapsed, & CEOs walked away from burning cos w/millions!
When the revolution starts the first people shot should be the CEOs and investment bankers who orchestrated this mess as well as those in the government who enabled them.
Straywolf said Well, I think its too late to save the Republic. So...what shall it be folks? Submission or revolution?
I've never heard it said any better. I for one choose option #3: find a good place to hide. I'm too old to fight. I just want to live close enough to civilization so the mailman can get that SSN check to me, if we're not broke by then (ten more years). Otherwise, REVOLUTION!
you know you are a big part of the problem. 'defer the issue until im dead'. Sorry gramps you had it real good for your whole life, sorry you have to pay now but thats the way its going to be.
You know....you don't know. Wait until you're my age, then you might know something. But anyway, if I am the problem it won't be hard for the geniuses like yourself to solve it.
Its not a government for the people anymore. Whoz to blame? Not the bankers or the CEO's earning million. Its the people. Its the immigrants that made this country great, and now their grand children are screwing it up for them, by wanting everything easy and free. They will buy a house without putting 20% down and knowing very well they cannot afford it. They will accept stimulus checks from the government that they think if "free money".
And no leadership that has the brass ba11s to speak the truth. Obama will give us more stimulus checks. It only means when you sink deeper into the doodoo, you would have some nice clothes us. McCain will continue the failed and flawed policies of Bush.
This nation will loose it superpower status in no time. The people with the begging bowl who point fingers at the bankers and at the Fed are to blame.
"We need a Republican administration"--Why? So they can fuck you over for ANOTHER 3 Trillion dollars of debt? So the rich can give themselves ANOTHER tax cut in wartime, while sending middle-and-lower class citizens to fight and die and--MOST importantly--to PAY for all the wars and taxcuts and debts? The super-rich LOVE it when the lower classes fight amongst themselves! Republicans will CUT Medicare, Soc Sec,& anything ELSE that helps the lower classes! YA,dat's good t'inkin'der, voter!
Where do you see me as saying we need a republican administration. Both candidates do not deserve my vote. You can make a bumper sticker now that says "Blame me. I voted". Will be true no matter who wins the election.
In order to control our government, we must control our own money system. If we cannot control our own money, then how in the hell can any of you think that you can possibly make any kind of reasonable change? You cannot. Money is power and power is money. Those who have it, control those who do not. You are fooling yourself if you think for one minute that your feelings or your thoughts on any of these issues really matters in this year 2008. We have enemies in our own government.
Parties and politics do not matter. Only fools think otherwise. You can spend your whole life thinking that you somehow make a difference getting involved in politics or helping out as you may call it. Our system is a false paradigm designed to make us think we have a choice. We don't. They are all the same when they get to Washington. The only man that could make a difference is Ron Paul. But the good are few and far between. Most have been bought off or silenced or both. This is the game.
Great video. Factual and accurate. Our congressman and senators collect a check from taxpayers but even more from the pigmen that are taking all of our money. Contacted my reps in both houses. I seriously dought this bill will fail however there is always hope.
This video is fantastic and everyone who sees it needs to TAKE ACTION and CALL their congressmen. Its EASY!!! Google the contact info for you congressmen and CALL THEM NOW!!!
The country can not afford to bail out the bankers. This is your country- have some pride in it and take a stand.
Watched it numerious times. This was a great summary of the current situation. However, the conclusion could have been a little bit stronger - protesting in Washington is good, writing congress is also good, taking some or all your money out of the system would have been a better recommendation, and the consequences of doing nothing should have been made clear to the viewer.
Great Video...wow...applaud the effort. Let's forward this to everyone we know...then maybe someone like "katman" will see that the Government is at the mercy of the people..."We the people". We can win this...we just need to get our heads together and make a difference...call your congressmen and women...let it start with YOU!
From my home state of Washington, the Representatives that voted AGAINST the bill: Doc Hastings Cathy McMorris Rodgers David Reichart People who voted FOR the bailout: Brian Baird Rick Larsen Adam Smith Norman Dicks Jay Inslee Jim McDermott Vote your wallet.
folks the government or what we think is government is not real. its all a illusion designed to fool you and your mind. can't you see that? we as americans have been duped into thinking we are free men, when we are not. if you think you are free, then quit paying your property taxes or your income taxes. we are slaves on a massive plantation. Ever since Lincoln we have not been free. Maybe Bush was right. The constitution is nothing but a gd piece of paper.
this tard is always running his head all the time....oh, lets go call congress. what i moron. i have been doing that for 20 or so years and guess what? it doesn't work. they don't care what we think. they don't care what we want. until major f***tards like this prick understand that, it will always be the same. so a few people ruin their day and go protest. so what? it means nothing. get a million white men in the street in washington dc and maybe, they might listen.
What a clusterf*ck... The Americans talked so much smack against Communism and Socialism, and now they're letting themselves fall on it. But instead of giving away tax money to the poor, you give it to the rich people... listen to this guy, and get your country out of the sh*thole.
It is pretty funny that all the talking heads applauding deregulation over the last 5 years are now all complaining that the government didn't act soon enough.
The regulations in place would have worked, if anyone enforced them. No one did. The police were no where to be found. The system worked fine in 1960-1970-1980. It is these new 'financial innovations' & 'financial engineering' that have screwed us.
Most succinct summation of the current and potential macro problems that exist today.
Every American should be aware of these present and potential catastrophes or they risk a future that makes the Great Depression seem like a walk in the park.
This bailout comes after Wall Street pigmen made millions upon millions on the housing and credit bubble that was endorsed and fostered by our government.
DO NOT LET THE RIP OFF OF THE TAXPAYERS AND CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY TO CONTINUE!

