  • nice boy:))

  • I WANT THIS MACHINE:))))

  • Actually that keyboard sounds like crap.... I ordered it and two or three days later I sent it back and got my refund. I then ordered the Casio WK 7500 and it has loads of great sounds and the guitar sounds are also just as great. If I were to get another keyboard, it would not be a Yamaha, it would be a Roland.

  • God damnit that guitar voice sounds more real than my guitar does....

  • MM6 and MM8 are basically the same thing,MM8 just have more keys and weight.

  • Thank you! A good demo!I like that there's no electronic "music" and rap in your playing and demonstration. I have this synth. I think it's a wonderful machine for it's money. But my request to Yamaha - to refuse from propagandize a rap and electronic "music". Why all the demos in this machine - is electronic "garbage"? Why patterns are begining from rap styles? And them so many in this machine? I'm sure, Yamaha must be oriented on a true art of music: instrumental, pop, rock, jazz, blues.

  • Does it have a piano touch? (When you play, it feels like if you play on a piano)

  • @jackrob5 The MM8 has semi-weighted keys whereas this model he's playing has touch sensitive keys.

  • @jackrob5 no, this model of keyboard does feels like that, does not come with heavy keys, my yamaha psr-550 feels better than this one....

  • hey dude how do u make the dual button work

  • @MrMayle09 u hold the dual button on then choose the sound u want by choosing one of the categories

  • Is there a way to record this keyboard say in cubase or Fl studio besides audio? I found a way to record it in cubase and Fl studio where it shows up recorded as midi notes or whatever but it doesnt play back??

  • iam getting one on saturday !!!

  • PLEASE HELP - I basically perform in churches for worship. can I use the MM6 as an arranger? can I do live performances using the MM6? please let me know. reason for my question is because the MM6 is pretty equipped and comes at a reasonable price. can any one advice please? thank you.

  • @uxninja The quick answer to your questions would YES. We have a MM6 as the main keyboard at our small church for a couple of reasons. It is inexpensive and it has great sounds from the Motif line. You can use it pretty much however you want, from live mono or stereo out puts, to USB interface as a controller to direct MIDI out also as a controller. If you don't think you would get really into deep editing or requiring lots of layering then it's a perfect, reliable keyboard.

  • @Thosewithus THANK U so so so much.... U just made my day... I will be going to the stores in a couple of days... God bless U.

  • @uxninja hay check my vid FOREVER BY CHRIS TOMLIN keybaords yamaha mm6 is a cool keyboard to work with

  • @uxninja Hey, I am looking to get this one to and I needed it for the same reasons. If you mean can you play all the stuff when not hooked up with midi or to a computer yes you can. It plays as a normal arranger. But it also becomes a workstation because you can dump your made stuf fon a flash drive and replay it. But if I understand your question correctly you wanna know if you can play it live basically "plug n play" well Yes you can! Hope this helped!

  • hello this is harry from INDIA i have this same keyboard, i wanna confirm is this really delivering potential sounds of MOTIf.....and how much space of ROM occupied by this motif engine in this synthesizer...i mean its written about 128 voices are GM out of 428....so rest 290 is purely belonging to MOTIFor MOTIF ES.whatever....i hope u got my point......i heard somewhere it is carrying 70 MB ROM OF MOTIF....make sure that Yamaha is not fooling people by telling its producing few motif sounds

  • Sam Ash,

Can I trade in my synth for a another synth?

  • can anyone help me??

am i right in thinking this keyboard has no speakers?? do you have to have it through computer to hear it??

    thanks :)

  • @haani4 Yes

  • @haani4 this keyboard does NOT have speakers. i connect mine to a speaker to hear it.

(you can also play it with headphones.)

  • this mm6 is the best in my opnion. and has a good price.

see my channel on my recordings with this keyboard

    thanks

  • I can't stand the drum grooves or arpeggiator on this- i have a yamaha mm6 and I like it it's fun but I prefer to do things myself rather than letting the machine do it for me. For an advanced user this isn't a good buy - it's good if you are just starting out as he says. Not good for a professional or advanced user.

  • @Choyzaaa how much duz dis cost???

  • @9322002898 Around 500 euros

  • Guitar strumming on MM8 is not as easy as he is saying. You have to keep one finger down all the time as he did in order to keep the flowing rhythm. Once you lift your finger and press again the strumming is not quantized with beat!! I,m very disappointing with this especially that there is no HOLD key anymore.... Where is it???? For argpeggiotor a Hold key would have been nice feature. Any help!

  • I'm getting somewhat bored of playing just piano, and i was wanting more of an electronic sound to just play around and record with. Is this a good workstation to start with?

  • is there possibility to create my own arpeggiato to play with band?

  • It weight lest than 12 pounds ? Are you kidding me ?

  • yes you can

  • can this be used as a midi controller to use with my Roland JV-1080 hardware?

