R.I.P peter you were an amazing rider and you're in everyone's hearts and still racing in the sky's above us the best way to go is doing what you love you are in everyone's hearts.
My son and I are heading back to Thunderhill this Sunday, 10/10 to participate in another track day. Somehow, I think that Peter will be there flying around the track doing what he loves to do with a big smile on his face.
I and my son were participating in the track day at Thunderhill on 7/27. I was in the A group with Peter. In one session, I couldn't hold my line exiting turn 8 after pushing my entrance speed. Staying on the gas, I got back on the track just as Peter passed me and gave me a thumbs-up as he went by. At the end of the session, entering the paddock, he turns around and gives me another thumbs-up. What a great kid and a great talent. Just not fair. Good-by Peter, the world will miss you.
New rules for kid racers. kid friendly track only where they know the track keep them there until they gain more experience. Watch them. split them into tiers. Introduce new tracks as an exhibition race. Peter RIP
@Philinspaces im saying a person should be living there life doing what they love doing, Peter loved racing motorbikes, who are you to say he cannot do that, just because you grew up in bubble-rap doesn't mean everyone else wants to sit on the sidelines not living there life.
@Philinspaces Most of the MotoGP stars in the Pro races that weekend (Hayden, Rossi, Spies) were racing by age 13. It's just the way it is in motorsports.
@Philinspaces The previous practices, qualifying and Saturday's race had all gone without a hitch. So it wasn't as if anyone thought there was a serious problem. It just turned out that grip on the track wasn't as good on Sunday morning.
So does this mean that children shouldn't be able to play football? Baseball? Compete in martial arts? etc? Living life on the sideline isn't "living" life.
@AmeriKenny This was a freak accident, just like freak accidents happen in many other sports/activities - horseriding, bmx, walking up trails from botanical gardens - like the 14 year old U.S. tourist that fell to his death just before Football World Cup in Cape Town, when out with his family. Riding on the track is much, much safer than been a learner with other traffic, big ego and immovable objects. Rather get them riding early on off-road bikes (that don't kick or bite like horses!)
@Philinspaces would you rather he was out stealin and mugging people, he died doing what he loved, i'd rather go the same way than as some 80 yr old who needs help going to the toilet.
He would have been the next Rossi or Stoner . Condolences and the best wishes to his friends and family. RIP Peter ! :'((