So if you're with me, keep mcSame out of office!
eacuna05 3 years ago 3
dude, it dont matter who you 'vote' for, we're still gonna bendover and be fucked, now with palin and hillary somewhat in the mix, they wouldve fucked us with strap-ons, but palin might actually do it. every election is a scam anyway. 'they' select, we dont 'elect'
RydanDenali 3 years ago
You've got a point there. The reason they have the electoral college is because they think that the average American is 2 dumb 2pick the right candidate so they pick it 4 us. But of course they're only looking out for who's going to take care of their interests first. Our system is fucked up and that's why I think Ron Paul would've been a welcome change to this country. If you wouldn't consider him an honest politician, think about this. He's voted in Congress against pay raises 4 themselves!
eacuna05 3 years ago
Cheaptrick82 3 years ago 2

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The jew will scream bloody murder if you make them pay for their failed scam. They own too much of our government for this to ever happen.

What is shocking folks?
I mean add it up:
Big Picture: Corporate daily rape of the American Citizen, via oil and farming monopolies catalyzing manipulated inflation.
The Small Picture: unemployment,part-time nickle-jobs, debts, obscene bank-fees, and absurd medical expenses.
So who could really buy a home, eh?
Squeezed.
Solution: Nationalize the OIL INDUSTRY and PAY OFF SM Debts. It's easy to do and only takes a weekend. Give one reason why it won't (not "can't") be done?
debtlifer 3 years ago 3
The biggest reason why it won't be done? The oil industry and the banking industry have "our" government in their back pocket.
xjlmt 3 years ago 3
Why didn't the government stop home prices from rising so sharply during the boom? They claimed that we live in a free market, but then if it is a free market, why the hell are they bailing out corporations! Greenspan and Bush should both be thrown in prison, for life.
tugando 3 years ago
This is sickening. Our government is ran be corporations, and the government itself is to blame. The middle class pays for the losses of the rich. There is going to be a freaking revolution in this country sooner or later. One day, the people of this country are going to overthrow the government, just as they have done so in other countries.
tugando 3 years ago 3
I have to agree with clopolol. This will continue until we use our 2nd amendment right, (that the democrats want to take away, I might add), march on Washington, and throw these bums out at gunpoint.
MissPolitico 3 years ago 3
Writing your congressman , senator or anyone else about this fraud is USELESS. We're at a point where only VIOLENCE will get our goverments attention.

"Is our government encouraging fraud and excessive risk?"
Of course. How could you expect otherwise?