  • let me end this endless synth-not a synth bickering once and for all. if it says SYNTHESIZER on a keyboard. its a synthesizer. LoL

  • a sound like the keyboards roland!

  • I have a yamaha mm6

    how can I join pianos

    to have a better sound?

  • @astrologamed is it true that

It weight lest than 12 pounds ? what do the keys feel like ? can yopu tell me what do you thing of it plz. I want to trade my YPG-535 for one of this .

  • @JESUS4R3AL just go to Guitar Center and try it out for yourself...that's what i did. :)

  • @latinbohemian YEAH

I whent there but they only had the mm8 ,and that was a monster !!

  • this isnt really a synthesizer, you dont synthesize a sound you use built in sounds and tweak them.

why do everyone call these synthesizers? these are maybe rom synthesizers...

imo a tool that isnt allow you to create things by yourself is limited and disables your true creativity.

things that you make by your own can sound up to 10 times better.

  • it IS a synthesizer. I'm guessing what you are referring to is FM synthesis back from the 80s which was used in Yamaha DX7 series and later on in sy77/99 which already had AWM2 synthesis which is what this keyboard has. Those keyboards really sounded awesome. This is still synthesis though, you are able to modify the sound quite A LOT. Not the synthesizers fault that YOU can't :)

  • what?! who said i cant? who do you think i am?

i just said that it isnt a 100% synthesizer.

you dont create a sound from 0, you use an existing sound and change it, thats not full synthesis. a synthesizer is a tool to create a new sound, not to make one out of a pre synthesized sound.

if someone want to buy his first synthesiser he better go on a nord lead or virus indigo or something like that, thats more like a tool for performing musicians only and less for producers.

  • 3:45 - 4:16. Can you change the sounds of the midi file on the MM6? Like if i recorded a song on the MM6, put the midi file on a usb flash drive, then put it on my computer and quantized it and organized it, then out it back on the MM6, would the MM6 play the same sounds i used to record the song in the first place?

    Please Reply

    Thanks

  • When I save to my memory stick as midi (smf) format, I plug it into my PC bit the recording doesn't sound right. There are weird synths and alarm noises. Is it because my computer can't read midi format or what???

  • It is because midi is just the notes of the song. All the sounds that are on the Yamaha MM6 aren't on your computer, so youre not going to hear what you heard on the MM6.

  • @Thunderdome616

Hey there, try to convert your MIDI file to Mp3 with Midi Converter Studio.

I used to have this problem too.I record my songs on a Yamaha Clavinova but when i playback on my computer it sound weird and sucks.

It depends on what converter u use.

  • I just wanted to ask if it has "Lead" sound to play Power metal

  • Works as midi controller too? And works only with Cubase? I'm trying to find out...

  • ... as easy as.

  • so i got this machine, its a good keyboard and execelent voices but!!! the keys balance is very strange.. seems tight, i have dificulty to execute fast solos, i had a yamaha e403 and in this aspect looks better than mm6

  • you made me laugh

  • ;) lolol

  • can you get updates on this?

    or add your own samples??

  • im getting it from christmas, and cant waiiiiiiiiiit!

  • same here Im getting it for Christmas =) the only difference is I'm actually gona be the one paying for mine lol

  • I'll het the MM8, but thats birthday and Chirstmas together =)

    I also can't waint any longer ^^

  • SAME HERE except an mm6

  • its worth waiting.... I just got one for christmas... happy new year

  • you too =P

Yea in my point of view it's a great machine =P

  • i think you'll love it, you probably will of demo'ed one already but if not, its a great tool for recording of playing live. it works great with pro tools, cubase, ableton etc, hope you enjoy it at christmas ;)

  • thanks

  • so i :)

  • I'm guessing you cant save songs on this synth?

  • you can

  • actually, you can. I haven't had the need to do it, but you can through USB.

  • up to 4 with 6 tracks

  • hello sir can u do a small favour, plz help me out hw to save or store songs or record tracks in usb plz plz plz m really frustrated over this problem for a long time nd no guy is ther to help me out , not even a yamaha expertise..plz plz kindly do it...

  • very nice review! im buying the MM6 tommorow!

  • can you use the USB to take synth patches from a virtual analog synthesizer and open them in the mm6 to tweak them with it?

  • Could you tell me how to do this? That sounds like a nice feature.

  • nope cause that would be pretty much sampling and it doesn't sample.

  • can you put a mic on that and sing with it and make it have diff. tones? im new with this and dk what to buy and what im looking for..

  • nah you can't do that with this

  • you mean a vocoder? mm6 doesnt have that patch yet

  • thats a vocoder, the korg microkorg keyboard can do that, video here : WqjVCnxkzBw

  • are you insane? vocoder is a patch that allows you to change your voice through a mic!!! you get it?

  • yeah and the mm6 doesnt have it.

  • no, not possible

  • great review

  • i bought one but im STILL waitind for it to ship, it takes longor than i expected