2. gov't allowed loans (by FDIC banks and Freddie/Fannie) on RE w/ no cap based on area market rents.....hard to blame either party for this since price rise was un-precedented.
ronintheusa 3 years ago
"stop the bailouts", sure if you want a depression....maybe greater than the last one.....yeah, that would be fun.
This happened because:
1. dems required loans to be made to the un-qualified (poor credit) borrowers, extra demand caused RE prices to raise
-----------but #1 would not have been a problem if #2 was rectified
ronintheusa 3 years ago
You don't get it. The bailout is going to cause the depression. This is one of the final steps from predictions people like me made years ago.

Cheaptrick82 3 years ago
When the revolution starts the first people shot should be the CEOs and investment bankers who orchestrated this mess as well as those in the government who enabled them.

I've never heard it said any better. I for one choose option #3: find a good place to hide. I'm too old to fight. I just want to live close enough to civilization so the mailman can get that SSN check to me, if we're not broke by then (ten more years). Otherwise, REVOLUTION!

They will accept stimulus checks from the government that they think if "free money".
rajeshlrao 3 years ago
And no leadership that has the brass ba11s to speak the truth. Obama will give us more stimulus checks. It only means when you sink deeper into the doodoo, you would have some nice clothes us. McCain will continue the failed and flawed policies of Bush.
This nation will loose it superpower status in no time. The people with the begging bowl who point fingers at the bankers and at the Fed are to blame.
rajeshlrao 3 years ago
"We need a Republican administration"--Why? So they can fuck you over for ANOTHER 3 Trillion dollars of debt? So the rich can give themselves ANOTHER tax cut in wartime, while sending middle-and-lower class citizens to fight and die and--MOST importantly--to PAY for all the wars and taxcuts and debts? The super-rich LOVE it when the lower classes fight amongst themselves! Republicans will CUT Medicare, Soc Sec,& anything ELSE that helps the lower classes! YA,dat's good t'inkin'der, voter!
Cheaptrick82 3 years ago
Where do you see me as saying we need a republican administration. Both candidates do not deserve my vote. You can make a bumper sticker now that says "Blame me. I voted". Will be true no matter who wins the election.

The government is going to bail them out, and there's practically nothing taxpayers can do to stop it. That's the way it goes...

We have enemies in our own government.
katman78130 3 years ago 3
Parties and politics do not matter. Only fools think otherwise. You can spend your whole life thinking that you somehow make a difference getting involved in politics or helping out as you may call it. Our system is a false paradigm designed to make us think we have a choice. We don't. They are all the same when they get to Washington. The only man that could make a difference is Ron Paul. But the good are few and far between. Most have been bought off or silenced or both. This is the game.
katman78130 3 years ago 2
Great video. Factual and accurate. Our congressman and senators collect a check from taxpayers but even more from the pigmen that are taking all of our money. Contacted my reps in both houses. I seriously dought this bill will fail however there is always hope.

Too late! The housing bill WILL become law, and the bankers will get YOUR money. Unlimited amounts of money will be used to bail these crooks out.

We can win this...we just need to get our heads together and make a difference...call your congressmen and women...let it start with YOU!

folks the government or what we think is government is not real. its all a illusion designed to fool you and your mind. can't you see that? we as americans have been duped into thinking we are free men, when we are not. if you think you are free, then quit paying your property taxes or your income taxes. we are slaves on a massive plantation. Ever since Lincoln we have not been free. Maybe Bush was right. The constitution is nothing but a gd piece of paper.
katman78130 3 years ago 2
this tard is always running his head all the time....oh, lets go call congress. what i moron. i have been doing that for 20 or so years and guess what? it doesn't work. they don't care what we think. they don't care what we want. until major f***tards like this prick understand that, it will always be the same. so a few people ruin their day and go protest. so what? it means nothing. get a million white men in the street in washington dc and maybe, they might listen.
katman78130 3 years ago
What a clusterf*ck... The Americans talked so much smack against Communism and Socialism, and now they're letting themselves fall on it. But instead of giving away tax money to the poor, you give it to the rich people... listen to this guy, and get your country out of the sh*thole.

The regulations in place would have worked, if anyone enforced them. No one did. The police were no where to be found. The system worked fine in 1960-1970-1980. It is these new 'financial innovations' & 'financial engineering' that have screwed us.
